when the sun came up we were sleeping in sunk inside our blankets sprawled across the bed and we were dreaming there are moments when i know it and the world revolves around us and we're keeping it keeping it all going this delicate balance vulnerable all knowing (sing like you think no one's listening) you would kill for this just a little bit so, sing me something soft sad and delicate or loud and out of key sing me anything we're glad for what we've got done with what we've lost our whole lives laid out right in front of us
this is my favorite song, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
Chasing Cars"
We'll do it all Everything On our own
We don't need Anything Or anyone
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know How to say How I feel
Those three words Are said too much They're not enough
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told Before we get too old Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time Chasing cars Around our heads
I need your grace To remind me To find my own
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told Before we get too old Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am All that I ever was Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where Confused about how as well Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
(I think I like it so much just because sometimes you just have to appreciate being able to just do nothing but exist and enjoy the one you love..I mean truly enjoy their company with no distractions)
Packing my bags this morning Was the hardest thing to do. But packing my bags was so easy Compared to standing outside your door Right now to say goodbye to you.
Think of me. I know you’ve never seen me cry. Think of me. But it’s so hard to say goodbye. Think of me. What can I say to show you I’ll never give up on you, I will be waiting for you?
I will be there when you call. I will see you through it all; And even in your darkest hour, I pray that the Lord we found Will set you on solid ground.
I know that it feels like leavin’ Is a part of letting go. But I’m prayin’ with hope and believin’ That I’ll see you once again down this road... I hope that it won’t be long!
Think of me. I know God brought you as a friend. Think of me. I know He’ll bring you back again! Think of me. What can I say to show you I’ll never give up on you, I will be waiting for you?
I will be there when you call. I will see you through it all; And even in your darkest hour, I pray that the Lord we found Will set you on solid ground.

Ooh.
those are some really pretty lyrics,, awww i dont know the song, but im gunna go listen now.
Don't know much about your life Don't know much about your world But don't want to be alone tonight on this planet they call earth
You don't know about my past and I don't have a future figured out And maybe this is going too fast And maybe it's not meant to last
But what do you say to taking chances What do you say to jumping off the edge Never knowing if there's solid ground below or a hand to hold Or hell to pay What do you say What do you say
I just want to start again (I just want to start again) And maybe you could show me how to try And maybe you could take me in (Take me in) Somewhere underneath your skin
But what do you say to taking chances What do you say to jumping off the edge Never knowing if there's solid ground below or a hand to hold Or hell to pay What do you say What do you say
And I had my heart beaten down but I always come back for more Yeah There’s nothing like love to pull you up When you’re laying down on the floor there So talk to me Talk to me like lovers do Yeah Walk with me Walk with me like lovers do Like lovers do
What do you say to taking chances What do you say to jumping off the edge Never knowing if there's solid ground below or a hand to hold Or hell to pay What do you say What do you say
Don’t know much about your life and I don’t know much about your world

aw yer that song is beautiful.. i don't much like celine dion,, but that song is special :)
Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence One step from lashing out at you... You want in to get under my skin And call yourself a friend I've got more friends like you What do I do?
(Pre) Is there no standard anymore? What it takes, who I am, where I've been Belong You can't be something you're not Be yourself, by yourself Stay away from me A lesson learned in life Known from the dawn of time
(Chorus) Respect, walk Run your mouth when I'm not around It's easy to achieve You cry to weak friends that sympathize
Can you hear the violins playing your song? Those same friends tell me your every word
Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence One step from lashing out at you... You want in to get under my skin And call yourself a friend I've got more friends like you What do I do?

Avenged? No I haven't I'm gonna go look for it. In the meantime... I really dig this next tune. Not really a fan of everything this band does but I like the lyrics.
Homecoming Queen by Hinder
It's been five years since I've seen her face, She's the holy ghost, left without a trace, And now we're left with the what ifs, It's been five years since she left for L.A. She's an angel with a dirty face, And it seems to me she's a casualty, Of all the pressure that we put on her, And now we've lost her for good.
It's such a shame shame shame that our homecoming queen, Was a lot like you and a lot like me, And she never walked on water, Cuz no one really saw her
She was so adored by everyone, When it came to looks she was next to none, But loved partying and having too much fun, Then she hooked up with the wrong someone, And promised everything another sun, And it seems to me that she's a casualty, Of all the pressure that we put on her, And now we've lost her for good.
It's such a shame shame shame that our homecoming queen, Was a lot like you and a lot like me, And she never walked on water, Cuz no one really saw her
A shame shame shame that our homecoming queen, Had a lot to prove and so many to please, She's just somebodys daughter, Just looking for somebody to love her
Well I never knew you, Wish I could have saved you, From losers that shame you, Before you got strung out, With so much potential, How could you let us down?
Kay.. I love reading lyrics! :) :) :) This is not my favorite song, but I remember first hearing this song: I was absolutely BLOWN away by the lyrics...
