SS Singing Tourney Season 7 Round 5 - Songs From Movies

HELLO EVERYONE! WELCOME TO THE SS SINGING TOURNEY SEASON 7 ROUND 5!!! ROUND 5 (SONGS FROM THE MOVIES) WILL RUN FROM NOW UNTIL SUNDAY JULY 5TH 12PM NOON SS TIME (GIVING EXTRA TIME FOR THE HOLIDAY). NO PRE-RECORDS!! ALL ENTRIES MUST BE FRESH!!! HERE ARE THE ROUNDS FOR THIS CONTEST:

ROUND 5: SONGS FROM THE MOVIES

ROUND 6: SONGS WITH A COLOR IN THE TITLE OF THE SONG

ROUND 7 (SEMI-FINALS): POP GENRE (IN THIS ROUND, THOSE LEFT IN THE SEMI-FINALS WILL BE SINGING A SONG OF THEIR CHOICE FROM THE POP GENRE AS WELL AS A SONG CHOSEN FOR THEM BY ME)

ROUND 8 (FINALS): THIS ROUND YOU WILL ALL SING 3 SONGS....1) ANY SONG FROM THE POP OR ROCK GENRES (ALTERNATIVE)...HERE'S THE TWIST...YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOU MAKE THE SONG YOUR OWN AND PLEASE SWAY AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL ARTIST ALTHOUGH NOT COMPLETELY; 2) MY SONG CHOICE FOR YOU; 3) kATHLEEN'S SONG CHOICE FOR YOU. MINE & KATHLEEN'S SONG CHOICES MAY BE FROM ANY GENRE OR WE MAY DECIDE TO COMPLETELY THROW YOU OFF...TEE HEE

Rules:

1. NO DRAMA!!!! IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY ABOUT ANYONE THEN JUST DON'T SAY IT. PLEASE SEND ME A PM IF YOU HAVE A PERSONAL ISSUE WITH A CONTESTANT OR MYSELF OR JUDGES.

2. NO ADDITIONAL EFFECTS OTHER THAN THE MMSB BUTTON. ANY ADDITIONAL EFFECTS WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION. THE REASON I AM ALLOWING THIS FOR SEASON 7 IS BECAUSE I HAVE COME TO FIND I CAN STILL HEAR YOUR TRUE VOICE OVER THE SLIGHT ECHO OF THE MMSB BUTTON BUT I WILL KNOW IF YOU USE ADDITIONAL EFFECTS SO PLEASE ADHERE TO THIS RULE!

3. YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR SONGS BY THE DEADLINES SET FORTH. IF YOU HAVE AN EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCE WHERE YOU ARE UNABLE TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY ON TIME THEN YOU MUST PM ME IMMEDIATELY AND NOT 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE ROUND CLOSES.

4. ALL ROUNDS WILL LAST 2-3 DAYS DEPENDING ON HOW MANY CONTESTANTS WE HAVE AND GIVES PLENTY OF TIME FOR EVERYONE TO GET SONGS IN.

5. YOU MUST LISTEN AND COMMENT ON EVERYONE'S SONGS. THIS IS OUT OF RESPECT FOR ALL CONTESTANTS.

NEW RULE OFFICIALLY IN AFFECT!!!
6. YOU MUST CLAIM THE SONG/ARTIST BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR SONG! ANYONE WHO CLAIMS AND SUBMITS IN THE SAME POST WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE DISQUALIFIED, NO EXCEPTIONS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THIS RULE AS IT COULD EITHER MAKE OR BREAK YOU. BUT PLEEEEZE CLAIM YOUR SONGS/ARTISTS BEFORE YOU POST YOUR LINK FOR YOUR ENTRY..POSTING YOUR SONG LINK DOES NOT CLAIM THAT SONG/ARTIST FOR YOU...SO KEEP THIS IN MIND!

Judging Criteria:

Clarity of Recording: 10 points
Song Choice: 20 points
Originality: 20 points
Vocals (articulation, pronunciation of words, on pitch, can I hear you or does the music drown you out, did you put emotion into your song?): 25 points

This makes a total of 75 points you can earn for each submission. PLEASE pay special attention to the criteria you will be judged on...you have all been part of my contests before so I'm expecting the ABSOLUTE BEST from everyone although I do know that there is ALWAYS room for improvement.

HERE IS HOW WE ARE PLANNING ON MAKING ELMINATIONS FROM HERE ON OUT:

ROUND 5: START WITH 20, ELIMINATE 5
ROUND 6: START WITH 15, ELIMINATE 5
ROUND 7 (SEMI-FINALS): START WITH 10, ELIMINATE 5
ROUND 8 (FINALS): FINAL 5 BATTLE IT OUT

Okay everyone *sigh*.....I need to say something on behalf of myself and Kathleen....I was personally VERY frustrated as I was getting the new thread up and contestants were already going nuts chit chatting in here which made it difficult to keep things organized and in order. Because of this I thought I posted the final list in the wrong thread because of it. I erased it and then checked to make sure I was in the right thread and then posted the list. In the thread for round 4 a contestant posted the link to the new thread TWICE. NO ONE is to post the link to the new thread EXCEPT FOR MYSELF AND KATHLEEN. Thanks it....if in the future we have other judges join us they will be able to post the new link. Both of us are VERY upset and a bit ticked off about this. I clearly stated in the round 4 thread that I would be posting the link...no one else has any right to post the new link to a new round or update the list other than the hostesses and judges. Also, no one is to be chit chatting in the new thread until either myself or Kathleen posts the new link....if you want to continue talking to one another please do so in the old thread...it takes a lot of time to get the contest together and to get these contest threads organized and put up. There is a reason why we have posts and contest info in the order that it is in the thread and when we are trying to get the new thread put together and in order it creates too much noise and chaos when everyone is in talking to each other. So, with that being said, from here on out if anyone posts a link to the new thread that is NOT myself or Kathleen or posts IN the new thread before myself or Kathleen posts the new link, those contestants will automatically receive a 10 point penalty...I know this sounds harsh but you have NO idea how frustrated it made me and Kathleen. Now, with that being said....let's move on, have a great time (and you may now continue talking to each other..lol) and move on with the contest!!!
