This idea was born, thanks to my advisor and dear friend, ABBY. She enjoyed reading the members profiles but often could not find them when she needed to resume reading in our ever fast moving Romance Club main message board. This thread will be solely devoted to Members Spotlights and Introduction to New Members. Here, we will be able to get to know each other even better without the "noise" of other message board entries. Long live SSRC! Long live Romance! "WHEN I FALL IN LOVE" CONTEST
HER WORDS....

"I started singing gospel music at the age of 4 with my father and two sisters. The “Dubrick Family” traveled throughout Canada singing at churches and other events. We recorded an album when I was 5 (definitely not the technology we have today ... all huddled around one mic!!!). Three years later my father died suddenly of a heart attack, but my sisters and I continued singing as a trio. A few years later our trio picked up a few additional members and became “The Joyful Sound”. This group also recorded an album (a bit better than the one we made when I was 5 ... at least we each had our own mic and headphones!).

With the responsibilities of work, marriage and raising children, I gave up singing for about 10 years until I stumbled upon SingSnap, which has renewed my zeal for music. If you check out my page, you will see that I enjoy joining other SingSnap members in duets, most likely because of those early days singing harmony with my sisters. It’s funny, because from time to time I still have people approach me and say …. “I remember when you were little and had to stand on a chair to sing!"

I want to thank all of the WONDERFUL people I have met here in the RomanceClub (especially you, Poppy!). What an amazing group of friends and vocalists from all around the globe! Luv you guys!!!!!"

"Where did I learn how to sing? I don’t know if I really know how to sing but one thing for sure, I enjoy singing.

Well I guess I can thank my parents for playing those oldies but goodies songs whenever we went on vacation. My parents were big fan of Elvis Presley, Paul Anka, Platters and many more. I didn’t really like listening to these singers before, but as a kid I have no choice. One day I just found myself singing the songs and knowing the lyrics by heart.

When I was thirteen I learned to sing new songs of course by listening using my Sony walkman. At the age of seventeen I started tweaking some electronics gadgets which includes amplifiers, mixers and amplified speakers. This opened the door for me to get the DJ apprentice job and started earning my money this way. After a year my friend left for another state and I started doing the gig by myself. I went solo and started my DJ/KJ business.

I did DJ/KJ for at least three years, cater to parties by providing music for dancing, quinceanetas, sweet sixteen, 18th birthday and many other parties. KJ or karaoke disc jockey was fun because I have a chance to do my singing ala Elvis Presley (they loved this one) & Paul Anka.

Now I work as a chemist providing health care industries with medical devices that will monitor time temperature and /or steam exposure to help provide sterilization assurance."

"My gorgeous mom sang for as long as I can remember. She and my Dad were the talk of the town in their day and known as the most romantic couple. He was tall and handsome and my mom fair and a knock out ~ gorgeously beautiful. My mom often sang in the patio lounge of the local bar by the ocean in the quaint town of Ventura, California. Her every performance was known for the passionate expressions which she never ceased to amaze, along with an incredible voice. I grew up hearing and watching my mom sing in our home most every day. It is simple for me, I lived around it and it was real. I live with a song in my heart, soul and mind, mostly with a song to express my feeling & passion for LIFE itself and how I experience it! In brief, I sang in public for the first time at the age of 8, but really sang at 16. Interestingly enough, my favorite place to sing is Karaoke with Celebs at Rap parties, so kick back and fun.

When I first sang on online karaoke I didn’t think anyone was out there. I had virtually no sound system, until someone said, were all here listening. Then I realized with a huge smile, that I had an audience. I thought I was hiding from the world. I find my time here to be one of the best because it is quiet……. Nobody here live in my studio…… lol I come here and sing sing sing at the end of my day…. Yet, I have people from all over the world here with me singing and writing to me. I have made some awesome friends here and in the Romance Club. I thank you all for your words of wisdom and most of all your FRIENDSHIP!"

PRESENTING: NEUTRONGIRL AKA DANA!
HER WORDS....

My name is Dana, I love singing. My family loves to sing too. I'm originally from Philippines.I am married to a lovely German guy,named Ingo ;) We live in Germany. My kids Daniel and Alexa, also have their own site under the name "Daniel_Hockey97"

I started singing when i was 10 yrs old....even idolized a very good singer named Nora Aunor. I used to sound just like her! I then joined and won a lot of singing contests!

At 13, I sang in cocktail lounges in the American bases which eventually led to gigs abroad. At 17 when I toured Saipan, Dubai, Bahrain, Oman, Abu-Dhabi, Al-Ain, Sharjah and many other Arab Countries. I then joined Boy Mondragon's showband. Mondragon was a famous 70s singer in the Philippines. Those we’re fun days.

One day while in Dubai, I met the man from Germany who became my husband. Our wedding was in Germany!

I found out about Karaoke online from a friend I met on the internet. My first few recordings were really awful as I did not know anything about audio quality! I know I wasn't the only one, lol, but it was a great learning curve! I was also very lucky to have a neighbor who knew a lot about sound set-ups! Since then I have been helping other SS members set up their audio!

I've played in some of the worst bars that you can imagine and feel fortunate to still be alive to tell about it but never became hardened by the experience like so many who got involved in drugs, alchohol and all the rest of it. I managed to stay clear of that and find this site to be much more musically satisfying than any of my past experiences in music."

Romance Club Profile....

Romance Club was born one evening after a long enjoyable session of flitting about from one favourite Singsnapper to another. It didn't take long for like-minded listeners and temperaments to check each other's work and soon we had a little group that enjoyed listening to one another's love songs. I began to dedicate my love songs to the same name, and unbeknownst to me, those dedications grew every time I sang a romantic song. Then that one moment, I thought, why not open a message board where we could communicate about our songs to each other? That day, Romance Club was born. Here are the founding members:

Highlanders Profile..........in his own words.....

