This challenge is open to all. It runs until Tuesday April 22 at 6PM EDT. Its purpose is to give people a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved. Everyone who participates is a winner.
PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES AND THE THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING
1. Post ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday. You may post a FOURTH song on or after Saturday.
Your song can be a new song or one that was already recorded.
**2. For EACH song you post, listen to at least SIX other people’s songs and leave feedback. That means, if you post 2 songs you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 songs, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose.
Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what it’s about.
3. We prefer to listen to the whole song. Try not to listen to the same people every day. Give new people a chance as well.
4. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread.
5. You don't need to post a song to listen but you need to listen if you post a song. It's best to post earlier in the challenge. But you can post up until the end. Just be aware that the closing hours of the challenge are better suited to listening than trying to squeeze in a last minute post.
6. Please read the challenge FAQ on our HOME PAGE by clicking the link below. There are many tips about how to post links and how to edit your posts. Try to avoid making multiple posts IN A ROW by going back and editing your posts if you left something out. You have 30 minutes after you post to add to or correct your post by hitting the EDIT button.

We have regular, rather lengthy gatherings as follows -
Thursday beginning at 7PM EDT (4PM PDT/11P GMT)
Friday at 6PM EDT (3PM PDT/10PM GMT) and at 11 or 12M EST (8 or 9PM PDT/4 or 4AM GMT)
Saturday around 8:30PM EDT (5:30PM PDT/12:30AM GMT)
Sunday afternoon starting at 1PM EDT (10AM PDT/5PM GMT)
EDT=Eastern Daylight Time PDT=Pacific Daylight Time GMT=Greenwich Mean Time
But you are welcome in there at any time as long as you follow the guidelines. If you want to organize a gathering at other times, you can invite others to meet you with PMs or by mentioning it in the challenge thread.
To get into the chat room, use the login at the bottom of the HOME PAGE (see link above). If you've not been to the chat room before or if you need to brush up on the guidelines and how it works, please read item # 11 before entering.

The theme of this challenge is Do It On Video!
It can be a special video you created or just you singing on cam. Or it can be a slide show or any video that you uploaded into your player. If you can't upload video into your player, it can be a video you embed on your page.
And, remember, it doesn't have to be anything complicated. It can be something as simple as you singing on cam. OR if you have no cam, you can post a slide show. If you have no video editing software to create a slide show, go to photobucket.com where you can upload pictures and create your own slideshows for free. Once you create the slideshow, you can get the embed code and embed it right on your song page.
It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you do it on video!

Great theme Bruce. I am really excited to see those that I've never seen on cam before.
This is a fairly easy challenge for me because most of my stuff is on video...Here's my latest recording for those of you who haven't yet seen it.

PhilBaby hopes everyone finds what they are looking for this thanksgivingBruce, Bruce, Bruce......now you know I can't be showing a video of myself singing. I would lose my "PhilBaby-International Man of Mystery" SingSnap image that I've worked so hard to maintain if I were to show my face.....Have you noticed my picture here to the left<<<<<<<<<<....That's right-a faraway silhouette to disguise my appearance :-) That way I keep everyone on the thread guessing if I have an enormous nose or perhaps a third ear growing out of my forehead. Looks like I'll just be a listener/watcher this weeek, Mr Bruce.

Phil. Doesn't say anywhere that the video has to be of you. But, I bet people would like to see you. Still, if you're that determined to maintain the mystery, show us pictures or a video of something else. It'll still be your creation and still be a piece of you that you are sharing with us.

My goodness
but everyone's gotten all shy now Bruce :)))
Well, in the meantime, I had fun playing around with this video.
I recorded on cam first.
Then I transferred the video to a program called Camtwist,
and was able to play around
with some simple FX (zoom, mirror, etc.)
while feeding it onto the Singsnap recorder.
I was just playing around with it for fun
since this IS do it on video week here.
Sunglasses at Night
Seemed like a perfect song for me
since I usually wear sunglasses in my videos anyway LOL.

Yeah, I guess people are a bit shy. But I know a lot of folks here have already recorded on cam, so maybe they're just choosing which one. Or maybe they're doing something new and special for us!
Hey, that's why they call it a challenge.
For those without a cam or cam shy, Photoshop.com is easy to use. You can create a free account, upload any pictures you choose and combine them into a slideshow like the ones on our home page. Could be a slideshow of your photos or could be a slideshow of pictures you find on the internet. Kathy, maybe a slideshow of kitty pictures!
Or, you could always post something like this.

Well, if nothing, I woke up to see this thread and I have to say it's the funniest challenge ever so far for coyness and excuses!!!!
PhilBaby you are just too much! The humor, look I spelt it all American too, oh, maybe I haven't (tease) maybe it should be Homor? Tee hee.
Yeah! I have one too, LOL. In that I'm sure Bruce has seen enough webcams of mine! I never seem to not use the thing, hang on that's a double negative isn't it? Ohhhh boy!
I could submit something that hasn't been put in yet, I'm thinking on it. I have an anger one LOL, yeah, I put it public for a few minutes then quickly withdrew again... the song needed anger as a passion I think and I was er sore about something, not saying what... but definitely right mood to sing it.
Um... date of it, similar to this last Monday? Hur hur, ohhhhh that helps the intensity... could have been.
Anyway back to my gig last night. Lloyd Cole is mid song and he starts to talk, says he heard that Alice Cooper uses a line in his concert tours that '...yeah, even Lloyd Cole hasn't written a song about menstruation, - I'm just so touched he's heard of me...', he carries on the song "b***dy Monday Afternoon, blame it on the moon!!!!!" So funny.
Oh and later he says he has no regrets, except for using school children on one of his songs (you'll probably know the song, I don't) and he then says he should have got some of his bar swelling pals to sing, and immediately does an impression of Tom Waits to finish off singing the chorus which was excellent! Yeah, you know me, HE was an instant hit!!!! hahahah.
Okay song, swallows pride, and inserts, by the way, it wasn't any of you okay, LOL:

And Bruce, yeah, I am intending, have basis for idea, to work on something special and different for you so don't worry, I'm in it, even if it takes me all week to get my act together ;-)

I think the idea for this challenge is brilliant.
Gulp... has to resist the urge to put private again. I think I got more and more into this song as I sang it... yeah, I tend to be a bit 'too' real at times.

EDIT: Um, I don't know what bar swelling is either, I think I meant something along the lines of beer swilling? No idea! Beats me... anyway!

The pc I record on doesn't recognise my cam (Vista, methinks!), so I don't have any videos per se...however, I HAVE managed to get a couple of pseudo-videos done using Manycam software. It's all quite basic, but at least it enables me to add them for this week's challenge!!!
I've been itching to put THIS one here for a while now!!!

Be sure to check out Woof's video to see how you can do an interesting video in a very simple manner even if you're camera shy.
