Hello everyone! Sorry, haven't been around much....been busy with work and such. I haven't had a chance to listen to your songs yet :( Weekends are busy for me.

In addition, my hubby found a great FREE multitrack mixer online called Audacity. I don't know where he found it, but I figured out how to use it to add effects to my voice (finally) as well as add additional tracks and then record it on SS. I've been spending most of my free time messing around with the software trying to figure it out.

Of course, it can be used to record musical instruments as well, acoustic guitar sounds pretty good through the mic (bass is a little tougher...) I'm also spending some time working with hubby on the "Ten Songs" Contest run by a local newspaper in February, which is why he found the software. I don't play any instruments, but I'll be helping with the vocals and lyrics. Also probably the tech end of it, I'm better at figuring out things like that than he is :)

I did it for my Mom, it was the song she named me after. I was able to record 3 tracks (all with the same slight delay effect), and I could adjust the timing, effects, and volume on each one before I recorded it into SS. Recording onto SS was tricky with timing, but eventually I figured out to set up Audacity to start right where my vocals started, and then hit play at the right time during recording. Also, I only recorded vocals on Audacity while listening to the track on SS, and I wore headphones to avoid overlap. All of this came with trial and error, but I thought some of you might want to check it out and give it a whirl.
