**THE SNAP FACTOR ~ Round 1**

Welcome to Round 1!!

We auditioned 126 people, which is a very large amount!! Many of you brought to the table some really interesting auditions and it's been a pleasure to listen to you. Those of you who made it through will be placed into mentor groups and you'll be able to get to know your sparkly, shiny mentor!

Round 1 is called TEARFUL MEMORIES. Have you ever had an event happen which has been so bad you've cried? Or maybe so bad you couldn't cry? Channel it through and into a song. This is a tough first round, I know, but it's a tough game.
Many of the auditions had problems effectively portraying the emotion of a song, and I believe if you feel raw emotion for yourselves this will help you to do that.
If you tell the story of what this memory was in the comment box of your song, you'll get 2 bonus points. Bonus points are a rare commodity in Snap Factor however I know some of these stories could be hard to tell hence the bonus.

As for advice - sort out timing issues, try your very best to avoid flat notes/off notes, and please work on making your sound mix good and pleasant on the ear. I also would rather not hear sound distortion as it's distracting.

You will be judged by all 4 judges. 6 people will leave my group and 5 will leave the other groups. I'll post up the markscheme for that later.

The Rules:
1. Please keep to all deadlines. No entry = automatic elimination.
2. No pre records (except audition)
3. Extensions/alternative solution will be granted for good reasons only.
4. If you disagree with mine or a judges decision then please take it into PM and not shout off on the boards. Any unjust arguing may result in a disqualification.
5. Only songs which are in the SingSnap library are allowed.
6. Key changer will be allowed if you are a gold member.
7. Harmonies, echo, reverb etc ARE allowed.
8. Please don't post anything obscene/disturbing, as this is a child
friendly site

To the groups --

I'd like you to come up with a name for your group before the end of the round. This is just a bit of fun. Your mentor will PM me your overall choice.

Please try and get along with your mentor, and they will help you whenever they can. If you PM them your song early you may be able to get early feedback and get the song back for improvements.

Also, have fun, and if you have any issues don't hesitate to PM Me or another judge.

JUDGE'S MARK SCHEME

The judges will be scoring you out of 10 based on your OVERALL PERFORMANCE.

10 - An excellent performance, almost pitch perfect, touches the listener, something very special and with minimal flaws.
9 - A very strong performance with only a couple of minor errors, perhaps lacking a wow/oomph factor. Basics are very strong.
8 - A solid performance which was fairly entertaining but not truly memorable or is slightly deficient in tuning timing or emotion.
7 - A good performance with some noticable errors. Still fairly enjoyable to listen to, however.
6 - A slightly good performance with some poor features, like too much sound distortion, or rather flat singing the way through, but some effort seems to have been made.
5 - An OK performance with a few noticable improvement points, perhaps more effort was needed to make the performance better.
4 - A slightly poor performance, tuning may be off, timing off the beat, performance may be in the wrong key, may be an overwhelming amount of sound distortion, etc
3 - Very poor, poor tuning, timing and not pleasant on the ear.
2 - Extremely poor with only a slight positive in the song, not pleasurable to listen to at all
1 - No positives whatsoever

This is just a general mark scheme and some individual points not mentioned may cause penalties/bonuses.

By the way, you were sorted simply by alphabetical sort and first person goes in my group, second in angel's, etc.

Sorry about the sub list, you'll definitely get critiques this time, I've tried to check everyone but with this many people I miss things.

If you're in my group feel free to suggest a few things. I'll wait on my ideas because I don't want to force feed you guys a name, lol!

Couple of notes!!

I don't mind if you post your story here or on the comment, but if you get the 2 bonus points I will be telling you on your comment box. Remember you only get those if you tell the story of your memory, and not just a vague generalised "I find this so sad".

Therefore it means I have it right in front of me when I listen also. What with all of the name suggestions floating about we might miss some also if all stories were posted here.

Thanks for the submissions so far!! I hope the judges are tough, or they'll be in tears theirselves by the end of this!