Letters From Home - John Michael Montgomery
My Dear Son, it is almost June, I hope this letter catches up to you, and finds you well Its been dry but they’re calling for rain, And everything's the same ol’ same in Johnsonville Your stubborn 'ol Daddy ain’t said too much, But I’m sure you know he sends his love, And she goes on, In a letter from home
I hold it up and show my buddies, Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, and they all laugh, Like there’s something funny bout’ the way I talk, When I say: "Mama sends her best y’all" I fold it up an' put it in my shirt, Pick up my gun an' get back to work An' it keeps me driving me on, Waiting on letters from home
My Dearest Love, its almost dawn I’ve been lying here all night long wondering where you might be I saw your Mama and I showed her the ring Man on the television said something so I couldn’t sleep But I’ll be all right, I’m just missing you An' this is me kissing you XX’s and OO’s, In a letter from home
I hold it up and show my buddies, Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, and they all laugh, 'Cause she calls me "Honey", but they take it hard, 'Cause I don’t read the good parts I fold it up an' put it in my shirt, Pick up my gun an' get back to work An' it keeps me driving me on, Waiting on letters from home
Dear Son, I know I ain’t written, But sittin' here tonight, alone in the kitchen, it occurs to me, I might not have said, so I’ll say it now Son, you make me proud
I hold it up and show my buddies, Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, but no one laughs, 'Cause there ain’t nothing funny when a soldier cries An' I just wipe me eyes I fold it up an' put it in my shirt, Pick up my gun an' get back to work An' it keeps me driving me on, Waiting on letters from home
I may have been so moved: because I first heard my Pop sing it: I'm sure it's on Youtube, but for anyone who wants to hear my Dadd-i-o! (I like his better than the original -hehe) http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/b71e3852
so so many favs especially being a DJ just love music.....but all know this is my funeral song
Ive been around for you Ive been up and down for you But I just cant get any relief Ive swallowed my pride for you Ive lived and lied for you But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin your love away cause you never give it Peeling the years away And we cant relive it I make you laugh And you make me cry I believe its time for me to fly
You said we'd work it out You said that you had no doubt That deep down we were really in love Oh, but I'm tired of holding on To a feeling I know is gone I do believe that I've had enough
I've had enough of the falseness Of a worn out relation Enough of the jealousy And the intoleration I make you laugh And you make me cry I believe its time for me to fly
{refrain} time for me to fly Oh, Ive got to set myself free Time for me to fly And thats just how its got to be I know it hurts to say goodbye But its time for me to fly
Oh, dont you know its... {refrain}
Its time for me to fly {repeat to end}
This has always been both of my girls song. Gathered others in time but this is most special for my girls.....
I believe that children ARE our future Teach them well and let them lead the way Show them all the beauty they possess inside Give them a sense of pride to make it easier Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows If I fail, if I succeed At least I'll live as I believe No matter what they take from me They can't take away my dignity Because the greatest love of all Is happening to me
Everybody's searching for a hero People need someone to look up to I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs A lonely place to be And so I learned to depend on me
I found the greatest love of all Inside of me The greatest love of all Is easy to achieve Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all
I believe that children ARE our future Teach them well and let them lead the way Show them all the beauty they possess inside Give them a sense of pride to make it easier Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows If I fail, if I succeed At least I'll live as I believe No matter what they take from me They can't take away my dignity Because the greatest love of all Is happening to me I found the greatest love of all Inside of me The greatest love of all Is easy to achieve Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all
And if by chance, that special place That you've been dreaming of Leads you to a lonely place Find your strength in love
When yer head gets twisted and yer mind grows numb When you think you're too old, too young, too smart or too dumb When yer laggin' behind an' losin' yer pace In a slow-motion crawl of life's busy race No matter what yer doing if you start givin' up If the wine don't come to the top of yer cup If the wind's got you sideways with with one hand holdin' on And the other starts slipping and the feeling is gone And yer train engine fire needs a new spark to catch it And the wood's easy findin' but yer lazy to fetch it And yer sidewalk starts curlin' and the street gets too long And you start walkin' backwards though you know its wrong And lonesome comes up as down goes the day And tomorrow's mornin' seems so far away And you feel the reins from yer pony are slippin' And yer rope is a-slidin' 'cause yer hands are a-drippin' And yer sun-decked desert and evergreen valleys Turn to broken down slums and trash-can alleys And yer sky cries water and yer drain pipe's a-pourin' And the lightnin's a-flashing and the thunder's a-crashin' And the windows are rattlin' and breakin' and the roof tops a-shakin' And yer whole world's a-slammin' and bangin' And yer minutes of sun turn to hours of storm And to yourself you sometimes say "I never knew it was gonna be this way Why didn't they tell me the day I was born" And you start gettin' chills and yer jumping from sweat And you're lookin' for somethin' you ain't quite found yet And yer knee-deep in the dark water with yer hands in the air And the whole world's a-watchin' with a window peek stare And yer good gal leaves and she's long gone a-flying And yer heart feels sick like fish when they're fryin' And yer jackhammer falls from yer hand to yer feet And you need it badly but it lays on the street And yer bell's bangin' loudly but you can't hear its beat And you think yer ears might a been hurt Or yer eyes've turned filthy from the sight-blindin' dirt And you figured you failed in yesterdays rush When you were faked out an' fooled white facing a four flush And all the time you were holdin' three queens And it's makin you mad, it's makin' you mean Like in the middle of Life magazine Bouncin' around a pinball machine And there's something on yer mind you wanna be saying That somebody someplace oughta be hearin' But it's trapped on yer tongue and sealed in yer head And it bothers you badly when your layin' in bed And no matter how you try you just can't say it And yer scared to yer soul you just might forget it And yer eyes get swimmy from the