The day before he went on the Obama hoax tirade, he criticized the 'mainstream media' for jumping all over a hoax email that stated that the Chamber of Commerce did a 180 and supported cap and trade. He called them (the 'media') idiots for not checking their sources.
And here he is, not checking his source, frothing at the mouth over something, anything, that casts Obama in a negative light, accepting it as gospel, even though it's not true.

It was illustrating absurdity by being absurd. He's done this before, with the same knee-jerk reactions coming from the left. El Rushbo has a research team that puts stories and topics together for him to dissemate on his show, 14 staffers at last years count. I don't like him, but Limbaugh researches everything thoroughly before he takes it on air. He has to. Everyone has their gunsights on him just waiting for a misstep. In my mind, this wasn't one. (Perhaps those who are offended by this ought to talk to Dan Rather... he claimed he was duped by that forged draft deferment letter, but having a background in graphic arts and printing I spotted it as a phony because the typewriters in those days typed evenly spaced letters [block type], while the letter in the style you read this is proportional- the white spaces between the letters are even rather than the letters themselves. Everyone is claiming these letters were the real thing yet all I did was look at the date of the letter and the fact that proportional type wasn't invented yet, and I knew they were forgeries. I hoped that others outside my expertise would claim them as fakes and it eventually happened).
Yes, he has all those staffers. So do the news rooms. It's a bit hypocritical to cry foul on someone else when you do the same thing they do.
As for the Yes Men and their Chamber of Commerce hoax, there was only one 'News' network that continued to run with the story for the full day, even after the other networks realized it was a prank and recanted. Yes, it was Fox News.
As for bringing up Rather, isn't that the same as liberals bringing up Bush everytime someone rags on Obama? Sort of ironic. If you don't like that being done, then don't participate in the same activity.
Also, what happened as a result of Rather's faux pas? One could argue that the main reason CBS decided not to renew his contract was due to incidents like this. Of course, there is no evidence that this is the reason he was let go, but it sure can be seen as a contributing factor. After all, he did choose to sue CBS. That doesn't bode well for your career when you choose to sue your employer.

It is funny how some on the left obsess about Rush. Personally, I don't listen to him, but when the far left froths at everything he says, they don't want to listen to any argument they have hate in liberal radio. I found an interesting article in the Boston Globe about that exact same thing:
"What was true in 1994 remains largely true today. MSNBC fired right-wing talk host Michael Savage in July, and rightly so, when he told a gay caller to "get AIDS and die, you pig." The liberal Nina Totenberg, on the other hand, suffered no ill effects for saying, during the flap over General Jerry Boykin's views of Islam and the war on terrorism, "I hope he's not long for this world." When the startled host asked if she were "putting a hit out on this guy," Totenberg backtracked and said she only wanted to see him expire "in his job."
But this isn't the first time the NPR diva has publicly wished death on a conservative. "I think he ought to be worried about what's going on in the Good Lord's mind," she said of Senator Jesse Helms in 1995, "because if there is retributive justice, he'll get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will.""
Bet if you dug, you could even find recent examples. I've caught some lib radio talk shows and they can get downright nasty. Kinda like that talk show host, Ballintine that told Juan Williams (A LIBERAL!) to "get back on the porch". And Rush is insensitive?

All I am saying is the left makes a national issue out of it, but does not say one word about "their" darlings saying much worse. Kinda like saying "You thief! your despicable.." but not saying anything critical of your pal who's a bigger thief. Thats called double standards... Or kinda like being a cop and only pulling over speeders who you don't like, but you give your pals a pass. People who throw stones.........

I would have to say that is a lot different. If, lets say, Obama did something outrageous, the heart of the matter is what he is doing NOW. We hold our ELECTED officials accountable for what they are doing now. We held Bush accountable for what he did, and criticized him....NOW if Obama does something, how does that make sense to completely ignore what he is doing NOW by bringing up Carter, Clinton, Bush....that sounds way too much like "lets ignore what he is doing and talk about something different". Now we're going to the "Pal" thing again. Obama speeds...but Bush is speeding so lets pull him over and never hold Obama accountable. Thats more than a double standard. Now your getting into "Obama can do no wrong". I was on plenty of blogs and criticized Bush. Sadly, some cannot debate Obama's policies without someone criticizing a President who isn't even in office.

I only used that because it was the first thing that popped up on Google. I could find something recent.
This is the clip of liberal radio talk show host Mike Malloy's wife Kathy Bay mocked Gov. Bobby Jindal using an East Indian accent. I can only imagine if a conservative talk show host would have mocked Obama in an "eboinics" tone what the reaction and uproar would have been. This goes to show the absolute ignorance and sheer cluelessness of Kathy Bay. Governor Bobby Jindal "DOESN'T HAVE AN INDIAN ACCENT"! Jindal speaks perfect English. I'm glad that Mike Malloy acknowledged that his own liberal wife was indeed "acting racist" But still found it amusing/funny. Why didn't he cut her mike off? It's laughing at that sickening display that disturbs me. And they fired Imus..gee, where is Sharpton when people get on those liberal shows and talk like that? He's an example of people that will only attack conservatives and give a pass for exactly the same behavior when liberals do it.
Didn't hear any outrage from the left on that. Like the guy said, can you imagine if Rush had someone on his show that did that AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT! Yeah, racism is funny..or bigotry.
And recently Warren Ballantine told Juan Williams, a liberal for God's sake, to "get back on the porch"....
I get tired of so many on the left saying how they are the tolerant party...yeah, only tolerant of THEIR' ideas...then scream and holler when someone else says something. My advice....they need to keep their' mouth shut...or if not, then blast ANYONE who does something they are hollering at the ones they don't like are doing.
SO...I'm saying that if people on the left want to condemn someone (and even make it up and pass it around), they need to call out their' friends in the media when it happens too. I would condemn anyone, conservative or liberal for making bigoted, racist remarks. It seems thats sadly one sided though, eh?

Seems Rush Limbaugh found a piece of satire on the internet, that was claimed to be a college thesis written by President Obama way back in the day.
So, he expertly digested it, believed it truly was his thesis, and started quoting from it and blasting away on his radio show at Obama!
Oops - hold on there cowboy!
Later in the show, he learned that it was a hoax, and clarified that, but then said 'well, we know he thinks it anyway'. hehe
NY Daily News article

The radio broadcast is available on Rush's site, but you have to be a member to listen.
That's a club I ain't joining. :-)
