WELCOME TO ROUND FOURTEEN – SEMI-FINALS!!! WOW….WE DID IT!!!! CONGRATS…..ALL ELVIS TRACKS HAVE NOW BEEN DONE THAT WERE HERE ON SINGSNAP BEFORE THEY STARTED ADDING THE NEW GOLD TRACKS! GREAT JOB, EVERYONE!

Before telling you how our Semi-Final Round will be done I have to do the sad part and announce our four contestants who are now out of the competition. We are to the point where wonderful talent is leaving because everyone is just bringing 100% to the performances. As I received the votes from the judges, all of them said how tough this was and how they hated to vote people out at this point. All of you are winners to me and I hope that each of you stick around for these final two rounds and share your songs with us. Would also love for you to become a judge in these final two rounds and help us decide on our overall Champ. I want to thank you for sticking this out because you have come far in this competition.

Now for the instructions on our Semi-Final Round…….Well, I know some of you didn’t think I would let all of those great new GOLD tracks go to waste. In this round we are going “SOLID GOLD”!!! 19 new tracks have been added as GOLD ONLY since we started this contest several weeks back. These will be the songs you will be singing this round. You may choose any song from the list you would like to do. I’m not going to try to have us sing all of these at this point but I did want to add these tracks to the contest. In order to make that possible….we had a few contestants going in to the Semi-Final Round who were BLUE members. I have sponsored these contestants for a month’s Gold Membership. I hope no one takes offense to this because I felt like in order to do what I wanted to do in this contest then I had to put everyone on the same level to compete and keep everything fair. I hope these few contestants will accept this sponsorship as a gift and a tool to compete. I would also like to add…that no one knew I was planning to do this so it had no bearing on who was voted out of the competition. This is one reason I did not say anything about it until it was time to do it. This is also a way I like to show my support for this wonderful site that brings us all together.

5 Contestants will be voted out in this round which will send 10 Contestants to the FINAL ROUND. The judges will be sending in their bottom 5 picks this round. I WILL NOT BE VOTING. This will be the last round the Judges will be voting anyone OUT…..In the FINAL ROUND they will be voting for our top 3 winners. NOTE: Some of our judges shared with me this last round what they are looking for in your performances so I thought I would share these with you to maybe help you a little in preparing your song entry…….It’s to the point where they are having to look for the tiniest flaw such as….melody, phrasing, staying in tune, any notes sounding off key, etc. They are not looking for “Elvis Sing Alikes”. They are looking for our contestants who handle the songs the best in their opinion. It’s gotten very difficult at this point because all of you are so talented.

***ATTENTION ALL FORMER CONTESTANTS*** (I am still looking for judges to join our other judges to help out in these final two rounds)– If you were one of the original 77 to sign up for this competition and would be willing to commit to a round or two or even all remaining rounds to help with the final judging please contact me through the pm. Also anyone who leaves the competition in the future may also contact me to help out. It does not matter how you had to leave the competition…DQ, Withdrawal or Elimination….I would love for you to help out if you can.

A Summary of the Rules

1. You must sing your song from the list using the tracks provided before the deadline or you will be disqualified. NO PRE-RECORDS! Post your song in the thread along with the name of the song and the track number from the list you used. Ladies, you may change the words to suit your gender if you would like.

2. If someone withdraws or is disqualified then that will count as one of the eliminations for this round.

3. No Drama in the thread. If you have a complaint please pm me and we’ll see if we can work it out.

6. In the “Shared Section” you may post up to 2 songs that are Elvis songs or a song that has some kind of Elvis connection. (Please state the connection if it’s not obvious) These songs are not for competition but for our listening pleasure when things get slow and do not count toward the elimination of tracks for the contest. You may share a pre-record in the shared section if you would like. I would like to see our contestants and other Gold members do some of the Gold Tracks for our shared section this round but it is not required.

7. I am not competing with you but will submit a song each round along with you. It is not required that you listen and comment on me but I do appreciate your visit and comment.

8. Last but not least – Have Fun!!!

There will be a prize for our Grand Champ! This is a beautiful hard-back book that was purchased at Graceland titled "Elvis Presley's Graceland - Official Guidebook"

There will also be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