tears in yer head And yer pillows of feathers turn to blankets of lead And the lion's mouth opens and yer staring at his teeth And his jaws start closin with you underneath And yer flat on your belly with yer hands tied behind And you wish you'd never taken that last detour sign And you say to yourself just what am I doin' On this road I'm walkin', on this trail I'm turnin' On this curve I'm hanging On this pathway I'm strolling, in the space I'm taking In this air I'm inhaling Am I mixed up too much, am I mixed up too hard Why am I walking, where am I running What am I saying, what am I knowing On this guitar I'm playing, on this banjo I'm frailin' On this mandolin I'm strummin', in the song I'm singin' In the tune I'm hummin', in the words I'm writin' In the words that I'm thinkin' In this ocean of hours I'm all the time drinkin' Who am I helping, what am I breaking What am I giving, what am I taking But you try with your whole soul best Never to think these thoughts and never to let Them kind of thoughts gain ground Or make yer heart pound But then again you know why they're around Just waiting for a chance to slip and drop down "Cause sometimes you hear'em when the night times comes creeping And you fear that they might catch you a-sleeping And you jump from yer bed, from yer last chapter of dreamin' And you can't remember for the best of yer thinking If that was you in the dream that was screaming And you know that it's something special you're needin' And you know that there's no drug that'll do for the healin' And no liquor in the land to stop yer brain from bleeding And you need something special Yeah, you need something special all right You need a fast flyin' train on a tornado track To shoot you someplace and shoot you back You need a cyclone wind on a stream engine howler That's been banging and booming and blowing forever That knows yer troubles a hundred times over You need a Greyhound bus that don't bar no race That won't laugh at yer looks Your voice or your face And by any number of bets in the book Will be rollin' long after the bubblegum craze You need something to open up a new door To show you something you seen before But overlooked a hundred times or more You need something to open your eyes You need something to make it known That it's you and no one else that owns That spot that yer standing, that space that you're sitting That the world ain't got you beat That it ain't got you licked It can't get you crazy no matter how many Times you might get kicked You need something special all right You need something special to give you hope But hope's just a word That maybe you said or maybe you heard On some windy corner 'round a wide-angled curve
But that's what you need man, and you need it bad And yer trouble is you know it too good "Cause you look an' you start getting the chills
"Cause you can't find it on a dollar bill And it ain't on Macy's window sill And it ain't on no rich kid's road map And it ain't in no fat kid's fraternity house And it ain't made in no Hollywood wheat germ And it ain't on that dimlit stage With that half-wit comedian on it Ranting and raving and taking yer money And you thinks it's funny No you can't find it in no night club or no yacht club And it ain't in the seats of a supper club And sure as hell you're bound to tell That no matter how hard you rub You just ain't a-gonna find it on yer ticket stub No, and it ain't in the rumors people're tellin' you And it ain't in the pimple-lotion people are sellin' you And it ain't in no cardboard-box house Or down any movie star's blouse And you can't find it on the golf course And Uncle Remus can't tell you and neither can Santa Claus And it ain't in the cream puff hair-do or cotton candy clothes And it ain't in the dime store dummies or bubblegum goons And it ain't in the marshmallow noises of the chocolate cake voices That come knockin' and tappin' in Christmas wrappin' Sayin' ain't I pretty and ain't I cute and look at my skin Look at my skin shine, look at my skin glow Look at my skin laugh, look at my skin cry When you can't even sense if they got any insides These people so pretty in their ribbons and bows No you'll not now or no other day Find it on the doorsteps made out-a paper mache´ And inside it the people made of molasses That every other day buy a new pair of sunglasses And it ain't in the fifty-star generals and flipped-out phonies Who'd turn yuh in for a tenth of a penny Who breathe and burp and bend and crack And before you can count from one to ten Do it all over again but this time behind yer back My friend The ones that wheel and deal and whirl and twirl And play games with each other in their sand-box world And you can't find it either in the no-talent fools That run around gallant And make all rules for the ones that got talent And it ain't in the ones that ain't got any talent but think they do And think they're foolin' you The ones who jump on the wagon Just for a while 'cause they know it's in style To get their kicks, get out of it quick And make all kinds of money and chicks And you yell to yourself and you throw down yer hat Sayin', "Christ do I gotta be like that Ain't there no one here that knows where I'm at Ain't there no one here that knows how I feel Good God Almighty THAT STUFF AIN'T REAL"
No but that ain't yer game, it ain't even yer race You can't hear yer name, you can't see yer face You gotta look some other place And where do you look for this hope that yer seekin' Where do you look for this lamp that's a-burnin' Where do you look for this oil well gushin' Where do you look for this candle that's glowin' Where do you look for this hope that you know is there And out there somewhere And your feet can only walk down two kinds of roads Your eyes can only look through two kinds of windows Your nose can only smell two kinds of hallways You can touch and twist And turn two kinds of doorknobs You can either go to the church of your choice Or you can go to Brooklyn State Hospital You'll find God in the church of your choice You'll find Woody Guthrie in Brooklyn State Hospital
And though it's only my opinion I may be right or wrong You'll find them both In the Grand Canyon At sundown
Don't look so sad I know it's over But life goes on And this old world will keep on turning
Let's just be glad we have some time to spend together There's no need to watch the bridges that we're burning
Lay your head upon my pillow Hold your warm and tender body close to mine In a whisper of the raindrops flowing soft across the window And make believe you love me one more time
For the good times
I'll get along You'll find another And I'll be here if you should find you ever need me
Don't say a word about tomorrow or forever There'll be time enough for sadness when you leave me
Lay your head upon my pillow Hold your warm and tender body close to mine In a whisper of the raindrops flowing soft across the window And make believe you love me one more time

My favorite song that I could listen to over and over is by one of my favorite artist! It is a simple song but just makes me smile!