"I am a child of the Universe."

Well, where do we start? At the beginning is a good place. I was born in Scotland (Glasgow) In my infancy move to England near Manchester, I grew up with music in my heart. In my teens formed my own band (rock'n'roll). I grew older and wiser I formed a quartet (modern jazz) piano/doublebass/vibraphone-guitar/drums.
Steadily moved towards middle of the road stuff. Went solo later on and did the resorts at Tenerife/La Manga/Cyprus etc and also did the cruise liners, but that's old hat now. Now I just love to sing and play locally where I know that I can get some time to myself and am not always on the go. It was a good life but after a while you have to ease up a little lol.

Do I have any ambitions left well yes I do... To be with someone who I love dearly but having to wait. Praying for the day.

I'm just a normal guy living in Northern Virginia. Not a pro singer here but singing is what makes me tick.

Although I listen mostly to pop and R&B, quite a bit of rock and rap nowadays, my choice of music varies a lot depending on my mood. Having interest in music at a young age, the genre I consider my all time faves are mostly the 80's."

SPOTLIGHT ON "RAUL ELADIO"

I haven't accomplished any of the weekly goals listed below...but I will...even if takes me another hundred years. I plan to live five hundred more, if no asteroids or comets hit the earth before.

I love most Broadway music, and I sometimes get inspired to write fiction. Starting a novel (again) by seeing where several short stories I wrote actually fit in a longer piece of work.

I think Mario Lanza was the greatest singer I've ever heard.

I loved and love Joni James, Tony Bennett, Vic Damone, Frank Sinatra, Al Martino, Glenn Miller, Ray Anthony, and Harry James songs. Joni James, while I was in college, was like a sweetheart to accompany me in lonely nights.

My list of best five songs ever: Stardust, All The Way, All The Things You Are, Stranger in Paradise, With a Song in My Heart. There maybe others that may compete to get in that list. As I wrote this, those are the five that first came to mind. There is, for example, Again (Billy Eckstine), I Apologize (Billy Eckstine), This Nearly Was Mine (South Pacific), If I Loved You (Carrousel), and so on. September Morn, by Neil Diamond, is very special to me.

Doris Day has always been great, sweet, and lovely. She was the top draw of the fifties, and I'll always remember her songs for they remind me of great moments in my life.

Gordon McRae and Shirley Jones were the best couple for great musicals on the screen.

Sure wish SS would consider more ballads and Broadway songs.

Some contests are more popularity contests than anything else.

Plans for this week (I'll keep doing them for the rest of my llife, I think).

Today I'm going to try something different: sky diving. Talk to you when (and if) I get back...I've also got a list of things to do for the rest of this week:

1/ Take a ride in a new kind of flying saucer.

2/ Dive with a sperm whale to the bottom of the Marianas Trench.

3/ Ride the wave of a tsunami across the Pacific Ocean.

4/ Ride a laser guided bomb right into you know who's gut and wipe him out for good...but I get to live to tell..

5/ Make a trip to the past on my Time Machine (Borrowed it from H. G. Wells). Maybe I'll go back to Neanderthal times and recruit a few for the new TV series about them.

6/ Produce my own musical for the movies, a la forties and fifties.

7/ Discover human life in another solar system.

8/ Use seaweed to rid the atmosphere of CO2.

9/ Ride an elephant over the Alps.

10/ Take the Polar Express to wherever it goes.

11/ Travel into a Black Hole and live to tell...

12/ Fly a Star Wars fighter airplane around a Death Star.

13/ Have a light-sword fight with Darth Vader...I can beat him.

14/ Find Excalibur and pull it out of the rock...I just may be King Arthur.

15/ Meet Al Gore (and beat him, of course) in a debate about Global Warming. What a quack that guy is!!!!

16/ Find a gold mine under my house"

My name is Angie, I live near Dallas, Texas. I have 4 kids, Matthew is 13, TJ is 10, Zach is 8, and Miranda is 3. We all love to sing and hope to spend many fun hours on this site! My picture is from the Dallas Stars game on 4/20/08 - playoff game - we won! This is me and my best friend playing our flutes at her cousin's wedding!

I have been singing since I was a small child. I grew up singing in church choirs and school plays and graduated to playing the flute in the band as a teenager. I rediscovered my love of singing as an adult when a local club featured karaoke one night a week. I ended up working as a karaoke dj a couple of nights a week, tried out for Nashville Star and performed in our local opry. Now I have Singsnap! It enables me and my children to sing without having to go to a smoky bar or rearrange our schedules!"

"I love to sing and I just want to thank all of the wonderful people who take time to have a listen to my songs..I have made some wonderful friends through this site and I want to thank them for their kind words and encouragement.

I am an almost 50 year old man, was married for 17 years but have been divorced for the past 8 years.. As a young fellow i sang in a band for a couple of years but life took over and i didnt touch a microphone for 30 years.

I thought that I had met the love of my life after my divorce and we were together for 5 years. Alas, I was wrong and had a lot of trouble coming to terms with the loss of this relationship..It was at this time in my life that a friend of mine who is a professional singer asked me over for dinner.. After dinner she took me downstairs to her recording studio and we put down 3 tracks..I had not sung for many years.. I just loved the result and I have been singing ever since.

I have 3 children from my marrigae and was a single dad for many years.( the is nothing I cant mend, cook or talk about LOL) I have a 22 year old son who is a chef, a 20 year old daughter ( she still lives with me..If anyone can give me some clues how to get her to move out I would be grateful LOL ) and my youngest son is 18.
I have just entered into a new relationship with someone I met on the net who arrived from France a couple of weeks ago.. That is going great. Cheers Russ"

I can remember singing in my early age ... elementary school ..maybe 3rd grade. And in high school ... I learned to play the guitar and ended singing on every school activity. Back in the Philippines we used to go serenading .. that was fun!

