What kind of singer describes you best A. Recreational singer- someone who is here just to have fun and not really care too much about the ratings HOF etc B. Recreational singer-who would like to get the top ratings and maybe have a song or two in the HOF C. Professional wannabe-Someone who puts great importance in ratings and only wants to produce HOF quality performances. Hoping to use singsnap as a step to bigger and better things. D. Professional singer-Someone who uses singsnap as a place to just warm up those vocal chords..Try out new singing styles. Listen to other singers of like abilities.
I think I fall in to category B.

Hmm well...I think 'A' but I care how I sing a song and if I hit bum notes I'm not satisfied. So a recreational singer but I want to sing to the best of my ability when I do. I'm not for churning songs out willynilly regardless of the way I have sung them. Too much pride for that. On the other hand..you know my opinion of the hof so I wouldnt even know if I'm on there or not.
Hmmmmmm........I am a bit of C and D. Too much of a perfectionist to put just any recording out there. Pretty sure I couldn't make it as a professional singer, but that would be a dream job for me. I love to learn new styles/songs and listen to many great singers for inspiration and musical growth. So personal vocal improvement is important to me.
As for the HOF, lol.....well since I am not there, general consensus says I must not have that star quality.
If anything, I have learned how to harmonize and improv. So that is a major plus :))
Well actually this idea for the thread came about..because I've lost my singing mojo...I used to love it and now don't as much as before..Just wonder if I try too hard...which lead to the questions forming in my head.

Whiskey is just singin' my heart out today!!
A for me with a bit of a lean towards B because I generally won't put my 1st take out there but the HOF is just a place for those with the right connections IMO. Very few have made there on their own merit. Top ratings I could care less about. I just want to sing fairly good and not kill someone's eardrums in the process LOL
PS I'll try to keep an eye out for your mojo! Hugs, Shawna
I can't seem to find a category I fit in LOL. I sing for fun no matter what. I don't sing to have perfect recordings. I guess I do the willynilly thing( as Ker put it lol). I sing for stress relieve, for fun, practice and to keep my voice in somewhat a decent shape, cus I sure do hope the doctors can get my voice back to normal. I used to sing professionaly, have been doing it since I was 19yo but due to illness, my voice has deteriotaed in the past 2yrs. So, I've had to quit for the time being. Still doesn't stop me from auditioning for bands. I am sticking to blues and jazz auditions cus it is what my voice can handle at the moment, no more R&R for me, my vocal chords just won't do it lol. So far, I aint getting the lead(which is to be expected) but more of a back-up singer for when their lead singer gets sick. Which is fine with me cus I'd lose my voice if I did it every weekend LOL.

I like listens only if they are truly listens. I don't like drive by listens....you know where the music starts and during the intro a comment is written and they never heard an actual note. I have lots of songs with no listens because I sang them for myself, not a feature page, or contest or whatever, so no it doesn't bother me :)
Am I one of the very few C/D's, lol? Alot of A's in this group .
As for the listens, one of my recent songs only has three listens and two comments. One my response comment and the other from a listener, but *wow* what a comment she left. So that is cool with me.

probably B and C... a number of my recordings are one takers, and i do predominantly sing for fun so partly A too, but i wouldn't mind making money out of it.... haven't done any stage performances in about 18 years....

I think I fall somewhere between A and B....sometimes I just sing for fun and don't really care about ratings or comments. Other times though I really work hard on a song, and would like a little recognition for it...not that I sang it well, because quite frankly, I know I'm not that great...but it's nice when people notice the effort.
Obviously those people would be people who have heard me before...friends and fans...as they would be the only ones to notice actual improvement.
But like I said...it's mostly just for fun. Usually, I just kick one out when I can find the time and an empty house. lol

Annie I understand about the empty house. That is a very rare moment for me too. Sometimes I have to chase the family out just get a recording done.
