DUTIES OF THE HOST : The duties of the Host are to develop a Theme for the days Challenge, to listen to and bookmark the songs posted to that days Challenge, and to MODERATE the BOARD for anything that would go AGAINST the FORUM BOARD RULES as stated by SINGSNAP. The DUTIES OF THE HOST DO NOT include moderating any DISPUTES that may occur between adults who visit the challenge. We would hope that Challenge members remember that they are Adults and CONDUCT themselves as such. We back up our Hosts 100 percent as to the Themes they post to the board. I really don't know enough about it to know what they have done, I was only involved in getting a second opinion, before they removed the hand...BUT, I know the first day(Wed)they inserted a camera in her leg(??-don't ask me, lol)the clot was in the crook of her elbow...they injected a 'gel-type substance'(according to the surgeon)and were 'blasting it, in bursts'(also the docs words)...trying to break up the clot...didn't work...then Thur, they went in and surgically removed the clot...they had a pulse at the wrist, but a smaller clot must have lodged somewhere, because the hand itself was getting no blood flow, at all...fingers black and gangrenous(sp?)looking...evidently you have 2 veins going to your five fingers...the one controlling the last 3 fingers(pinky, ring and middle)looked good, at least those fingers did...the trouble was with the thumb and forefinger...there was a clot in there somewhere, and evidently the vein is too small for them to go in and remove the clot, or they didn't know exactly where it was, or SOMETHING...they were scheduling whole hand amputation at that time...myself and other sister asked them about a second opinion, and then a 3rd doc did surgery...opened up the tips of all her fingers and basically(sorry for the graphics)was trying to 'bleed' the clots out(blood had pooled and clotted in the tips of all of her fingers on that hand)...there is free flowing blood now, and like I said, slight movement...and this is all after 3 three hour rounds in a hyperbaric chamber to get more oxygen flowing thru her blood, she has one more round of that tomorrow morning...BUT, if they clots don't come out or disintegrate, or whatever it is they do, they want to take the whole hand, because of fear of the clots moving to her heart or lungs or somewhere else more devastating...they would take it just above the wrist, as they know there are no problems above the wrist, so to speak...
again, sorry so graphic, but I really do appreciate all of your concerns and well wishes!...;o)...