I love The Beatles, Cliff Richards, The Who and most 60's and 70's bands. But even when I was young I was always fascinated with Standards -artists like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Darin, not to mention..Ella Fitzgerald, & Sarah Vaughn. "As a child, I always wanted to be a singer and/or actress. Mother was in show business. Guess it's in the blood! Hi, I am 55 year's old and I have one married daughter and I am a grandmother of two. I love music, and singing. Started singing when I was 10 for my family. I sang in my church choir, sang in high school chorus and was very active in drama clubs. Also took some vocal lessons in Opera. During my adult life, when I had my daughter and worked full time, I kind of stepped away from the singing acting career for awhile. Especially after having throat surgery. My voice changed. (Had my thyroid removed). Love to be in the middle of attention and around people. I'm a people person...never judgemental and always compassionate with human mankind.. Respect and integrity are so important to me...and when that is received, than you've earned my friendship for life. So let's enjoy ourselves. Life is short. Have fun and pursue our singing and acting goals. Remember nothing is impossible...keep reaching high for those stars and keep on singing! "

Im 35, married, and have 1 child and 2 step children. I enjoy Kareoke (my dad was a Kareoke DJ), spending time with my children and husband, and vegging out at home because I work the night shift. I work, sleep, work, sleep, and when I do have time I'm on the PC. My best friend of over 20 years (altho we used to be a couple) told me about Singsnap, and I have become addicted. I may not be the greatest singer, but I hope you do enjoy your listen.

Singing has always been a part of my family. My Dad was a Kareoke DJ. He would do wedding receptions, parties, etc. I, too, have always enjoyed singing. I used to have to have alcohol in my system before I would sing in front of people. However, I did Kareoke one night sober and was told I should continue singing because I have a nice singing voice. I didnt believe what I was hearing. However, because I have enjoyed singing so much, I really enjoy it as a hobby. I may not be the best, but I don't try to be.

I married my husband on May 5, 2007, in a park chapel. I have always thought being married outside was so romantic. I still believe it is to this day. I have started following a religion before I met my husband that believes in nature. My husband and I did not have a very good start. As a matter of fact, we both hated each other when we first met. Something about him, however, kept drawing me to him. He moved in with my mom, me, and my daughter in July 2006 because he was homeless. It was supposed to be a 2 wk. trial. Almost 2 years later, he is still here with me and my daughter, we are married, and I love him more every day. We both are romantics and love to keep the romance alive in our marriage."

"Hi every one. My name real is Magda Nieves but all my friends call me Maggie, I am 51 years young, I am separated and I live in New York city. I have 2 children a girl, her name is Shana and she just had her birthday on the 14 of this month and she is 19.
I also have a son, who is in the Navy and station in Japan, and his birthday is today he will be 34.
I have two Chihuahua, the female named Shawnee and Dakota the little male. They are my babies and I spoil them to death.

I am Hematologist, but not working right now. I am looking to open a business with my daughter and I am devoting all my time in the business. I am also planning to move from NYC. But I am not sure where I want to live, I do know that I don‘t want to live in the city any more. I guess it’s my starting over again, and rediscovering my self, a new beginning in the chapter of my life.

I have been a Sing Snap member since September 19, 2006, I do not sing professional like some people I have met here. In fact I just started singing when I join sing snap. My
Daughter ask if I could sing her a song by Britney Spears, called I’m a slave. And she
dared me to sing it on sing snap. So I did and I got hooked and been singing ever since.
Some of my hobbies besides singing is dancing and writing poems. I write dark poems which are a little raw and some times can Be very sensual and freighting in nature. But all so beautiful. I enjoy love, thrillers, mysteries and vampire movies, also love reading about them. But I also love comedy and enjoy going to comedy clubs with my friends, and also attend poetry readings.
I also love drawing and painting. My daughter also writes beautiful dark love poems and she is also writing a book which she does her own illustrations. She is also a wonderful artist. She takes after her mom. She is the one who design my profile page and gave me my screen name DarkAngelRose.

I also enjoy doing crafts and cooking. I can cook almost anything but because I was just recently diagnosed with celiac, I had to learn how to cook with out any wheat or flour, rye products. And boy did I miss things like pizza and pastas, and cakes, But now I can make my own pizza, and pasta and the best flourless brownies that melt in your mouth, lol. What is really hard for me is dining out. There are not to many restaurants that serve gluten free food. The most difficult part about dinning out is I have to ask if there any flour in the food and when they asked why? I have to explain that I have a celiac and what it is.

But what I love to do most is just meet people and chatting with them and making new friends.
Well that just a little about me. To tell you guys the truth I don’t like writing about my self cause
I never know what to say. Thank you for allowing me to tell you a little bit about my self.

MIKEEK PROFILE... IN HER OWN WORDS:

My real name is Michail A. Most people dont know how to pronounce my name right and sometimes even I myself dont know how to pronounce it,lol. Im located in Toronto, Canada but originally from Philippines. My name was supposedly Michelle but maybe the person typing the certificate was tired that day, and mispelled my name! My parents discovered the error only when they enrolled me for school. They often called my attention about my name so finally, I started using the misspelled name Michail when I was in Grade IV and in Grade V. It was a constant conflict when five teachers called me in five different names!

Once during Recognition Day at our school, I was nominated for an award. The teacher told us that we had to introduce ourselves and tell the audience what award we were receiving. When it was my turn, I ended up saying: " Hi, my name is Michael, Michelle, Mikhail, Mikayla, Mickael!" What a long story about my name, huh?

I am proud to be Pinoy!!(Fond nickname for Filipino) I come from a big family. I am the eldest of 8 kids. My family loves to sing. I had always loved singing. Being the eldest, it was my task to put my younger siblings to sleep when they were little. I recall that with the 3 younger ones, I used to spend an hour or so singing! It was like having a mini-concert during the kids' nap time! Boy do I miss those times now. I love singing ballads - you know, the type of songs that always put kids to sleep, lol.

