lollymop lovesssss to sing and appreciates all your kind feedback :)
I read in the newsletter that the usb mic should work well now and the mic has always worked but the music still can't be heard when using the mic and earphones. Is there something I need to do? I am on a laptop.

USB Mics will be compatible with the New Mixing Reorder. The Recorder is Set to go public on the Site Oct. 8, 2008. So tomorrow after the launch of the Recorder there will be instruction explaining how to use your mic.
If you need any help with setup feel Free to PM me

please correct me if I'm wrong.. it is my understanding that if you wish to do a recording in stereo all we need to do is select it to be done that way before recording. And if we hear the music when being played back then we don't need to use the site's mixer at all. Is this correct?

No, You will have to Run the Setup Wizard and select your mic. You do need to make sure Stereo Backing Tack is Checked in the recorder. If you hear music with the Enable Music uncheck you are still using Stereo or What You Hear and the recoding will be Mono.
I cannot record vocals or music. When the record button is "hit" there is a message below that says DROP OUT DETECTED. Any advice would be helpful! Thank you