Todd Rundgren ! Love Todd
Hello It's Me
Hello, it's me I've thought about us for a long, long time Maybe I think too much but something's wrong There's something here that doesn't last too long Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine
Seeing you Or seeing anything as much as I do you I take for granted that you're always there I take for granted that you just don't care Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through
It's important to me That you know you are free 'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me You know that I'd be with you if I could I'll come around to see you once in a while Or if I ever need a reason to smile And spend the night if you think I should
It's important to me That you know you are free 'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me You know that I'd be with you if I could I'll come around to see you once in a while Or if I ever need a reason to smile And spend the night if you think I should
another of my recent faves,, for reasons that are obvious to most lol.
SNOW PATROL LYRICS
"Set The Fire To The Third Bar" (feat. Martha Wainwright)
I find the map and draw a straight line Over rivers, farms, and state lines The distance from 'A' to where you'd be It's only finger-lengths that I see I touch the place where I'd find your face My finger in creases of distant dark places
I hang my coat up in the first bar There is no peace that I've found so far The laughter penetrates my silence As drunken men find flaws in science
Their words mostly noises Ghosts with just voices Your words in my memory Are like music to me
I'm miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground I, I pray that something picks me up And sets me down in your warm arms
After I have travelled so far We'd set the fire to the third bar We'd share each other like an island Until exhausted, close our eyelids And dreaming, pick up from The last place we left off Your soft skin is weeping A joy you can't keep in
I'm miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground And I, I pray that something picks me up and sets me down in your warm arms
I'm miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground and I, I pray that something picks me up and sets me down in your warm arms

John Lennon - (Just Like) Starting Over lyrics
Our life together is so precious together We have grown, we have grown Although our love is still special Let's take a chance and fly away somewhere alone
It's been too long since we took the time No-one's to blame, I know time flies so quickly But when I see you darling It's like we both are falling in love again It'll be just like starting over, starting over
Everyday we used to make it love Why can't we be making love nice and easy It's time to spread our wings and fly Don't let another day go by my love It'll be just like starting over, starting over
Why don't we take off alone Take a trip somewhere far, far away We'll be together all alone again Like we used to in the early days Well, well, well darling
It's been too long since we took the time No-one's to blame, I know time flies so quickly But when I see you darling It's like we both are falling in love again It'll be just like starting over, starting over
Our life together is so precious together We have grown, we have grown Although our love is still special Let's take a chance and fly away somewhere
This is one of my favorite songs. The way its sung and the meaning - as short and sweet as it is. If I were to ever pass on (knock-on-wood) early, this is what i would want to have played for my children. i have sang it, a'capella and recorded it for them on a tape recorder. But it isn't the same as singing it with music....(maybe I should go song request it now)
Jewel - Angel Standing By Lyrics
All through the night I'll be watching over you All through the night I'll be standing over you And through bad dreams I'll be right there, baby, Holding you hand, telling you everything is all right And when you cry I'll be right there Telling you were never anything less than beautiful So don't you worry I'm your Angel standing by
Always been a big Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush fan this song was released in the early 70's and I still think it sounds fresh and relevant to this day...
"Juggernaut"
Evolution, revolution are the parents of one another Moving ever moving crushing everything that gets in its way Smiles telling lies about the future; I don't want to believe them Pity on their faces baby; don't you think they laugh in your face
Wheels of justice; they have fallen off Man's on crutches being kicked like dogs
Politicians makin' money; all the time they murder our freedom Filling up their pockets while the people in the street lay and die Man you're workin' hard as hell; you only end up payin' more taxes Give 'em all your money baby; don't you think they give you a bomb
Lambs were slaughtered for the sacrifice Man's now offered up by his own kind
It's a juggernaut It's a juggernaut It's a juggernaut
Cry for your soul Young and old Help your own They will need it, heed it Don't be caught between the stones
Economic pressure and recession in a nation of madness Living under fear of countries launching up a nuclear attack Men are killing men with paper bullets; you may wonder how that's done Money is the bullet and the dirty greedy heart is the gun
It's a juggernaut It's a juggernaut It's a juggernaut
Rise or fall One and all Sink or swim We can win now; oh how we can do it if we try
Superpowers playing chess along a board with people as pieces Taking human life just like they're only sacrificing a pawn Don't you know the game is rigged; the best that they will do is a stalemate Who will be the judge of what is right when we are lying in graves
We'll inherit from all of our nations Not peace Only Deadly radiation
luv2sing4eva wrote:This is one of my favorite songs.
All through the night I'll be watching over you All through the night I'll be standing over you And through bad dreams I'll be right there, baby, Holding you hand, telling you everything is all right And when you cry I'll be right there Telling you were never anything less than beautiful So don't you worry I'm your Angel standing by
and that has to be the most touching song lyrics ive read.
never heard of it before, but it sure does sound beautiful.
