EVERYONE'S A WINNER BRITPOP CHALLENGE/SHOWCASE THINGY LXXXII

This challenge is open to all. It runs until Tuesday Sept 30 at 6PM EDT. Its purpose is to give people a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved. Everyone who participates is a winner.

PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES AND THE THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING

1. Post ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday. You may post a FOURTH song on or after Saturday. Your song can be a new song or one that was already recorded.

**2. For EACH song you post, listen to at least SIX other people’s songs and leave feedback. That means, if you post 2 songs you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 songs, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose.

Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what it’s about.

3. We prefer to listen to the whole song. Try not to listen to the same people every day. Give new people a chance as well.

4. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread.

5. You don't need to post a song to listen but you need to listen if you post a song. It's best to post earlier in the challenge. But you can post up until the end.

6. Please avoid making multiple posts in a row by going back and editing your posts if you left something out. You have 30 minutes after you post to add to or correct your post by using the EDIT button.

New challenge themes are announced every Tuesday at 6PM EDT.

Everyone’s A Winner Chat Room
We have our own chat room where you can sing live or just listen to and chat with others in this community. It’s a lot of fun and a great crowd of friendly people. Come hang out with your new online friends.

We have regular, rather lengthy gatherings as follows -
Thursday beginning at 7PM EDT (4PM PDT/11P GMT)
Friday at 6PM EDT (3PM PDT/11PM GMT+1). Often there’s a late Friday one too.
Saturday around 8:30PM EDT (5:30PM PDT/12:30AM GMT)
Sunday afternoon Occasionally we have Sunday gatherings
EDT=Eastern Daylight Time PDT=Pacific Daylight Time GMT=Greenwich Mean Time

But you are welcome in there at any time as long as you follow the guidelines. If you want to organize a gathering at other times, you can invite others to meet you with PMs or by mentioning it in the challenge thread.

Hard luck, you’ve got me again!

In Challenge No3 we had The British Are Coming, I thought it had been Rock but it was more general than that. That’s not good enough for me! I will make you proud Little Britain’s yet, just you wait and see!

For this week, I’d like to invite you all over across ‘the pond’ as you call it to sing Britpop!

The genre became a rebellion against the American grunge scene that was taking the music world by storm at the time. Tee hee I knew you would struggle and that's exactly why I have made it limited to the list... now you're all opting for the easy ones.

But if I remember rightly when we started these challenges it wasn't about coming here and singing easy songs we all knew, a challenge is called a challenge because it makes us tackle something new which makes us grow...

So bendy ruler is out. I went through the top 10 and found songs by all except Kula Shaker and Stone Roses (Stone Roses excellent by the way) are on here. And yes, you should know the top 10! I'm shocked at you... it isn't summer anymore you know.

I think best bet is to pick a name, any name, and then see if it is on Snap, if yes, pick a title the sound of you like in the Snap and go look it up on Youtube, most will be there.

That is how I have tackled every single challenge here and any song... I don't sing things I know! :D Remember I am in the minority when you do all your American Challenges and do I moan to you ;-)

Now quit moaning, it's not Everyone's a Moaner, it's Everyone's a Winner... :D I can wait, I've got all week! :D

Yes Jenny I don't know half the songs I sing. I really don't know an amazing number of songs at all. Even the one I keep trying to do tonight but it keep freezing I am learning. I have heard it but never sung it. It's excellent by the way! You'll just have to wait.

LOL Jenny, alright for some! Okay, I'm going to try again because I don't believe in quiting and I'm not going to just sit back so there! hehehehe.

EDIT: Jay, I love Depeche Mode! :D I don't know is the answer, are they more New Wave? Maybe check wiki - they tend to clarify stuff.

EDIT: I have been perusing those titles up here and every song I look forward to hearing... Sandy, I did not mean you had taken the easy option, I meant all those who said they would sit out and listen... I'm only just getting my reading in as I spent good grief should I admit to it, started just after 9pm, posted 3.30am... yeah, that's about right so determined am I to enjoy this challenge :D

I am so glad the school is on strike again tomorrow... So, must get some sleep, no doubt done more damage to my eyes with the bright light too... so I'll grab one or two in no particular order and really catch up tomorrow.
