Give My Regards To Broadway.. Round 2

On to Round 2!!! Congratulations to the top 25 who made it on to this round. The theme for this round is Old Favorites. These are musicals that every high school and college has probably done too many times to count. This time there is 7 musicals to choose from because there weren’t as many songs.
As each round goes, it’s going to get harder and harder for us to judge you because we have suchhhh fantastic talent in this competition!!! I hope everyone is having as much fun as I am with this.

Rules:
* no drama, harassment, etc.. please be respectful of other contestants.
* no additional effects, MMSB button is fine.
* cams are always welcome, but not required.
* you must submit your song by the deadline stated for each round, I will not accept late entries of any kind.. songs must be submitted by midnight on the date due to qualify.
* rounds will last 3-4 days so that everyone has a chance to get their songs in on time.
* HAVE FUN!!! =)
* please no duets..unless you are doing it all yourself.
*if you want to use a song not in the SS library, I will allow it if it is done through the SS player and you have the lyrics posted with it.
*if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. =)
* no pre-records, the time on your recording must be after the time the round started.

Judging Criteria:
You will be rated on a scale from 1-10 in 5 different areas for a possible total of 50 points from each judge. This means there are 150 points possible for each round. The bottom 5 each round will be eliminated. Scores will be cumulative throughout the competition so that you won't be eliminated for one bad song when you had 3 great ones.
Vocals- (the quality of voice, talent, on key, tone)
Articulation- (pronunciation, clarity, etc..)
Emotion- (believability, passion, etc..)
Broadway Voice- (how well your voice fits into the broadway genre)
Ability to Impress- (did you impress the judges?)

DUET BONUS ROUND!!!!!!
Want to earn 10 extra bonus points? All you have to do is duet with another contestant and you will automatically get the points. These are just for funnnn, so we won’t actually be scoring them. Here are the rules:
- You may choose any duet from a musical. (movie musicals included)
- You may choose any person to do your duet with.
- If there is a song you want to do, but aren’t sure who to get to do it with you, just post your half and make note that the other half still needs filled.. anyone can fill it in.
- If no one finishes your duet, you will still get the points for doing it. (just try and complete other duets if possible.. it’s nice to hear completed songs)
- Once someone has completed a duet, another contestant may not use the same person’s to do theirs. (explanation: person A does half of a duet and posts that it needs completed, person B completes the other half.. that duet is now finished. Person C can NOT use person A’s duet to get credit also. They would have to find another one)
- Duplicate song choices are allowed.
I will try to keep updated on completed duets with the song list for the round. Let me know if you have any questions. =)

also - the duets, like the round entries, cannot be ones you've recorded in the past. it must follow the regular contest rules.

You can only be on one duet recording..

Here's the best way to make it work:
If you want to do your part first, record it and post it in here (or PM one of the contestants) and ask them to finish the other part. Or you can wait to see if someone has posted their half of a duet in here and then you can finish it.
You can't just go to someone's page and find a duet they did days/months/years ago and finish it.
Both parts of the duet must be done after I made the thread. It DOES make it a little bit harder, but that's why its for bonus points.

Does that mean duets have to fall within the set musicals for this round?

Also, can we only duet with people in this round, or can we duet with people outside of this contest?

And same question as Jamie (provided we CAN duet with people outside of this contest) - if the other half of the duet was an old recording, but MY half is fresh, does that count?

OR how about if we duet with ourselves?

OR - double OR - what if we duet ourselves for the round entry, does that count as the bonus too? lol

YOUR DUET PARTNER MUST BE A PERSON FROM THIS ROUND.

SAME AS ABOVE, SO BOTH HALVES MUST BE FRESH.

THE BONUS DUETS MUST BE WITH ANOTHER CONTESTANT.

IF YOU DUET WITH YOURSELF FOR YOUR ENTRY, IT WILL ONLY BE COUNTED AS YOUR ROUND ENTRY.. NOT THE BONUS.

oooh me too! i did the lucy part as a duet for high school/bridal shows/as a voice major in college. haha.
i'm a huge jekyll and hyde fan. can't wait to hear it finished!!!!