I grew up loving the Stylistics, Bread, America and Styx because my father loved those boy groups a lot! Can I add that Im a big big fan of Elliot Yamin?

Hello fellow romantics! About me? Well, I'm still enjoying my being single-blessedness! I work in a reputable airline industry. I love to sing (obviously) and I also love to paint.

For me, singing is the window to anyone's soul. Music reveals a man's personality and sensitivity. I love ballads and romantic songs and I think they are my forte.

I sing when I'm happy and I sing when I'm sad, so sue me! I find that whenever I'm inlove I sing even more!

About me....

I am just a simple Asian who was born in Germany and still live there. I come originally from Vietnam. My father was an immigrants as like my mother. We used to live in a small village.

My passion for music was already in my earlier age. When I was small my mother always played some old records from Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey or some Asian artists.

I love every kind of music (kpop, Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Englisch, Tagalog, Spanish, French etc..)

I started singing Karaoke at ksolo.com and I found a lot of friends from all corners of the world. Some of those friends are also here now on Singsnap, (like my friend Poppy).

I hope that i can perform a song one day on a big stage. Even if I dont have much experience on stage I know I can learn so I could be more confident in my singing.

My life has been hard but it is getting better and better each day. We are all living in a hard world with some small doors which God always opens for us. I believe that even when we feel alone, our guardian angels are watching over us.

"I am a simple lady born to a big brood of family who loves music. I would say, my first influence in my passion for music is my family. As a kid, I remember my Mom gathering all of us in the living area during our free time on Sundays. She, being a teacher, would ask each of us to sing either SOLO or would ask one of us to do the second voice to her or my father’s singing. So at an early age, we learned to do outright harmonizing but most of the time “invented” tunes from us hahahahaha! But my Mom never said a word to discourage us to keep trying. It was my eldest sister who was the best singer followed by our eldest brother.

One funny thing I remember as a child, each time my Mom has a visitor, she would call me and place me on top of a chair or table and made to sing no matter how I detest. I was always the shy girl. Each time I sense there’s other people around the house, I’d hurriedly hide under the bed and never come out till they are gone. I love singing though but only in the bathroom, that was until I graduated in high school. All ten of us (yes, 10! – 5 girls and 5 boys) know how to sing but sadly our youngest is not so blessed with the voice though he loves singing.

It was one of my younger sisters who encouraged me and prodded me to sing in public as she believes I can sing and that I had a lovely voice. I started joining church choir (good enough because we were made to sing at the background – choir’s corner from the altar and won’t be seen haha! still the chicken Me) and when I got my job, I was made to join the company chorale group too. Slowly, I began to get accustomed seeing people and being seen by the crowd yet still, I feel the comfort having company in front of the stage and not ALONE. Lol!

So, if you hear me singing my heart out here, it is by grace…. I am glad I had a friend (big big THANKS to him) who introduced me to these awesome singing sites where I can sing, scream on top of my lungs because I do not have AUDIENCE wahahahahaha!

My inspiration??? Well, next to my family’s songs (lol) I love listening to DionNE Warwick, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Anne Murray, lots more….and even the jazz singers. I prefer classic, mellow/easy-listening music though thus, my favorite ID mellow_touch. You would also find some of my songs on Youtube being mellowmarix woohoo… the shy marix’ voice is all exposed….only the person behind the voice is INVISIBLE hahaha!

Lastly but certainly not the least, my current favorite now, after being exposed to choir singing is HAYLEY WESTENRA. Find out about her and you will understand why I love her and her voice!"

PROFILE OF THE NAME "POPPY"
Here's a bit of history about Poppy in Canada:

Each November, Poppies blossom on the lapels and collars of over half of Canada’s entire population. Since 1921, the Poppy has stood as a symbol of Remembrance, our visual pledge to never forget all those Canadians who have fallen in war and military operations. The Poppy also stands internationally as a “symbol of collective reminiscence”, as other countries have also adopted its image to honour those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

This significance of the Poppy can be traced to international origins.

The association of the Poppy to those who had been killed in war has existed since the Napoleonic Wars in the 19th century, over 110 years before being adopted in Canada. There exists a record from that time of how thickly Poppies grew over the graves of soldiers in the area of Flanders, France.
This early connection between the Poppy and battlefield deaths described how fields that were barren before the battles exploded with the blood-red flowers after the fighting ended.

Just prior to the First World War, few Poppies grew in Flanders. During the tremendous bombardments of that war, the chalk soils became rich in lime from rubble, allowing “popaver rhoes” to thrive. When the war ended, the lime was quickly absorbed and the Poppy began to disappear again.

The person who was responsible more than any other for the adoption of the Poppy as a symbol of Remembrance in Canada and the Commonwealth was Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae,

i live in a state shaped like a frying pan...AND I HATE TO COOK!!! i am naturally blonde and went to college...i have 8 beautiful children and 2 grandbabies!!! THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE ALL OF THEM...NO i didn't have them all (well i had 7 of them)... i am proud of each of them and would walk through the desert..come hell or high water!!they each have a special place in my heart...I LOVE YOU BABIES!!!

so this is me...i've been beatin...divorced...single...married again to a bigot and a con man (and believe me i am bein REAL NICE)...single again...thinkin bein single is safer and darn sure CHEAPER!!i had a rough childhood...got made fun of all the time because i'ma tom-boy and probably the most honest person you will ever meet in yer life...if i don't like you i DO NOT havin a problem lettin you know...i have raised my kids by myself most of their lives...and i have sacraficed more than anyone will ever know for their happiness...i am very old fashioned in how i raised them...thats what's wrong with these children today...if i only knew in my 20's what i know now in my em....later years...I WOULD BE SOOOO RICH!! mostly... my children learn from my example..i'm not a Dictator...i am not a TEACHER..i am a PARENT