hey...I like that one song by the beatles...let it be I like it quite a lot............I love the lyrics. But I think it is such a widely known song I don't need to post the lyrics ;o)
Wind blowin' on my face Sidewalk flyin' beneath my bike A five year-old's first taste Of what freedom's really like He was runnin' right beside me His hand holdin' on the seat I took a deep breath and hollered As I headed for the street
Chorus You can let go now, Daddy You can let go Oh, I think I'm ready To do this on my own (It's still) (It still feels) a little bit scary But I want you to know I'll be okay now, Daddy You can let go
I was standin' at the altar Between the two loves of my life To one I've been a daughter To one I soon would be a wife When the preacher asked, 'Who gives this woman?' Daddy's eyes filled up with tears He kept holdin' tightly to my arm 'Til I whispered in his ear
(Repeat Chorus)
It was killin' me to see The strongest man I ever knew Wastin' away to nothin' In that hospital room 'You know he's only hangin' on for you' That's what the night nurse said My voice and heart were breakin' As I crawled up in his bed, and said
You can let go now, Daddy You can let go Your little girl is ready To do this on my own It's gonna be a little bit scary But I want you to know I'll be okay now, Daddy You can let go You can let go

Colour My World - Chicago
As time goes on I realize Just what you mean To me And now Now that youre near Promise your love That Ive waited to share And dreams Of our moments together Color my world with hope of loving you
Spanky need help? you can pm me, or come to live chat for assitance. :-)
Another one of my favorites!!
Everything I Own - Bread
You sheltered me from harm. Kept me warm, kept me warm You gave my life to me Set me free, Set me free The finest years I ever knew were all the years I had with you
I would give anything I own, Give up me life, my heart, my home. I would give everything I own, just to have you back again.
You taught me how to love, What its of, what its of. You never said too much, but still you showed the way, and I knew from watching you. Nobody else could ever know the part of me that can't let go.
I would give anything I own, Give up me life, my heart, my home. I would give everything I own Just to have you back again.
Is there someone you know, you're loving them so, but taking them all for granted. You may lose them one day, someone takes them away, and they don't hear the words you long to say
I would give anything I own, Give up me life, my heart, my home. I would give everything I own Just to have you back again
Well I love the song Amazed. The words are beautiful.
Every time our eyes meet This feeling inside me Is almost more than I can take Baby when you touch me I can feel how much you love me And it just blows me away I've never been this close to anyone or anything I can hear your thoughts I can see your dreams
I don't know how you do what you do I'm so in love with you It just keeps getting better I wanna spend the rest of my life With you by my side Forever and ever Every little thing that you do Baby I'm amazed by you
The smell of your skin The taste of your kiss The way you whisper in the dark Your hair all around me Baby you surround me You touch every place in my heart Oh it feels like the first time every time I wanna spend the whole night in your eyes
I don't know how you do what you do I'm so in love with you It just keeps getting better I wanna spend the rest of my life With you by my side Forever and ever Every little thing that you do Baby I'm amazed by you
Every little thing that you do I'm so in love with you It just keeps getting better I wanna spend the rest of my life With you by my side Forever and ever Every little thing that you do Oh, every little thing that you do Baby I'm amazed by you
Most respected artist in my book & probably will be till I die. Madonna is 2nd. Who do I like in this day & age? I see Rhianna being the next Madonna...
Ok give me your hell...
All time most favorite lyrics:
Dearly beloved We are gathered here today 2 get through this thing called life
Electric word life It means forever and that's a mighty long time But I'm here 2 tell u There's something else The afterworld
A world of never ending happiness U can always see the sun, day or night
So when u call up that shrink in Beverly Hills U know the one - Dr Everything'll Be Alright Instead of asking him how much of your time is left Ask him how much of your mind, baby
'Cuz in this life Things are much harder than in the afterworld In this life You're on your own
And if de-elevator tries 2 bring u down Go crazy - punch a higher floor
If u don't like the world you're living in Take a look around u At least u got friends
U see I called my old lady 4 a friendly word She picked up the phone Dropped it on the floor (Sex, sex) is all I heard
Are we gonna let de-elevator Bring us down Oh, no Let's Go!
Let's go crazy Let's get nuts Let's look 4 the purple banana 'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!
We're all excited But we don't know why Maybe it's cuz We're all gonna die
And when we do (When we do) What's it all 4 (What's it all 4) U better live now Before the grim reaper come knocking on your door
Tell me, are we gonna let de-elevator bring us down Oh, no let's go!
Let's go crazy Let's get nuts Look 4 the purple banana 'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!
