I think that ANYTIME you're in chat....you should be in "stereo mix"...or "what u hear". Make sure you click the "settings" under YOUR picture below the chat window, then click on the little "mic" icon, and then click on the dropdown box, and make sure "stereo mix"..or "what u hear" is checked. Also make sure the "reduce echo" box is checked. Then I also right click on the little speaker icon down next to the clock....choose "adjust audio properties". When that window comes up...make sure that in the "audio" and "voice" tabs....it should also say "stereo mix" or "what u hear". It took me the LONGEST to understand that those two things mean the same. And that there are several places that need to be changed when you're moving from recording a song, to live singing in chat.

how do you add backgrounds and videos to your recordings?

I would like to know how to do this with out changing my profile pic every day...

I see people sing 2 -3 songs a day with a different pic when you go to the watch and listen page..

I know if I change my profile pic I can do this. but they are not doing that cause on some songs there profile pic is there..

I would like any and all suggestions. thanks.

Firstly, in order to change your pic on a recording, you need to either have an actual web cam, or a program like manycam. In conjunction with a webcam, there is another program that I use, called CamTrack, which allows you to add effects, slide shows, etc. You can try a free sample of that one, at digitalpeers.com.

To change the pic displayed on any given recording all you have to do is on the page where you save the recording look below the box where you can type in text and there is a box showing your cam (if you have one) live. All you have to do is the button that says something like Take Picture then once you have one you like press the button to Save Picture. Pls note that this is located in the box below the text box on the page where you save your recording. Once you've done this then press the Save Recording button at the bottom of the page like you normally would. Now you have whatever pic you Saved for that recording. This is how I do it all the time.

How do you get icons to line-up side-by-side on your profile, in a row...instead of being in a column down the page?

I can't figure it out. It's driving me crazy...lol

You can either copy the embedded link from your own stuff or friends recordings on SS and just put the link where you edit your profile...or, if you mean you want a player to play songs, you can go to www.playlist.com, create a list and then get the code to post to your profile page.