"My gorgeous mom sang for as long as I can remember. She and my Dad were the talk of the town in their day and known as the most romantic couple. He was tall and handsome and my mom fair and a knock out ~ gorgeously beautiful. My mom often sang in the patio lounge of the local bar by the ocean in the quaint town of Ventura, California. Her every performance was known for the passionate expressions which she never ceased to amaze, along with an incredible voice. I grew up hearing and watching my mom sing in our home most every day. It is simple for me, I lived around it and it was real. I live with a song in my heart, soul and mind, mostly with a song to express my feeling & passion for LIFE itself and how I experience it! In brief, I sang in public for the first time at the age of 8, but really sang at 16. Interestingly enough, my favorite place to sing is Karaoke with Celebs at Rap parties, so kick back and fun.

When I first sang on online karaoke I didn’t think anyone was out there. I had virtually no sound system, until someone said, were all here listening. Then I realized with a huge smile, that I had an audience. I thought I was hiding from the world. I find my time here to be one of the best because it is quiet……. Nobody here live in my studio…… lol I come here and sing sing sing at the end of my day…. Yet, I have people from all over the world here with me singing and writing to me. SPOTLIGHT ON "GARCI AKA JOEL GARCIA"

HIS OWN WORDS....

"I guess a lot of people already know how I came up with the name Garci, for those who are not aware, my real name is Joel Garcia...get it? Garci...a. I'm not really a singer, I was actually known back in high school as a dancer. A lot of my friends actually got surprised when they found out that I can sing too. Although I was also member of our school choir, I did not take singing that seriously..I was only taught to sing as back up or second voice to harmonize with the main vocalist's of the choir...I guess I found a good use for that here, hehe.

My addictiveness to Karaoke first started with Sing Shot. Friends of mine Grace aka "Goddess" and Conrad aka "Vivid-con" introduced me to this world of online karaoke. It was actually just for fun at first but eventually I found myself winning contests and I was so surprised to see my list of fans growing, which I thought was pretty cool knowing that I was only tripping out on the site. Well, actually I injected a little bit of humor in all of the songs I sang there...I'm not a pro you know, I was really just enjoying myself...I guess a lot of people found it entertaining.

Sing Snap totally made my dream of becoming a recording artist come true. Well, in the internet world that is…It’s about the closest thing I can get to being famous in real life. It is like an escape for me..An imaginary world you could say, where I am a star, and people would listen to me sing and leave their wonderful comments behind for me to serve as my inspiration…a far cry from all the stress that I get from work in real life. I guess everybody feels the same way here..Admit it! Lol!

I have met a lot of wonderful people on Sing Snap, also done a lot of duets and collaborations with a lot of great talents here, I created the "Pss Allstars" (links at the bottom)

One of the perks of being a member of Snap is that you get to sing with the pro's. I remember when I was young; my dad was in the entertainment industry, particularly broadcast media. He had worked with a lot of celebrities during that time and I recalled him talking about "Amapola" who I eventually discovered to be our very own Poppy..and here I am privileged enough to sing a couple of songs with her...not to mention the friendship that I am very fortunate to have found with this Awesome Diva...If my dad only knew, hehe.

The emergence of forums such as the PSS and the Romance Clubs in the site, serve not only as a venue for promoting ones recordings, but building camaraderie and cooperation and also tighten the bond of friendship with the members of the snap community. This has taken Snap to a whole new level which I am proud to say that I'm a part of.

More power to you Popz and the Romance Club...Let me thank you guys in my own language if I may...

SPOTLIGHT ON "DIANATREVINO"

I am 41 years old, I live in Texas/USA, and I have been a Singsnap member since July 20, 2007. So far I have made a total of 293 recordings.

DIANATREVINO, IN HER OWN WORDS...

My name is Diana Trevino, but some people also call me Donna or Diane. I live in a small town in Texas. It maybe small, but it is a nice, quiet place to live. I am married and I have two children, one girl, Cory (brahmas2010) and one boy, Tres (ttrevino96). Without my children, I do not know what I’d do. They are my life.

I enjoy singing a different variety of songs. I started singing when I was 5 years old. In church, my mother would give me a dollar for each time I went up to the podium to sing. In church, I was part of the youth group, and enjoyed singing at church conventions. I sing at weddings, quinceneras, and funerals. I love to sing anything from jazz to country to spanish. I grew up in a house where music was always playing.

Music talent runs in my family. My father played violin, guitar, saxophone, and clarinet. He also loved to sing. One of my nephews is a band director and loves to play trombone. My other nephew is a music major who loves playing saxophone and jazz music. Another nephew plays guitar. My son plays trombone, and my daughter plays oboe, piano, and xylophone. The list goes on and on, but there are too many to list…lol.

My favorite artists are Linda Ronstadt, Barbra Streisand, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, and Trisha Yearwood. There are more than that, but these are my most favorite ones. I enjoy hearing any kind of music in any language. I love the seventies music though. My sister often played it when I was younger.

My favorite hobbies are singing, working in my garden, spending quality time with my family, and getting involved with my children’s school.

My favorite foods are anything that contains chicken. Such as, chicken salad, chicken soup, chicken tacos, arroz con pollo (chicken and rice), and chicken fajitas. Enough of the chicken, I also love Chinese food. I also like some seafood.

My mother was my inspiration; she loved to hear me sing. There were times when I would sing her to sleep when it was my weekend to care for her. How I miss her dearly but the beautiful memories will always be in my heart and I will cherish them forever.

