She was definitely better in Chicago but I just thought I Know Where I've Been was a great piece in sight and sound. The philanthropist in me loved the protest line and all. The imagery with the song was just great.

And I don't know why, but I can't stand Pheifer.

I think it was the song that made queen latifah look so good because it was about black rights and their history. But i still would have rather liked to see patti labelle, Jennifer Holiday (original Dreamgirls) or some other singer with the song. She acted the role well but for me, her singing didn't back it up.

She "was" great in Chicago (one of my top favorite Movies as well as Moulin Rouge) but I haven't seen her in Hairspray.
She was Great in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" (I know...not a Musical)
Maybe she was out of her "element"....(Michelle)

Michelle was way out of her element in Hairspray. Clearly her name got her the role

I agree with you guys about Michelle being out of her element in Hairspray, but I'll take her over John Travolta any day. I think he was the wrongggg choice for Edna. He doesn't compare to Divine or Harvey Fierstein.

Yeah I don't think anyone could beat Divine in Edna's role. Travolta seemed way off with Edna.

As for Pheifer, I have not liked her in anything from Batman to Hairspray.

I'm so sorry, I've been really really sick these last few days and just didn't have the energy to get onto the computer to tell you guys I couldn't do something for this round.

I'm so sorry.

Thank you for allowing me to get this far and good luck to everyone in the contest.