C'mon baby Let's get nuts Yeah Crazy
Let's go crazy
Are we gonna let de-elevator bring us down Oh, no let's go! Go crazy
I said let's go crazy (Go crazy) Let's go, let's go Go Let's go
Dr. Everything'll be alright Will make everything go wrong Pills and thrills and dafodills will kill Hang tough children
I've often thought about The men where I came from And times ago Their sons, these days, are found In US and Britannia care And as I think about, In my mother's eyes I look and see the story there It's a knowledge of beauty in these days rare Go west, go west young man West of hollow words and all that lies there Go west, I'II sing an air For all the previous Wild black curly hair For what use is anything If I don't have the wisdom and warmth Of my past generations If I need strength To take bad on, I just look back to where I came from. I look back where I came from I've had respect, money and love, I've denied my beautiful heritage Gone away from my roots and come back home again I gave away my individuality And listened to the "now" generation When really I'm not one of those But love has brought me closer to the truth and right now I couldn't be any closer To love your father is a fulfilling thing My national pride is a personal pride
Taken from the album "Don't stand me down", one of dexys finest, see , they did do more than Come on Eileen! :)
RightSaidFred oooh i love the new stereo soooo much!!! thankyou trev!!! ;-)
CELINE DION LYRICS
"Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)"
Mamma You gave life to me Turned a baby into a lady
Mamma All you had to offer Was the promise of a lifetime of love
Now I know There is no other Love like a mother's love for her child
And I know A love so complete Someday must leave Must say goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near Someday you'll say that word and I will cry It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
Mamma You gave love to me Turned a young one into a woman
Mamma All I ever needed Was a guarantee of you loving me
'Cause I know There is no other Love like a mother's love for her child
And it hurts so That something so strong Someday will be gone, must say goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near Someday you'll say that word and I will cry It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
But the love you gave me will always live You'll always be there every time I fall You are to me the greatest love of all You take my weakness and you make me strong And I will always love you 'til forever comes
And when you need me I'll be there for you always I'll be there your whole life through I'll be there this I promise you, Mamma
Mamma, I'll be I'll be your beacon through the darkest nights I'll be the wings that guide your broken flight I'll be your shelter through the raging storm And I will love you 'till forever comes
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near Someday you'll say that word and I will cry It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
Just before our love got lost you said I am as constant as a northern star And I said, constant in the darkness Wheres that at? If you want me Ill be in the bar
On the back of a cartoon coaster In the blue tv screen light I drew a map of canada Oh canada And your face sketched on it twice
Oh you are in my blood like holy wine Oh and you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet Oh I could drink a case of you I could drink a case of you darling And I would still be on my feet Oh Id still be on my feet
Oh I am a lonely painter I live in a box of paints Im frightened by the devil And Im drawn to those ones that aint afraid I remember that time that you told me, you said Love is touching souls Surely you touched mine Cause part of you pours out of me In these lines from time to time
Oh you are in my blood like holy wine And you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet Oh I could drink a case of you I could drink a case of you darling Still Id be on my feet And still be on my feet
I met a woman She had a mouth like yours She knew your life She knew your devils and your deeds And she said Color go to him, stay with him if you can Oh but be prepared to bleed Oh but you are in my blood youre my holy wine Oh and you taste so bitter, bitter and so sweet Oh I could drink a case of you darling Still Id be on my feet Id still be on my feet
Mmmmmmm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I even quote from it in emails and myspace sometimes..
"I could drink a case of you, darlin'.. and still be on my feet....I would still be on my feet...:"
Do you always trust your first initial feeling Special knowledge holds truth bears believing I turned around And the water was closing all around Like a glove Like the love that had finally, finally found me Then I knew In the crystalline knowledge of you Drove me thru the mountains Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain Drove me like a magnet To the sea
How the faces of love have changed turning the pages And I have changed oh, but you...you remain ageless I turned around And the water was closing all around Like a glove Like the love that had finally, finally found me Then I knew In the crystalline knowledge of you Drove me thru the mountains Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain Drove me like a magnet To the sea
Existentialism on Prom Night - Straylight Run
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8E0Afc7Heg
when the sun came up
we were sleeping in
sunk inside our blankets
sprawled across the bed
and we were dreaming
there are moments when i know it
and the world revolves around us
and we're keeping it
keeping it all going
this delicate balance
vulnerable
all knowing
(sing like you think no one's listening)
you would kill for this
just a little bit
so, sing me something soft
sad and delicate
or loud and out of key
sing me anything
we're glad for what we've got
done with what we've lost
our whole lives laid out right in front of us
this is my favorite song, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
Chasing Cars"
We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
(I think I like it so much just because sometimes you just have to appreciate being able to just do nothing but exist and enjoy the one you love..I mean truly enjoy their company with no distractions)
Think of Me
Rachael Lampa and Mark Schultz
Here's a YouTube version of it
Packing my bags this morning
Was the hardest thing to do.
But packing my bags was so easy
Compared to standing outside your door
Right now to say goodbye to you.
Think of me.
I know you’ve never seen me cry.
Think of me.
But it’s so hard to say goodbye.
Think of me.
What can I say to show you
I’ll never give up on you,
I will be waiting for you?
I will be there when you call.
I will see you through it all;
And even in your darkest hour,
I pray that the Lord we found
Will set you on solid ground.
I know that it feels like leavin’
Is a part of letting go.
But I’m prayin’ with hope and believin’
That I’ll see you once again down this road...
I hope that it won’t be long!
Think of me.
I know God brought you as a friend.
Think of me.
I know He’ll bring you back again!
Think of me.
What can I say to show you
I’ll never give up on you,
I will be waiting for you?
I will be there when you call.
I will see you through it all;
And even in your darkest hour,
I pray that the Lord we found
Will set you on solid ground.
Think of me.
I know you’ve never seen me cry.
Think of me.
But it’s so hard to say goodbye!
Think of me!
What can I say to show you
I’ll never give up on you,
I will be waiting for you?
I will be there when you call.
I will see you through it all;
And even in your darkest hour,
I pray that the Lord we found...
I will be there when you call. (Oh, I’ll be there!)
I will see you through it all;
And even in your darkest hour,
I pray that the Lord we found
Will set you on solid ground.
Ooh.
mine is Taking Chances by Celine Dion
Don't know much about your life
Don't know much about your world
But don't want to be alone tonight
on this planet they call earth
You don't know about my past
and I don't have a future figured out
And maybe this is going too fast
And maybe it's not meant to last
But what do you say to taking chances
What do you say to jumping off the edge
Never knowing if there's solid ground below
or a hand to hold
Or hell to pay
What do you say
What do you say
I just want to start again
(I just want to start again)
And maybe you could show me how to try
And maybe you could take me in
(Take me in)
Somewhere underneath your skin
But what do you say to taking chances
What do you say to jumping off the edge
Never knowing if there's solid ground below
or a hand to hold
Or hell to pay
What do you say
What do you say
And I had my heart beaten down
but I always come back for more
Yeah
There’s nothing like love to pull you up
When you’re laying down on the floor there
So talk to me
Talk to me like lovers do
Yeah
Walk with me
Walk with me like lovers do
Like lovers do
What do you say to taking chances
What do you say to jumping off the edge
Never knowing if there's solid ground below
or a hand to hold
Or hell to pay
What do you say
What do you say
Don’t know much about your life
and I don’t know much about your world
Walk
by Pantera
Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence
One step from lashing out at you...
