Well I'm off to bed now , hopefully somebody can help me out here :-)
seems i remember it said somewhere about not being able to use the mmsb button for duets. i can't remember which side that was on, the starter or the finisher. or both? maybe that's the problem.
If I understood correctly .. If the first person to sing does not use the MMSB button .. the second person cannot use it. I've only tried the MMSB button once or twice .. I keep forgetting to click on it. :) .

The recorder is set to stereo by default when you go to duet someone that has recorded in stereo, so you'll have to record like that, no option to uncheck it at the start of the song..but when you go to preview, uncheck 'enable music'...and that will take out the doubling up effect and hopefully synching issues.

LaNell *well, gosh, darn it...had to go back to work this week...waaah:)
Thanks for your answer, Mandy! I just did my first duet, the other day, in a long time. I had not tried, since we were testing stereo...& duets were just about impossible, at that time. I did have some synch issues & was dueting with a "chipmunk," so it came out okay...considering. lol
I do have one other question, just so that I'm clear. Mono & stereo cannot be mixed, in a duet. Is that still the case? For example, if the first person records in mono, then the 2nd one has to, as well? It has been so long, since I've recorded anything in mono & I really hate to mess with my settings, ya know?

Again, when you go to duet a person that has recorded in mono, the player will be set to stereo by default, but when you go to preview, this time the 'enable music' box will be UNCHECKED, to put it into stereo, check the box and enable music.
You may have adjust timing slightly once you've done this.

Well...I just got thru trying again. Apparently, the original recording is in stereo, because it doesn't give me an option. If I uncheck enable music, at the preview stage, there is no music, at all, since I record only in stereo. I thought maybe after I saved it, the sound would appear, but it did not.

The original song isn't necessarily in stereo just because there's no option at the start of recording, by default the player comes up with the stereo checked and greyed out when duetting, whether the original is in mono or stereo....but yeah, if you're still trying to record in stereo (with all your PC settings aimed for that) then you will have to have the 'enable music' checked on preview to hear the music. (I'd kinda meant changing to mono with that particular piece of advice)
I'd fork out and get USB mixer like a lot of us..you can switch between mono and stereo at the touch of one button on that, and no need to bother with any PC settings at all that way...but I guess that's not real helpful to you right now :(
