"'When a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Any clothing or leather that has semen on it must be washed with water, and it will be unclean till evening. When a man lies with a woman and there is an emission of semen, both must bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. (Lev 15:16-18)

So masturbation and sex are not a sin?
Just go have a bath...?
That simple?

:D wow. (lol)

Tez, "emissions" also happen involuntarily, even while a man is sleeping, so that is not necessarily talking about masturbation.

Sex is not a sin. Why would you think that?

That IS old Testament and was a rule of that time (tho Muslims still do bathe after sex.... I have that on good authority. ) :)

There are a lot of rules set down in the Bible that are notnecessarily from God. They are just the custom of the time and the Bible has recorded those customs.

Interesting question tho.

Truth doesn't change for God. Either is right from beginning or not. Otherwise i start to believe that the bible is human written according to what THEY believed at that time and that with time they change only what they like.

Body needs are involuntary and natural that the body needs for release. What would be 'wrong' (maybe? ) is if it becomes an addiction.

therefore why change it?
If change occurs, why the bible doesn't update itself with what is the reality today?

The only thing I know Attezo, is what I was once told by my former preacher. The Old Testament was the Book of Law and that because none of us could ever live up to all of the laws in there, Jesus came and died for our sins, and because of his death, we are now under Grace, and therefore, not all of the laws apply, though the Ten Commandments still do.

Hope that helps.

I think, and it is just my opinion, because all of the things contained in the New Testament have not come to fruition yet. There is still prophecy to be fulfilled, while in the Old Testament, the propehecies have already occurred.

I was told masturbation is a sin.

But i am rational , and even medics say that it is a body need. Infact most priests died due to cancer prostate because they didn't practice it. They went against their nature.

They should know it better than all since they are priests. What example they are?

they take a vow of celibacy? they are married to the church? and maybe if they do not know what they are missing.....they will be less tempted to go against their vows?

I dunno why........just my best guesses

is it really a sin.....or just a misinterpretation?

Which laws then apply? You realise the world of today is not the same of 2000 years ago?

Yes Attezo, still the same God, but God can not look upon sin and therefore, in the days of the Old Testament, we had to follow all of the laws because if not, no one could go to heaven, then Jesus came and died for all of our sins (past, present and future), therefore, when we ask forgiveness through Jesus, God can "communicate" with us and forgive us, that is why people say, In Jesus name, we pray, amen.

The laws that I was talking about that we have to follow are the Ten Commandments and please listen to the others here before me, because I am sure they know ALOT more about the Bible than I do, as I have not studied it like I should.

The way I PERSONALLY would interpret that is that he did not follow through with his duty to God and family, so to speak and that is why he was punished. Because he did not do what he was supposed to do not because his seed was spilled on the ground.
