trevor is changing the world, one person at a time... :)

What would you do as Music Director for the daily feature page?

Post your ideas here of what you would like to see for one week (one different theme per day) on the featured page. We will then pick one person to be Music Director for a week and use his/her ideas.

Rules for creating a feature page for a day:

- Themes can be anything based on songs or artists.
- When using a theme based on songs, be sure there are enough songs available but the selection must be limited to no more than 125 songs.
- When using a theme based on artists, limit the number of artists to no more than 20.
- Members recordings can also be featured for a day

Good Luck!

4.THURSDAY-SAY 'I DO'-when 'i do' is typed in to the song search, tons of songs show up(I think like 125 approx)

5.FRIDAY-ALKIGEN-ONE NIGHT ONLY-this is where i shamelessly promote myself(LOL) by having people sing songs as done by me or recorded by me under my recordings:-)

6.SATURDAY-'LIVE' UP YOUR SATURDAY-where people sing any song with the title 'live' in it and have it posted on the feature page.

7.SUNDAY-V.I.R.G.O.-songs made famous by the following 'Virgos'-Gloria Estefan,Billy Ray Cyrus,Shania Twain,Micheal Jackson,Fiona Apple,Elvis Costello,Faith Hill,Buddy Holly,Beyonce,Otis Redding.

I think a Hall of fame (Rock n Roll) or (Country Music) (Blues) Hall of Fame, There is also a (Jazz) Musicians Hall of Fame. One idea I've always wanted to throw in was (Plagiarism songs) songs that have been in court ..you can go to :ccnmtl.columbia.edu/projects/law/library/introduction.html or www.law.columbia.edu/library/projects/music or even pick songs that sound like others ..most are familiar with "One Fine Day/My Sweet Lord" plagiarism suit but there are lots of songs that sound similar.

First I'd like to say thank you Trevor for allowing us to have in put & participate in SingSnap decisions promoting even more fun ideas & suggestions.
I would also like to say that I hope you will reconsider allowing one person to run the show for an entire week. There are just way too many members, to give this honor to so few 52 members for one year, verses 365 members. Also allowing people to make selections from ones play list could get pretty difficult. I know many times I've gone in to hear someones songs, and it's been too hard, they chose a genre I'm not too fond of, and I'm fairly versatile. My play list has a little of this, & a little of that, but many don't.

I submit my seven days of the week SingSnap feature page selection. My choices will provide something for everyone, to include all genres. Sorry, I take that back, there will be one feature day that will probably exclude some members, it is to be a Spanish singing feature day. This will allow members to sing a song in Spanish, while allowing many members to hear songs they normally don't or wouldn't. Many of us have been looking forward to featuring Spanish songs. Personally I've sung songs here with some Spanish, French, German, Hebrew, & a bit Italian. It should be fun.

Monday ~ Musicals Madness ~ Silver screen, or Boob tube, sing any Show tunes from the movies or television then just type - Show tunes

Tuesday ~ Do you know the Way to San Jose or any other city? (I live in SJ) Sing any songs with a city in the title, such as I left my heart in SF, NY,NY, Walking to New Orleans, The Night Chicago Died, Philadelphia Freedom, I Love Paris, London Town, there are many etc,....just type in - City to get your song on the feature page

Wednesday ~ Latin Day featuring Spanish singing, I believe this would be a first, I'm really excited about it. Example of some singers; Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony, Thalia, Shakria, Selena, Ricky Martin, Marco Antonio Solis, Ritchie Valens, Los Lobos, Santana, Juan Gabriel, Enrique Iglesias, Luis Miguel, José Feliciano, or any other Spanish singer, there are too many to mention. Type - Spanish to get on the feature page. Songs must be in Spanish. There is also the possibility to singing any song as long as it is translated into Spanish.

Thursday ~ S.H.I.T. Sure Happy It's Thursday sing any song with "Happy" in the title then type Happy to get in the feature

Friday ~ State & Sing your choice, there are many States to choose from. Example; Sweet Home Alabama, Massachusetts, Hotel California, Leave Virginia Alone, Midnight Train To Georgia, etc,.....type State for the feature page

Saturday ~ Duet day, find (a partner) an open duet, or just a regular song & sing along. Only completed duets are allowed, then type Duet to get into the feature page.