"My name is Monique, I was born and raised in Quebec, Canada . I have been married 38 years and my husband and I will be celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary next August. Our family moved around a lot, we spent four years in Germany and then moved back to Canada to finally settle here in Montreal, Quebec. I'm the mother of a 37 year old daughter who is our pride and joy. She's now the mother of a three year old boy that we simply adore.
This doesn't sound too romantic I guess or maybe it does!.....My husband and I never "planned" or "expected " much out of life. We never planned on getting married, but we did, we never planned on having a child but we did, we never planned on moving out of the country but we did, we never planned on having fun but we did we did not have very many expectations but neither did we get too many deceptions but don't you kid yourself, since we were aware that life never promised us a rose garden we knew it would not always be " La Vie En Rose."..lol.... but..... that's life and we both love it !!!!

I used to "teach" children with "special needs" but they actually were the real teachers. I'm now retired, still learning and experimenting . The arts are my main interest right now. I paint and do portrait and have had the opportunity to expose and sell some of my work. I also sculpt using paper as my medium . The final product is a nativity scene that has been selling over and behond my expectations. Thanks to a friend of mine who suggested after a visit to my house that I exposed my nativity scenes . So, when my hands are not full of paint or glue...lol...I sometimes write lyrics and songs for my old 12 string guitar and spend some time singing on the web.

Lyrics that are wrote in the late 70's. My daughter was my source of inspiration:

Hello My Friends!

I'm from the UK, London. Spent eight years in the Army (Royal Military Police) Then I moved to Tenerife, Spain as a Tour Guide and Entertainer. While there I met and fell in love with a nice Finnish girl and moved on to Finland
with her where we got married and now have two young boys David & John.

I studied Art and Finnish and became an Art Teacher in High School. My wife Rauni was already an Art Teacher. I also gave classes in Ballroom & Latin Dancing in the
evenings as I was already a dancer from my days way back and hold a Gold Medal.

To make extra money I also played my guitar and sung around in the fancy cafes in Helsinki as a Troubadour. Later on I got some gigs on Cruise Ships as an Entertainer as I could speak English, Spanish and Finnish.

My favorite singers, and the singers that have inspired my vocal styling are Frank Sinatra, Harry Belafonte, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Barry Manilow, Elvis Presley and a few other crooners out there. I love ballads and romantic
songs plus Spanish and Calypso songs which I sing a lot on board ship.

SPOTLIGHT ON "LUVTSNG"

HI I’m Luvtsng
and I am happy to be a Romance Club Member.
I met my husband at a YMCA dance on January 15th . At that time I was a student attending my Senior year in High School. He was a Sailor in the Navy at that time, and had year and a half left.

My life would never be the same after meeting my sailor, the night I met him, that night ended , and I wasn’t sure if I’d ever go back, but I would go on to think about him the rest of the week that followed.

I never gave him my phone number, he knew my last name, but my last name was different than my mothers, so he could not find me in the phone book. He knew the district I lived in but not the school I was attending. There were five high schools he had called four of them. Finally on Thursday, while attending class I was called to the office, my Principle said there was someone on the phone that said he was with the YMCA committee and would like to talk to me. I was so relieved I thought I was busted for skipping my first period history class. The Principle said you don’t have to talk to this person, I said it was ok, I wanted to talk to him. I thought it was my cousin’s boyfriend. But it wasn’t.

And then it was him, my sailor. I almost dropped the phone, and said while the principle kept his ears close by, “my sailor said to me are you coming to the dance on Saturday?,” and I said while the principle has the secretary and the vice principle standing around the principle’s door, I said “I would be happy to help out at the YMCA dance” my sailor says so I’ll see you on Saturday. I said yes, then quietly I said , why are you calling my school he replied , I didn’t have your number , I responded, ok I’ll see you on Friday.

Of course they knew from where he was calling from that he was a sailor....my principle proceeded to tell me, I would go away with my sailor and never come back . Also to beware, sailors will tell you what ever you want to hear.
I just told my principle, I’m going to a dance, to dance not to get married.
So I met him Jan. and was married on May 1st, On May Day.
We were married on the Naval Base by a Chaplin, who had counseled us for two weeks prior, what I remembered the most was communicating, always talk to one another.

He is my soul mate. My one true love. And there are never enough hours or days to show or tell each other how much we love each other, we never grow tired of one another, each day is a new day with love never ending. I went from a very secure home to being married and a navy wife. A new world for me.

I took a chance on love, for love is a chance, one can only hope you grow together, I knew the first time our eyes met, he was the one for me, though I never told him that. He is my dream come true, the happy ever after, the fairytale story that little girls believe in, well sometimes you really do marry your prince, your white knight.

GYPSYINK'S OWN WORDS....

"ANNELLE is my real name and I would like to share with you sketches of my life…….

AS AN ARTIST

Portraiture and caricature are my first loves!
At a young age, the pencil has always been my closest “buddy”. I vividly remember my kindergarten days when I loved to draw mountains and panoramic landscapes. I always used them in my art sketches. Our teacher was fond of countryside settings and my outputs caught her attention. To my surprise, she then used my drawings as samples for her illustrations. When submission of final drawings was required, my classmates would queue for my mountain sketches and amusingly I would doodle on their supposedly personal artworks. My love for the arts was further honed when I joined poster-making contests and caricature competitions. The experience was like a joyful trip! Bringing home awards and citations made the journey more fun and exciting.

In high school, I started doing caricature portraits of my classmates using my buddy pencil as medium. My entrepreneurial experience started when my classmates would ask me to sketch portraits to be given as gifts for their special someone. I would then charge them a minimal cost for materials used. To some, my labor was “gratis” It was an amazing feel when orders poured in.

