Yeah me too....not that I can sing that many though as they are far too high.....lol....but I love the music always have since hearing the original motion picture soundtrack and watching the film when I was younger.

I still don't think there is any scene like the one with Judas in the desert followed by a tank, with the driving rock beat and guitar in Damned For All Time...that image will stay with me all my life !!

Totally agree, I thought the reason the blonde girl had all the roles was because she was a good dancer. But clearly the other girl (fritz) could out sing and act her.

The movies are just as good and alot cheaper, I can't even affort to see broadway shows anymore. most of the time the movies are better anyway. When i saw phantom of the opera onstage i was very dissapointed. I had a really bad christine and phantom. I'll watch the movie anyday.

I think they need to make more Broadway-Dvd's of things.. my best friend has the Sondheim collection, so we've watched the original cast of Into The Woods on dvd like 20 times. haha. And I have the Jekyll and Hyde one, granted it's with David Hasselhoff but he honestly does pretty well. I love Colleen Sexton in it (even though she'll never be better than Linda Eder.. who is basically my idol. i love her)

Okay, I need to stop. haha.. I should get ready for work or something.

I love Linda Eder, too! She's so awesome.

I have the RENT broadway dvd, and even though the movie has the original cast (more or less...which I prefer), I like the broadway dvd much better. I don't like how they always cut songs from the movie versions.

I don't know why they don't do more of these! They're a great way to get exposure - especially for those who can't afford it or don't live near a venue to see shows live.

I bet it's a money thing...it's always about the money. :\

Well oddly my list of musicals is REALLY short. I've never seen a broadway show. Most I've seen is in the movies but even there I've seen very few musicals unless you count Disney cartoons.

I remember Rent, Chicago (where's Both Reached For The Gun?), Hairspray, JC Superstar, the Wizard of Oz (that's a musical right?), the Producers (terrible movie IMO), I think that's about it. And I've only ever been in one high school production of Leader of the Pack. And I only played the narrator/announcer. But I'd be down to do a musical.

Back to recent point, I do like the movies and I can't really compare the two. But I agree when they cut songs it sucks. But the production values are great. I gotta say Hairspray and Chicago were awesome movies. Queen Latifah belongs on Broadway IMO. She plays here part well though both roles were a wee bit stereotypical. I'd like to see her do a more serious part. Just to see how it rolls.
