Can You Duet? ~*~Auditions~*~

Welcome everyone to the audition thread for the Can You Duet contest here on SingSnap! Many will audition, 25 duos will compete, but only 2 performers will make it to the top and be named the next great country duo on Snap!

I am looking for 2 judges to help me out. I'd like for these 2 individuals to have an ear for talent! Anyone interested please send me a private message.

We will be looking for: originality, vocal styling, and how well you harmonize. If you already have a partner that's great. If not, then find someone and pair up, but your audition song must be performed as a duet. Only 25 duos will make it to the next round to compete and this is an elimination contest. 5 duos will be cut each round. There will be some surprises and twists along the way so hang on tight! I will hold auditions for a little over one week.

Deadline to enter a song for audition is Monday July 6 by 10 p.m. SS time! Have fun!

and also I am working on a special gift for the winners but not going to let you all know what it is till the end! I want you all to know I run a very fair contest and we usually have alot of fun.

also I feel I should add...your audition song can be a prerecord, as long as you are with the partner you plan on singing with for the entire contest, but we the judges will have the say so to split you up as we see fit, as we will be following the same criteria as the show on CMT.

just to clarify...

on the show they take the ones who maybe havent been singing together for very long and split them up and see how they do with other partners. if i do this I will make by choice only and you will have to choose only from the group of singers in the contest. like if you would like to try with another contestant you can do that. im not going to follow strictly by the show. i wont make you split up if you dont want too, but there will be one round where i want you to take a song that isnt country and make it sound country! this is a country genre contest but if you have something with a country twist you can use it. be original!

I know this is going to be alot of fun! if you all haven't seen the show check out season 2 on CMT! I've been following the show and some great talent came from season 1. it was created by the same people who created American Idol.

we arent necessarily going to be looking for typical male/female duets. if you are 2 ladies or guys who like to sing together feel free to partner up! like i said be original lol.

after auditions recordings will have to be fresh. I would rather both partners be involved in the contest so dont just think you can snag someone's open duets thru the whole contest. Im looking for people who have good chemistry together. some rounds you will choose your own songs but im throwing a few twists in there to make sure there is no cheating.

to give you guys some ideas for duets i have a song i've been wanting to try for some time. i heard this on the George Strait tribute show done by Lee Ann Womack and Jamey Johnson and wanted to try it. if any of the guys are brave enough to give it a shot i'd love to hear a finished product. this is just for fun. did this last night before i went to bed. please feel free to join me.

still looking for some good judges. anyone interested please send me a private message.

my favorite judge from season one was Amy Mayo. she writes alot of really good country songs. this season i think it's going to be Big Kenny. of course you cant beat Naomi Judd as a judge. this is a great show. last season Joey and Rory snagged a recording contract and they are a very talented duo. if you havent seen the show it might be a good idea to check it out online. might give you some ideas to work with.
