Rockin', Country, Rhythm & Blues

This is my first contest so please be patient!!

This contest will cover the genres in the title, in that specific order. If there is a song listed as let's say country and you know it was on the pop charts as well, and can prove it. It will be allowed. (For example, Broken Hearted Me by Anne Murray is listed as Pop on SingSnap, however is was #1 on the Billboard Country Charts in 1979).

There will be four rounds lasting five days each.
First round will be rock music.
Second round will be country music.
Third round will be rhythm and blues.
The fourth round will be songs chosen by myself and the judges and each contestant for the final will have to do two songs, each from a different genre.
Ten will be cut from rounds 1 and 2. Five will be cut from round 3, with the final five going into round 4. Everyone in the finals will receive a banner for their page.

We will be judging on clarity, voice, pitch and how well you begin and end your songs. A strong ending makes your song. So please make sure you dont' run out of gas by the end.

Duets will be allowed, however if you duet for the audition, you must duet the entire contest.

Please play nice and listen to your friends, this is not a requirement however.....
Here is the kicker...
We are going to have a Miss or Mr. Congeniality. At the end of each round I want each of you to pm me with the name of the person that you think has been the most supportive during the contest. This person may not necessarily make it to the finals, but he or she will get a banner with the title "Miss/Mr. Congeniality" for his or her page.

We will accept pre-records for the audition round as long as they were recorded no later than August 5th of this year. After the audition round you may each have one pre-record during the entire contest, except for the finals. All songs for the finals must be fresh records, no older than 48 hours.

So let's begin this contest. We will be taking auditons until we get the first thirty. I will begin each round with my own post from the genre we are playing in.

Oh yea...another thing...Reverbs will be allowed, but it must be used to enhance your talents, not hide them. We want to hear you singing with the bells and whistles, not under them.
Also scratchy and distorted records will be counted against the contestant.

OK Here's what we are gonna do...we are gonna take auditons until Monday night 8 pm est. The first round will be posted by myself or one of the other judges by 8 pm the next evening. I know you all don't like waiting, but that way all three judges will be able to judge farily and get their scores in.

Lady Hazel is right....you don't have to have an audition song, however, we would love to hear you all before we get started, if you have something. Also too, not saying that it will, but maybe later down the line, if we get stuck, we might could use the audition songs as a tiebreaker.