Sunday ~ Sing any song with God in it, mention God to get into the feature page.

That wraps up my ideas. Other than the Spanish Day, all members will find a varity of selections for the remainding days, which include all genres, to encourage all taste & preference here at SingSnap. Again thank you so much, for providing this site for us all.......Helen (ma_elena)

One of many fortune-telling songs, popular as nursery rhymes for children. It is supposed to tell a child's character or future based on the day they were born.

So each day would mean something special to each performer, based on the day he/she was born.

Thanks for considering my entry

MONDAY'S child is fair of face. Any song with "attractive, beautiful, bonny, charming, chaste, comely, delicate, exquisite, handsome, knockout, looker, lovely, pretty" in the title (All words Depicting Beauty)

TUESDAY'S child is full of grace. Any song with "adorn, crown, deck, decorate, dignify, distinguish, elevate, embellish, enhance, enrich, favor, garnish, glorify, honor" in the title (all synonyms for the word Grace)

WEDNESDAY'S child is full of woe. Any song with "affliction, agony, distress, grief, heartache, heartbreak, hurting, misery, rue, sorrow, suffering, throe, torment, torture, woe" in the title (all synonyms for the word Woe)

THRUSDAY'S child has far to go. Any song about "Travel, Planes, Trains, Automobiles, Cars, Bikes, Motorcycles, Bicycles, Walking, Running" in the title (all words that representing going somewhere)

FRIDAY'S child is loving and giving. Any song that has the words "love, adore, caring, concerned, devoted, kind, loyal, sentimental, sacrifice, surrender" in the title. (all synonyms for Loving and Giving)

SATURDAY'S child works hard for a living. Any song with the words "Work, Job, Living, Struggle, Sweat, Task, Toil, Effort" in the title. (All synonyms for Work)

But the child who is born on the Sabbath Day [SUNDAY'S child]
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay. Any song that has the words "Jolly, Joy, Joyful, Gay, Happy, Merry, Sunny" in the title. (all synonyms for Blithe)

So..basically, I did a snap song search for the days of the week. I think that the artists of the songs listed should also, be featured on the day that their song is featured. Not particularly any of my favorite artists listed but...hey..they sing about days of the week!! (oh..and snap doesn't have any "Thursday" artists so, I had to Google it)

This is what I came up with:

"Stormy" Monday- "T-Bone Walker" and songs associated with recent storms..key words: "Storm", "Flood", and Hurricane"

*Please Note* on my entry, each day's selection can be shortened to fewer "key" words, in order to keep it within the parameters of the amount of pages/songs allowed. Each listed were just random synonyms of the topic for that particular day of the poem [Monday's child].

Again, thank you for considering my entry for the song week. Have a very lovely day and thank you so much for always bringing us such wonderful entertainment and activities to keep us busy!

Okay, I'm going to give this a shot! It's probably no good but it won't hurt to try huh?

Monday: "Monday's child is fair of face"
Sing a song by an artist you fancy like crazy!
Add "GORGEOUS" in the comment box

Tuesday: "Tuesday's child is full of grace"
Sing a song that makes you feel gracious and elegant!
Add "GRACEFUL" in the comment box

Wednesday: "Wednesday's child is full of woe"
Sing a song that really hits that emotional button, perhaps even enough to make you cry!
Add "SAD" in the comment box

Thursday: "Thursday's child has far to go"
Sing a song that is about going somewhere e.g. "Walking in Memphis"
Add "ON THE MOVE" in the comment box

Friday: "Friday's child is loving and giving"
Sing a song that you would love to sing to someone you love and dedicate it to them
Add "GIFT" in the comment box

Saturday: "Saturday's child works hard for a living"
Sing a song that has anything to do with work
Add "CAREER" in the comment box

Sunday: "The child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay"
Sing a song that has anything to do with being beautiful, being light-hearted or being exceedingly happy
Add "JOYOUS" in the comment box

There are my ideas for the week. I think it gives everybody a wide range of songs to sing as I find it hard with some of the more restricted categories! All the best to everyone x