AS A WRITER

Coupled with the above craft, my buddy pencil married the ballpen…lol! We were a “team” in my academic days. I have written articles for our school organ being a staff writer and columnist. This carried on until my present job in the corporate world. My team mates (pencil and ballpen) eventually found a new friendship with the computer. They are almost due for retirement since the more preppie, yuppie and obviously techie “mouse and keyboard” dominated the scene. At present, I am into technical writing and at the same time moonlighting as editorial news writer and feature columnist for our corporate newsletter. It is no easy job being submerged into the sea of documents and files considering deadlines to beat. I have gotten used to that “unfriendly” word RUSH!…..you know, that’s the brother of “pressure” and the sister of “stress”….so familiar are they!!

The power of the “pen” is still mighty! I did ghost writings for love letters as requested by my officemates. Oh yes! the fruit of being a hopeless romantic…lol! I have written all kinds of love letters…….empathizing with the senders and recipients….feeling their emotions, thinking their thoughts and understanding their beliefs….conveying messages from physical attraction, courtship to love and romance. Some of them have ended in marriage of which I became a godmother in their weddings!

AS A MUSIC LOVER and SINGER

The mic is mighter than the pen…that’s a personal truth for me in SS…lol! We all love music and that’s the very reason we are gathered here. That certain saying “Music is the language of the soul” is absolutely correct. Singing is not only a respite from the hustle and bustle of life but a great healing antidote to the wounds of our soul.

My exposure to music started when my maternal grandfather taught me how to play the guitar at age 8. He was a musician, singer, instrumentalist, playwright, novelist, essayist, artist, among many other talents --- a gifted person and my idol for all seasons! He taught me how to read notes and chords, how to pluck and strum and how to appreciate the guitar as one vital instrument in the melody of a song. I was devastated when he died but his music lived on in my heart forever. Until today, singing and guitar playing are such sweet friends keeping me company in both good and bad times.

The age of karaoke beckoned a new challenge in my singing career….(as if I have one….lol!!) when my co-workers introduced me to a karaoke / videoke site near the office. After we “call it a day”, we’d go there and jam, belt out notes within and outside our voice ranges, cheer and root for high scores…..in pure FUN….savoring the bonding moments and as SingSnap’s welcome note says: “Making Friendships One Song at a Time!

An SS member and “addict” since January 13, 2008, I have made a total of 43 recordings. I share the gift of music that God has all blessed us with. My humble task of moderating at the Message Board, when time and schedule permits, is done for the love of Romance Club where I, and everybody else, have found a place to come home to and a family to belong to."

ABOUT GLESGAMAN AKA JIM DOCHERTY, WRITTEN BY POPPY

Jim Docherty aka Glesgaman has performed extensively throughout the world in various venues, musical theatre productions and cruise ships. Born and raised in Glasgow Scotland , Jimmy now lives in Australia and has been a naturalised "Aussie" for 46 years. In his long career as a professional singer, he drew his repertoire from standard and contemporary hits, favorite Broadway shows, operas and familiar international tunes. He sings in several genres and languages but has now declared that he doesn't have the lungs for singing anymore, which of course is contrary to what we hear. Hi to you all, I am just popping by to say hello to you all and to wish you all a lovely week next week!!

Well You all know my dad here as Paladon, well he is the most special dad in the world to me and it is his birthday on the 22 of may!
He is such a wonderful and determined person that i would like to give him a special mention and dedication, as he has been through a lot in his life, but know matter what he has been through he has always been there for me and has proved to me in my life that you should never give up on your dreams no matter what happens in your life!

He bought me up single handed, he was both a mum and dad for me and was always there, even though he had a serious accident many years ago! and my mum walked out on us as she said she did not want to live with a cripple!
Well my father was told that he would never walk again, but he said he would prove everybody wrong! and I have to say he certainly done that! everybody who knows him knows how hard he worked to get back on his feet, the doctors where amazed! after several operations and him fighting everything he decided to prove he was as good as anybody else and would not just sit back and do nothing so he created a garden where we we used to live and opened it to the public to raise funds for many charities, and also for the hospital where he had many operations! he also won gardener of the year in the whole of the UK top award, this then inspired him to do the ultimate which was to move here on our Scottish Island to create the garden here and to rebuild the cottage!

I would like to say that he is the most wonderful and kind person in the world and he has learned me soooo much in my life, and we are a great team!! and have done many things together! I will always appreciate everything he has done for me, he is simply the best!!!
I could go on for ever what he has been through! but suffice to say he is a marvelous and wonderful father! I love you dad!!
And i dedicate this song to him, it is one of our favorite songs that we sung a duet off "Tomorrow is for ever"!

So I hope that you will join in and celebrate his birthday on the 22 of may!!

Hello I'm from Scotland, UK. I love singing, it's always been my hobby but I also love to listen to others. MEET KINUKARAOKE!!!

Kinukaraoke is 54 years old, is located in Quebec / Canada and has been a SingSnap member since May 15, 2007. So far she has made a total of 748 recordings.

KINUKARAOKE, HER OWN WORDS:

I'm 54 years old and I have been singing since I was less than a year old...I've been told. My mother said that I sang clear as a bell even at that age...no baby talk here! My first song was BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP and the rest is history! Singing is not a hobby or pasttime; it's a PASSION! I need to sing, like I need to breath!

I have been involved with school choirs and music clubs in Montreal. I was in KISMET back in '74, and many amateur musical reviews, including my interpretation of I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOVE HIM as Mary Magdalene. We just finished doing ANYTHING GOES...I was just part of the chorus! It was my first year back to live theatre since '81. I wasn't even nervous this year. I think that because I perform on here daily with or without costumes or props my inhibitions have vanished.

Now, I just love to perform. I crave to do more LIVE KARAOKE but there aren't too many places that do that around my home anymore! I have to go out of my way and that isn't always possible!

I cry at the drop of a hat, even during commercials. Whether the hormones are working overtime or not (menopause), I am a sucker for an intense romantic movie (NOTEBOOK, GHOST etc.).

