The backing music is going to stay loud. What you want to do is use the Voice/Music Slider in the Preview Player. After Recording your song and going to Preview you will see a slider with Voice on the Left and Music on the Right. Slide it to the Voice side. The preview player is not sounding true to sound on Mix adjustments so it may sound like your voice is still not very loud but in the final save it will be. You will have to play around and find the right balance for you. Staff is working on the Sound Accuracy.

Now you'll have to fiddle with the setting for your MIC because now u wont overmodulate unless u have it on full boost.... good luck zed

I have the same thing. I have my mic on boost and I have the music so low i can bearly hear it when recording. I have the record slider as high as I can put it without distortion and my voice is still bearly audible even when altering the stero sliders all the way to the left.

from when I was testing, turning the music down on any level, is not going to change anything. The music is already set to loud when you go into the mix/preview. You have to turn up your mic if it is too low or turn on your boost and then fiddle with the mic volumes to get it to where you can hear you. If when you turn your boost on and no matter how low you set your mic, you are still sounding distorted, then turn the boost off. You can also turn up your mic levels from the flash player mic settings. That is what I had to do to be able to hear myself and not be distorted.

I have a condensor mic, so adding the boost made it sound terrible. I had the mic on boost and the mic levels all the way down. I had to take one of my earphones off, so that I could hear me singing. EVEN then, I was super loud over the music. So, I turned the boost off and went into the flash player settings. Clicked on the mic and turned the mic settings their up and my mic settings down. That did it! Only problem is, tho it does save the setting on the flash player, I still have to go into the flash player settings each time and just click on the slider position every time I record. If I don't do that, then I am back to being soft.

Hope that helps!
Jessica :)

jason somehow found his good voice today.

Just so you know, nothing has change with how loud the tracks are, what's likely changed is the level you are recording your mic at since you have now selected the Mic instead of the stereo mix.

When you are in the Recorder, it is super important that the record level still be adjusted properly. So, first, go into the recorder, speak loudly and adjust that top slider so the level meter is just peaking out at the top. Ignore how "loud" it seems from your speakers for now.

Now, press play on the music so some tunes are playing, then minimize your browser and double click on the speaker in the lower right corner. You'll see a Microphone slider in the volume control. What this is controlling is how *loud* it seems on your speakers, but it has NOTHING to do with how loud it gets recorded. In fact, you can turn it down fully here and it still will record the same.

So now with the tunes playing, adjust the mic volume level here until its the right loudness for your taste while you are recording.

Bring up your browser with the recorder again and confirm the level meter goes to the same place when you speak loudly.

And, you're done! :) The important thing is the level meter just peak when you are speaking loudly.

After you record, you should now be able to easily balance the sound via the side to side slider.

Honestly this whole stereo thing should have been bug free before its release to the public. All the tech support backing this "the mixer" can take a look at the results of a majority of members recordings sound so terrible you cant stand to listen to the sound. I will not use stereo and will tell them. If they are going gold for having the stereo option that it isnt worth the money.

I'm just not seeing or hearing the whole stereo thing guys. The sound doesn't seem to move at all from speaker to speaker...or ear to ear (stereo= moves around), and the stereo option only seems to add distortions and noise. I've recorded several songs and kept everything within the recorder levels...it just comes out sounding bad/noisy/loud or maybe the word is "ugly"! I still hear no seperation of sound and no way to seperate them. Without additional tracks or a slider to move the sound from right to left...it's still mono, but now has lots of extra noise, and all I can do is make my voice louder or softer! I wouldn't mind having this new slide bar feature for regular recordings...it's better than having to re-record something because I was too loud or too low, but this stereo feature just makes me want to turn it down...or off...that ain't right! I should want to turn it up!!! I'd say keep the music/voice slide bar and keep trying with the stereo feature...it don't work if it don't move!! When I hear one singer in one ear, and the other singer in the other ear and they switch ears even...that's stereo!!! You may have to make several recordings and mix them afterwards...together, and then seperate/move them as wanted to get a stereo effect...a little bit more than just voice to music louder or softer fellas!! This new feature is a noise maker. One thumb up for the slide bar...one down for stereo folks!

Ebony_and_Ivory 7 days smoke free :) lets partyyyyyyyyyyy :)

Well i love the stereo, but i admit the older songs you don't get as good effect and it don't always sound stereo. But i have not had to much problem with this new recorder. I was one of the first stereo testers and i tell ya it has come alongggggg ways lol. For the folks that it was just released to just have a little patience and play with your settings :) I useto get real frustrated to :) that is a normal reaction i would say.

It is bug free.. it just isn't compatible with all systems.. therefore you have the option to still record as before.. in mono. What I mean by not compatible.. I am saying if your systems cpu or ram is not enough it won't work for you.

The stereo feature adds a backing track is all.. it does not make your voice stereo. When it mixes, it is mixing the song with your voice.. not making your voice stereo.

I think it was all a matter of fooling around with the settings. By adjusting both my voice and the timing I've been able to reduce or eliminate the noise, and I am finally hearing the music move too...that's stereo...I love it:) Thank you all for your hard work!!!! Great job you all!!! TIMROX and Singsnap rulez!!!!!! Group hug:)
