Tonights XFactor demonstrated perfectly why NOT to enter such a farcical programme.

In a competition that is supposed to be all about singing, once again, the best gets voted off, while the mediocre remain.

Laura White was an incredible and genuine vocalist. How she managed to be voted off is simply unbelievable.

The programme is a joke and a bad one at that.

scarletmichelle is probably causing trouble on the message board :)

Personally I believe Ruth is a far better performer, although I agree that the wrong person went.....................

The problem with these shows are that viewers vote, now I can explain why people aare going that should not.

Every contestant has a core fan base ringing up for them i.e

Daniel----ladies over 40

Ruth & Laura ------ men over 20

EggNog(sorry owen) ------teen girls

JLS----------RnB fans/young girls

and so on

The reason girl groups went so early is because at the moment there is no market for them.............blame cheryl and girls aloud, pussycat dolls, sugarbabes for them.

Laura and Ruths voters were always split, Ruth ended up in the bottom the other week and she shouldnt of but it ws gonna happen with their vote being split..................

The only way to get rid of Daniel is to put a Catherine Cookson series on BBC1 at the same time..............or we are doomed cos he will sink faster than...........Steve................................errrrrrrrr

connieg is looking forward to seeing dydy tonight! but nothing to wear...

So did last weeks when Austin left I thought it was April fools day. I posted something in the dreams thread..

I didnt see the judging or who sent who home though.
I only know the two in the bottom, and that it's a joke that Daniel is still there, and Rachels long bum note although I loved her at first she went down hill all the way so far.

I agree with Simon that it was her worse performance tonight it was, I thought it was quite corny, but her fan base should have been enough to keep her in knowing her vocal talent but Daniel is a bummer every week!

I think all the divorced ladies in their 40s and above are voting Daniel and all the old ladies.. or one of the later is voting after just winning the lottery.

Did Louie have the last say? He is getting rid of the competition if so.. that is what he did last week!

He gave good reasons, Laura couldnt win it in both looks and voice she is another Norah Jones.

Ruth is different, she is a sexy, strong female with an amazingly diverse voice and bar PiNk....the music industry is lacking...........anyone seen Anastasia's new face on that subject lol

Alexandra, in my opinion, is the only good one left.

Oh and little squeaky ass (Diana) got out of singing Mariah Carey... was looking forward to hearing her attempting to struggle through.

Agreed Mandy!

I think Diana sounds like Cilla Black in places :/ She should open her throat up more & let the notes out... & leave the bloomin' squeaks to The Cranberries! Singers are more prone to throat infections from improper use of their vocal chords..... sing properly girl!! Oops, rant over..

Laura had a nice voice but I wasn't to keen on the 'haaa's' she sung when there wasn't even a 'H' on the note she was singing, for example if she sung 'I was singing independantly la di dah' - she'd sing 'Hi was singing hindipendantly la di dah' Strange but true.

Alexandra was good last night but she was nervous! Never seen her try so hard..

Rachel, OMG the bum notes weren't too nice. Ugh. My ears bled a few times.. & she's shouting too much!

EggNog, Enough, Eoghan, his voice was a bit stronger last night - good on him, although I can't see him winning..

Ruth has got edge, got that grrr in her voice & can hold a note! Quite good really.

Daniel... I like him! I can't see him winning cos he's quite boring lol but the guy CAN sing, he's just more destined to working mens clubs or cruise ships hehehe

JLS are ok, but should leave the lead vocal to the little cute one.. I just hate the fact Louis Walsh is their mentor, I can't stand the guy!!!!

So to round it up, i'm not that impressed with this years lot. I heard more talent in the auditions & they got rid of em AND I will say, i've heard miles better singers here on SingSnap!

LOL can't you tell its Sunday morning & i'm knackered, i'm not mincing my words today... ;)

I got to add, I reckon the X-Factor producers should give the losers all a consolation prize of a months Gold membership here - get them into karaokeing teehee ;)

I happen to love Unique voice and Diane has that perhaps listen to her not watching. All the rest I could pinpoint to other singers already out there, Amy Winehouse, Buffy, Donny Osmond lol

Daniel just reminds me of peeps I've been in karaoke finals with, so yea pub singers in suits... but I suppose at least it means if he can get on lots of peeps who audition from here could..ohh I forgot you need a sob story too.

