What is "Your" definition of Spam in detail?

Spam is a housing estate/area where the value
of the house is so expensive that the owners cannot even afford a tin of spam...meat ..There is one in Edinburgh..
In fact there is one everywhere...posh housig schemes down the way i once stayed..with built on bits..
& garages thats roofs blew off in 1989...& we never paid for it..& the spam tins are now pink..& small..they used
to be pink & big..People in those areas got called bams..
Pam the bam..fae the spam...& that is all Deb

My Definition of Spam

1. Members you "don't know" sending PMs to listen to a song and or asking for HOF votes.

2. Members leaving "cut & paste comments with "no typed *personal* text" which let's you know they really listened.

3. Members who leave a "quick" comment on "your song" and ask you to come listen to them and or leave a link to their song(s) on "your" song they commented on.

4. Members who "spam" threads other than the "Promotional" threads for listens.

Things I ***don't*** consider Spam

1. "Occasionally" PMing friend(s) or acquaintance(s) (members you recognize whether via song comments or through the threads) about a song that is someone "other than yourself" that really "impressed" you for whatever reason.

2. I for one, "don't have the time to search each and every thread", so again......"occasionally" PMing members (you know as mentioned above) you think "might" be interested in a "particular" thread with a link to it.

3. PMing members with a "Youtube" link you think they might enjoy that they might otherwise never know of.

In Conclusion

I "honestly" try my best to get along with everyone and respect their wishes.......however SS has grown so much and I have met "many" people and again "honestly" can't keep up with who likes what "or" doesn't like.

I do my best, so if I ever leave you a comment, graphic (which I try to personalize to the person or song.....NOT cut & paste) or send you a PM you don't care for.......please simply delete.

If it comes from someone I don't know
who doesn't know me
and it is not an invite to a birthday page for someone I know
but instead promotes the sender's song(s) or site
or whatever
and asks me to go visit or listen to it...... it's spam.

If it's continual posts of their own song links
on a thread that is not about posting song links
then it's spam.

And anything requesting a Hall of Fame nomination
is spam in my books
as I feel that HoF nominations
should be generated by the listeners who are 'inspired' to nominate the song
not requested to nominate a song.

It's effectively like receiving a pm saying "Tell me I'm brilliant!"

The nicest compliments we receive are those which are given freely...if you have to tell or ask someone to give you a compliment it isn't much of a compliment! If you have to ask for a HoF vote then you clearly don't feel the person you're asking would like it enough to vote for it of their own free will...as such you are thus manipulating the system for your own benefit...& to the detriment of others

I never use One For One or JRAS graphics/links on someone's recording unless they have posted in the thread(s). That right there is the way it is done by gosh. :P~