You want in to get under my skin
And call yourself a friend
I've got more friends like you
What do I do?
(Pre) Is there no standard anymore?
What it takes, who I am, where I've been
Belong
You can't be something you're not
Be yourself, by yourself
Stay away from me
A lesson learned in life
Known from the dawn of time
(Chorus)
Respect, walk
Run your mouth when I'm not around
It's easy to achieve
You cry to weak friends that sympathize
Can you hear the violins playing your song?
Those same friends tell me your every word
(Pre)
(Chorus)
Are you talking to me?
No way punk
Nice thread!!! Beautiful lyrics for all too!!
This is one of mine
Todd Rundgren - A Dream Goes On Forever
http://youtube.com/watch?v=YbeesHDvFbk
A million old soldiers will fade away
But a dream goes on forever
I'm left standing here, I've got nothing to say
All is silent within my dream
A thousand true loves will live and die
But a dream lives on forever
The days and the years will go streaking by
But the time has stopped in my dream
We all have our everyday hopes and fears
And you'll find no exception in me
But that doesn't get me through a sea of tears
Over life's biggest tragedy
You're so long ago and so far away
But my dream lives on forever
I guess I believe that I'll see you one day
For without it there is no dream
You're so far away and so long ago
But my dream goes on forever
And how much I loved you you'll never know
'Til you join me within my dream
Homecoming Queen
by Hinder
It's been five years since I've seen her face,
She's the holy ghost, left without a trace,
And now we're left with the what ifs,
It's been five years since she left for L.A.
She's an angel with a dirty face,
And it seems to me she's a casualty,
Of all the pressure that we put on her,
And now we've lost her for good.
It's such a shame shame shame that our homecoming queen,
Was a lot like you and a lot like me,
And she never walked on water,
Cuz no one really saw her
She was so adored by everyone,
When it came to looks she was next to none,
But loved partying and having too much fun,
Then she hooked up with the wrong someone,
And promised everything another sun,
And it seems to me that she's a casualty,
Of all the pressure that we put on her,
And now we've lost her for good.
It's such a shame shame shame that our homecoming queen,
Was a lot like you and a lot like me,
And she never walked on water,
Cuz no one really saw her
A shame shame shame that our homecoming queen,
Had a lot to prove and so many to please,
She's just somebodys daughter,
Just looking for somebody to love her
Well I never knew you,
Wish I could have saved you,
From losers that shame you,
Before you got strung out,
With so much potential,
How could you let us down?
Novella says kazz forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :opKay.. I love reading lyrics! :) :) :)
This is not my favorite song, but I remember first hearing this song: I was absolutely BLOWN away by the lyrics...
Letters From Home - John Michael Montgomery
My Dear Son, it is almost June,
I hope this letter catches up to you, and finds you well
Its been dry but they’re calling for rain,
And everything's the same ol’ same in Johnsonville
Your stubborn 'ol Daddy ain’t said too much,
But I’m sure you know he sends his love,
And she goes on,
In a letter from home
I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, and they all laugh,
Like there’s something funny bout’ the way I talk,
When I say: "Mama sends her best y’all"
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home
My Dearest Love, its almost dawn
I’ve been lying here all night long wondering where you might be
I saw your Mama and I showed her the ring
Man on the television said something so I couldn’t sleep
But I’ll be all right, I’m just missing you
An' this is me kissing you
XX’s and OO’s,
In a letter from home
I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, and they all laugh,
'Cause she calls me "Honey", but they take it hard,
'Cause I don’t read the good parts
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home
Dear Son, I know I ain’t written,
But sittin' here tonight, alone in the kitchen, it occurs to me,
I might not have said, so I’ll say it now
Son, you make me proud
I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, but no one laughs,
'Cause there ain’t nothing funny when a soldier cries
An' I just wipe me eyes
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home
I may have been so moved: because I first heard my Pop sing it: I'm sure it's on Youtube, but for anyone who wants to hear my Dadd-i-o! (I like his better than the original -hehe)
so so many favs especially being a DJ just love music.....but all know this is my funeral song
Ive been around for you
Ive been up and down for you
But I just cant get any relief
Ive swallowed my pride for you
Ive lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin your love away
cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we cant relive it
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe its time for me to fly
You said we'd work it out
You said that you had no doubt
That deep down we were really in love
Oh, but I'm tired of holding on
To a feeling I know is gone
I do believe that I've had enough
I've had enough of the falseness
Of a worn out relation
Enough of the jealousy
And the intoleration
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe its time for me to fly
{refrain} time for me to fly
Oh, Ive got to set myself free
Time for me to fly
And thats just how its got to be
I know it hurts to say goodbye
But its time for me to fly
Oh, dont you know its...
{refrain}
Its time for me to fly
{repeat to end}
This has always been both of my girls song. Gathered others in time but this is most special for my girls.....
