I want to buy a mixer in order to add reverb/echo and maybe some basic effects. I've seen a cheap one advertised at Radio Shack (around $30) but it doesn't have very good reviews. Can anyone recommend anything. I don't want to spend more than $130 if I can help it.
I'm located in Tucson AZ

Any suggestions please?

barrybailey40 if you are in need of recording support, feel free to pm me

Another Behringer vote here...I have been playing guitar and singing for over 35 years now.I have a professional studio in my home and work sound systems for bands in Detroit and Windsor Area.
I was for years a fan of mackie boards, but they recently lost many of their top tech guys over to behringer..I was quick to follow and have no regrets
the new behringer is by far supreme.
Using a behringer here on singsnap.....Have a listen,my recordings speak for themselves......and you won't find any HISS with proper grounding and cables

The cheapest way I know if is with a guitar foot pedal delay ...about $30 at Musicians Friend....I prefer delay over reverb, It is not a mixer but gives great depth to vocals

i agree bob....even better as far as cheap goes...just use a digitech pedal...loads of effects for a cheapo price...boss prolly makes some cheap ones too....they arent exactly made for ss, and arent mixing boards, but for just adding effects on a cheap budget they work well enough for this venue

...could always just get a small acoustic amp with built in effects for a couple hundred bucks too and line-out to yer pc...that way you at least have an amp you can use for other purposes

Listened to both of these recordings and to me the Behringer sounds better... there doesn't seem much depth on the 2nd recording.

Thanks for all your suggestions.. i may well go the guitar pedal route first, though I've been dropping hints that a mixer would make a nice Christmas gift hehe