Don't get me wrong he was a great guy as a person and I liked him, and felt bad for him with his situation but then he started all this ladies man act I keep wanting to tell him to put his teeth back in his mouth when he covers them over his bottom lip...he'll be calling everybody babe next!

I completley agree about Daniel, the thing is yes he probably could get work from this but he snt oing to win it, in fact if he does I will never watch it again, maybw him and Jane Mcdonald could duo lol

the one aspect I cant stand from X Factor is the emphasis on sob stories, I was waiting for one b4 Laura sang and said.......this is for my grandad.

There's unique and there's people who just simply cannot sing... Diana comes into the latter category and as Kirstie said she hasn't been using her vocal chords properly!! She seems to make weird throaty noises when she's singing too, as if she's screwing her throat up when shes singing and sounds a bit Kermit the froggish. I just think it all sounds so forced. Don't like her, wouldn't mock anyone else for having different taste though, I just suggest you wash your ears out haha!!

Laura is a good singer and I don't think she should've gone last night... she does have a hint of Belinda Belinda Belinda off Big Bro though which is a bit annoying :)

I hate all the sob stories too... it makes me cringe when they start with the sad music and the story. Yeh, life can be crap... get over it, we've all got rubbish to contend with!!

When Laura said 'this ones for my Grandad' last night I couldn't help but laugh out very loud & I actually shouted at the tv 'SOB STORY!!'

It should be renamed 'Munchausens Factor' :/

I came hunting for the latest updates on this. Lots to read! Essentially the programme writers must have groaned when Laura was voted off. Agreed she does 'huff' her words a little but she has a superb voice nevertheless and her rendition of over the rainbow, which apparently still didn't move three of the judges, was awe inspiring.

They have now lost two of the best singers in the contest Here is my roundup of what's left:

- a cutsie little ducks-bum haired kid who sings...like urr.. a kid really.

- a young blonde who keeps framing her sweet face with bizarre hand movements like some trainee semaphore signaller.

- a slightly maniac woman who looks like she might carry a knife...and use it.

- a big woman with big eyes (both on Simon)

- a talented but 'bound to be groomed just to sound like westlife anyway' group of young guys.

- a great female singer who must be sweating cobs now (because no-one seems to want the great singers).

- a bloke

Can't wait for next week......

Oh by the way..not sure if anyone recorded x factor and still has it but I had a huge argument here at the weekend (surprise surprise eh...a shrinking violet like me n'all).

She is a great singer but I still maintain that Alexandra 'missed' two big notes about halfway through. I'm convinced she was a little off on both of them yet the household here say otherwise.

Now dont hit me with all the 'oh yeah well you do better then crepe'. I'm just saying. If you still have it, do have another listen. I'd love to know if you agree with me or if you are stupid.

I'm off to YouTube to see, but I can tell you now before listening to Alexandra that she did flunk a bit! lol not loads but just a weeny bit.

My other half (who hates anything to do with singing) asked me, 'where were the high bits in that?' He went on to say that with her starting off really low, he was expecting her to hit some pretty major highs, but she never did..

I did read somewhere that Alexandra has been having vocal coaching all week to stop her from singing from her throat... & to sing from her stomach instead. Maybe thats why she sounded different..

lol this is terrible dissecting someones performance but what the heck:

1.25, 1.34 and 1.42

Now I may have had less musical training than Donald Duck but if she hit those notes I must be Elmer Fudd

I should state for the record however, that she went for a much bigger song than the other contestants and that should be taken into account in the voting but considering what the great British Public have done so far...there is no hope lol..

Yep, it was all the 'lives' she went a tad odd with..

I said before she came on stage, 'If its the song I think she's gonna sing, she'd better do it right'.. & it was. Big song, maybe too big with her being nervous & all.

LOL @ you feeling guilty dissecting her performance. They are there in the public eye to be dissected. I wouldn't want to buy a cd from a flat singer, would you?

I rip all the performances to pieces every week!

Just call me Kirstie Cowell from now on haha :D
