***RND 4***A QUARTER FOR THE JUKEBOX***

Welcome to “A Quarter For The Jukebox” Round 4. Sadly we had to start doing our eliminations this round and 8 were eliminated since we had 1 DQ and 1 Withdrawal. I would like to invite each person who is eliminated to continue singing with us in the Soda Shoppe. You are still a part of our jukebox group as long as you would like to be. I enjoy hearing all of you but unfortunately in all contests we have to make the numbers smaller in the main competition. I would also like to ask anyone who has been eliminated if you would like to volunteer to be on the panel of judges for the last 3 rounds of the contest (Rounds 8, 9 and 10) to please send me a pm. Rick and I could sure use your help.

Congratulations to Cheryliana for winning the extra quarter in Round 3. Deelyte was a winner in Round 1 and Joelbud66 was the winner in Round 2. These three contestants now have 2 quarters they may spend during the contest but if they spend one of the quarters then they will not be able to add the ¼ point to their final score at the end of the contest. Please read all the rules because there is a lot going on within the contest. If you have any questions after reading the rules below please ask. LoveSong_ Singer (aka Rick) and I (A10cgirl aka Rita) will try to keep every thing as simple and clear as possible. NO DRAMA…if you have a problem please try to handle it in a mature fashion through the pm. No playing “Flip The Page”…this makes it very difficult for us to do the updates. We do want you to chat and have a good time but we don’t want to have to go through post after post of someone just trying to flip the page. It takes 50 posts on a page to flip it.

RULES FOR YOUR ENTRY

1. In the previous round all of you chose your Jukebox for Round 4. Below you will see your name in one of the groups and the jukebox you chose is to the right of your name in ( ). There is also an * by your jukebox number…this is your quarter. Once you spend your quarter this will disappear. Some of you spent your quarter last round so you won’t see the * by your name. You will see the jukeboxes below. Find your jukebox. You must choose one song to sing from your jukebox for your entry unless you decide to spend your quarter and sing from one of the other jukeboxes. You can only do this once during the whole contest unless you win one of the challenges for an extra quarter.

2. You must submit your entry before the deadline or sadly it will mean you are disqualified. If it’s getting close to deadline and you have not submitted, Rick or I will try to send you a reminder pm to let you know the deadline is approaching but please do not rely on these pm’s because something could happen that we might not be able to pm you. Teddies has also volunteered to help with the pm’s so we will try our best to remind you.

3. When you post your entry please place in the thread the following:
Your Group
Your Jukebox #
Name of Artist
Name of Song
Link to your song
And your choice for your Jukebox in the next round (a number between 1 and 3). If you do not choose a number for the next round one will be chosen for you.

4. You may sing harmony. In some of the jukeboxes there are duets. If you choose to do a duet you may go find a partner of your choosing but I can not guarantee you that you will be scored on your vocals only so you will have to use your own judgment on this. You may do both parts of the duet yourself if you choose. You may use special effects. This is your creative time so do whatever you think might put you in that winner’s circle at the end. No Pre-Records will be accepted including in the Soda Shoppe which is explained below.

RULES FOR LISTENING AND SCORING

1. You have been placed in groups. These groups are for scoring and listening purposes only. There will be no “voting out” of groups. Eliminations will be done as if you are one group with the contestants holding the lowest scores being the ones eliminated. Each group is assigned another group to listen to and score. You will never be required to listen and score more than 12 singers in a round. Each round you will be in different groups with different contestants scoring you. You will give each person in the group you are assigned a score between 1 and 10 using “5” as “average” and “10” as “excellent”. You may use ¼ points. EXAMPLE….. 8, 8.25, 8.5, and 8.75…..or you may choose to write them as 8, 8 ¼ , 8 ½, and 8 ¾. Either way will be acceptable. You will score like this every round through Round 7. In Round 8 we will then turn the scoring over to a panel of judges. To make things a little simpler you will always be scoring the group below you with the last group scoring the first group but we will also be letting you know each round which group you are to be scoring at the beginning of each round.

2. Once a group has all their songs in or the entry deadline has been met we will let you know in the thread that you may send your scores in. You will need to send your scores in to LoveSong_Singer and me. Just copy and paste from your first pm to the other one so that Rick and I will be getting the same thing from you. DO NOT PLACE YOUR SCORES IN THE THREAD!”

3. Rick and I will then take each person’s score and throw out the lowest and highest and then average the remaining scores. This will be your score for the round. Rick and I will then compare and make sure we have the same thing and agree before we move on to the next round. Rick and I will not be doing any scoring during any part of the contest. There will be no tie breakers. If we have two or more people tied up for the last spot then all those tied will go on to the next round and we will adjust our number of eliminations for the next round. We will let you know that we had a tie but will not reveal who was in that tie so please do not ask.

4. You are only “required” to listen and leave a comment on your assigned group. If you have time to listen to others in the contest I’m sure all of our contestants would be most grateful for your visit. Rick and I will also be singing along with you during the rounds but it is not required that you listen and comment on us but of course we appreciate any listens we get. We are not in the competition but we both like to sing, too.

ATTENTION ALL CONTESTANTS!!! I am still receiving a few complaints that some of you are not commenting on the people you are scoring. This is a rule that you must listen and comment. I don't care if you leave a banner or just say you've been there but please let the contestant know you've listened. Number 1...it's common courtesy and Number 2...no one wants to feel like they are being scored by someone who hasn't even listened. I can not police every contestant but I will look at every complaint. Unfortunately this has become more of a problem than I thought it would be so starting this round Rick and I will be disqualifying anyone who does not follow this rule. I don’t want to do this but I don’t want the contestants who are following the rules to feel like they are treated unfairly either. If you are having computer problems please contact us…We realize that sometimes SingSnap likes to give us a few problems and we will work with you if you are having technical problems but you must let us know. I promised to never have a group larger than 12 so I think each of you should be able to at least leave a banner, comment or something on the person you are scoring so they will know you have been there.

5. Your scores must be in by the scoring deadline or sadly it will mean a disqualification.

RULES FOR THE SODA SHOPPE

The Soda Shoppe is a place where former contestants may continue to share their music with us. It is also a place where our contestants may try out another song to share that they do not wish to enter or can’t enter for competition. All Songs done in the Soda Shoppe must be new recordings and must be taken from any of the Jukeboxes with the current round. Our contestants may choose any jukebox within the current round to sing from in the Soda Shoppe. You are allowed only (1) song in the Soda Shoppe. You are not required to sing in the Soda Shoppe…this is just an option for the ones who would like to sing an additional song.

Next round I'll be condensing the rules so there won't be so much up there. I think by then everyone should know them and we can shorten them some. I know it's a lot but I just want to make sure everyone is understanding.

I almost forgot something very important....This is the last round you will have 4 jukeboxes to choose from. The remaining rounds will have only 3 jukeboxes...so choose a number between 1 and 3.