When I sing a song, any song, I get into the "role" I'm playing and emote the song. People have commented that I look like I'm crying sometimes. Depending on the song, sometimes I am on the verge of tears or I'm crying outrightly. I am not shy to show my emotions! I wear my heart on my sleeve! WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!!

I sound like a cat with it's tail caught in a door. Because of my soprano voice, I've been told to just "shut up" on occasion, until I came here. I don't feel so shut out anymore. Thank you for giving me the confidence to go on.I'm 54 and have been singing as long as I can remember. I was involved in amateur theatre groups in Montreal for a few years and in school and church choirs. I love to sing the classics like the "Messiah" and I love Broadway music. Music is my passion and it gives me great joy (much to the dismay of some of my friends). I harmonize with the radio, CD's and anyone who plays guitar. I can't stop...so I don't. I'm totally addicted to Karaoke and for Christmas, my husband bought me a "Singing Machine". I haven't used it much since joining SS and SSnap, but it is part of my living room furniture, waiting for when the mood comes over me/us. I have met so many nice people through these Karaoke sites. We all have the passion and we are all on common ground. It bridges the continents, age groups and genders. Thank you for being a part of my new "world".

ANGELGIRL, IN HER OWN WORDS....

Angel lives in Sacramento, California with her family (which includes 2 teenaged sons aged 19 and 16, a cat named Maisy, and a girl beagle dog named Scout... get it? "Girl Scout" or "Beagle Scout"?? LOL!) She used to be a Corporate Human Resources Manager for a big insurance company, but quit 10 years ago to volunteer at her children's elementary school. She never looked back....

Angel is happiest when she is surrounded by people and/or is singing and doing her artwork. Before she found the online Karaoke communities, she spent most of her days happily creating her own line of original photo-art stationery (which she sells at craft fairs and boutiques) on her beloved iMac.

One day while surfing YouTube, Angel stumbled onto a SingShot/SingSnap member who said, "Check out this new site (SingShot)"... The rest is history! Angel joined with a commitment, and sings (badly, she says!) as often as she can to relieve her stress and just to relax. She readily admits her addiction to SingSnap and the pleasure she gets from playing with all her online friends. Her therapist says this is a good, healthy addiction and she should do it for the rest of her life. (Kidding! LOL!)

Angel is especially glad to have joined the SSRC and wants to say how much she has enjoyed meeting all the wonderful new people in this fantastic group.

My name is John, I'm 51 years old, married for 33 years to my first love and I was born and raised in the Ayr, Scotland, UK.

I have 3 weans (kids) , all married and away now with weans of their own. My eldest boy is now living in Utah, USA he has two boys, my middle one Christine lives in Scotland and has two boys and my Youngest also lives in Scotland he has two girls.

I'm retired due to illness thankfully not life threatning in any way, I love singing and spending time with my family. I did do karaoke's for a wee while but not anymore. I love playing lawn green bowls and watching Football. I'm very easy to get on with and ROMANTIC as well, :). I'm looking forward to meeting new friends.

I love singing and music in general, my music tastes are wide. My favourite pass time is to sing. I've alway's loved singing but not until the past 5 or six years have i really had the courage to do it live. My favourite artists are Jim Reeves, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra and Patsy Cline, and many more. JDBIZZ11, IN HER OWN WORDS....

My name is Joanne. I am located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am a proud mother of 3. My daughters are 24 & 22. My son is 21. I am a grand mother of 2 girls. Who have brought so much joy to my life.

I started singing when I was 5. My father used to play the Concertina. He just played for his enjoyment. He would teach me the words to polkas and waltz's. When I turned 8. I teamed up with another girl singer. We were called "The Peppermints". Heinnamins Candy Company sponsored us. We sang for parties, nursing homes and talent shows, etc. We sang on local TV about 4 times and opened up a new shopping mall. Which is still known as Bay Shore Mall here. We sang together for about 2 years.

As I got older I sang with local bands here - started out singing country, then went into a variety of music.

I got married in 1983 to a musician. We started our own band. We sang all over Wisconsin. Our band performed in night clubs, parties, resorts, weddings, anniversaries, picnics. As fate would have it - we divorced in 1992. I left the singing behind to take care of our children.

Now I just sing for fun. I'll sing for family functions, or benefits. Or I'll do a "fill-in". I like to go to Night Clubs once in awhile and sing karaoke. I love singing, it is my passion.

When I am not singing. I am taking care of my grand daughters or doing crafts.

I have many idols: Patsy Cline, Roy Orbinson, Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, Leslie Gore, Gene Pitney.

eromblad's real name is Eric Romblad. Eric is 47 years old, is located in Florida / USA and has been a SingSnap member since February 16, 2008. So far he has made a total of 79 recordings. Eromblad is a male nurse, happily married, with 3 wonderful kids. He loves music and has a huge catalog of cassettes and cd's.

EROMBLAD, IN HIS OWN WORDS....

My name is Eric Romblad aka eromblad. I'm 47 yrs old, happily married, with 3 wonderful kids. I currently reside in Spring Hill, Florida. We've been here for about 9 months.

I'm an LPN, currently waiting to start work for Hospice. I've been a nurse since graduating from St. Philip's College in San Antonio, Tx in 1987. I've done different kinds of nursing from ICU, PACU, ARDS, Med/Surg, Nursing Home, Coma/TBI, Visiting Nursing, Psych, MD office, and private duty.

I'm a retired Army veteran of 21 yrs of service. I love music. Took a year of college as a Voice Major, was All-State Chorus 4 yrs in High School, and Regionals all 4 yrs. I also sang with a Madrigal group in High School. I used to play the Baritone Horn from 4th Grade,through
12th Grade. I have a big selection of music. I still have a few record albums, but most of it is on cassettes and CDs. I love to sing. I love to go out and sing karaoke in front of people, and I love Singsnap!

I am a Hopeless Romantic, and am sure glad I found my way "home"!