I believe that children ARE our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe that children ARE our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
When yer head gets twisted and yer mind grows numb
When you think you're too old, too young, too smart or too dumb
When yer laggin' behind an' losin' yer pace
In a slow-motion crawl of life's busy race
No matter what yer doing if you start givin' up
If the wine don't come to the top of yer cup
If the wind's got you sideways with with one hand holdin' on
And the other starts slipping and the feeling is gone
And yer train engine fire needs a new spark to catch it
And the wood's easy findin' but yer lazy to fetch it
And yer sidewalk starts curlin' and the street gets too long
And you start walkin' backwards though you know its wrong
And lonesome comes up as down goes the day
And tomorrow's mornin' seems so far away
And you feel the reins from yer pony are slippin'
And yer rope is a-slidin' 'cause yer hands are a-drippin'
And yer sun-decked desert and evergreen valleys
Turn to broken down slums and trash-can alleys
And yer sky cries water and yer drain pipe's a-pourin'
And the lightnin's a-flashing and the thunder's a-crashin'
And the windows are rattlin' and breakin' and the roof tops a-shakin'
And yer whole world's a-slammin' and bangin'
And yer minutes of sun turn to hours of storm
And to yourself you sometimes say
"I never knew it was gonna be this way
Why didn't they tell me the day I was born"
And you start gettin' chills and yer jumping from sweat
And you're lookin' for somethin' you ain't quite found yet
And yer knee-deep in the dark water with yer hands in the air
And the whole world's a-watchin' with a window peek stare
And yer good gal leaves and she's long gone a-flying
And yer heart feels sick like fish when they're fryin'
And yer jackhammer falls from yer hand to yer feet
And you need it badly but it lays on the street
And yer bell's bangin' loudly but you can't hear its beat
And you think yer ears might a been hurt
Or yer eyes've turned filthy from the sight-blindin' dirt
And you figured you failed in yesterdays rush
When you were faked out an' fooled white facing a four flush
And all the time you were holdin' three queens
And it's makin you mad, it's makin' you mean
Like in the middle of Life magazine
Bouncin' around a pinball machine
And there's something on yer mind you wanna be saying
That somebody someplace oughta be hearin'
But it's trapped on yer tongue and sealed in yer head
And it bothers you badly when your layin' in bed
And no matter how you try you just can't say it
And yer scared to yer soul you just might forget it
And yer eyes get swimmy from the tears in yer head
And yer pillows of feathers turn to blankets of lead
And the lion's mouth opens and yer staring at his teeth
And his jaws start closin with you underneath
And yer flat on your belly with yer hands tied behind
And you wish you'd never taken that last detour sign
And you say to yourself just what am I doin'
On this road I'm walkin', on this trail I'm turnin'
On this curve I'm hanging
On this pathway I'm strolling, in the space I'm taking
In this air I'm inhaling
Am I mixed up too much, am I mixed up too hard
Why am I walking, where am I running
What am I saying, what am I knowing
On this guitar I'm playing, on this banjo I'm frailin'
On this mandolin I'm strummin', in the song I'm singin'
In the tune I'm hummin', in the words I'm writin'
In the words that I'm thinkin'
In this ocean of hours I'm all the time drinkin'
Who am I helping, what am I breaking
What am I giving, what am I taking
But you try with your whole soul best
Never to think these thoughts and never to let
Them kind of thoughts gain ground
Or make yer heart pound
But then again you know why they're around
Just waiting for a chance to slip and drop down
"Cause sometimes you hear'em when the night times comes creeping
And you fear that they might catch you a-sleeping
And you jump from yer bed, from yer last chapter of dreamin'
And you can't remember for the best of yer thinking
If that was you in the dream that was screaming
And you know that it's something special you're needin'
And you know that there's no drug that'll do for the healin'
And no liquor in the land to stop yer brain from bleeding
And you need something special
Yeah, you need something special all right
You need a fast flyin' train on a tornado track
To shoot you someplace and shoot you back
You need a cyclone wind on a stream engine howler
That's been banging and booming and blowing forever
That knows yer troubles a hundred times over
You need a Greyhound bus that don't bar no race
That won't laugh at yer looks
Your voice or your face
And by any number of bets in the book
Will be rollin' long after the bubblegum craze
You need something to open up a new door
To show you something you seen before
But overlooked a hundred times or more
You need something to open your eyes
You need something to make it known
That it's you and no one else that owns
That spot that yer standing, that space that you're sitting
That the world ain't got you beat
That it ain't got you licked
It can't get you crazy no matter how many
Times you might get kicked
You need something special all right
You need something special to give you hope
But hope's just a word
That maybe you said or maybe you heard
On some windy corner 'round a wide-angled curve
But that's what you need man, and you need it bad
And yer trouble is you know it too good
"Cause you look an' you start getting the chills
"Cause you can't find it on a dollar bill
And it ain't on Macy's window sill
And it ain't on no rich kid's road map
And it ain't in no fat kid's fraternity house
And it ain't made in no Hollywood wheat germ
And it ain't on that dimlit stage
With that half-wit comedian on it
Ranting and raving and taking yer money
And you thinks it's funny
No you can't find it in no night club or no yacht club
And it ain't in the seats of a supper club
And sure as hell you're bound to tell
That no matter how hard you rub
You just ain't a-gonna find it on yer ticket stub
No, and it ain't in the rumors people're tellin' you
And it ain't in the pimple-lotion people are sellin' you
And it ain't in no cardboard-box house
Or down any movie star's blouse
And you can't find it on the golf course
And Uncle Remus can't tell you and neither can Santa Claus
And it ain't in the cream puff hair-do or cotton candy clothes
And it ain't in the dime store dummies or bubblegum goons
And it ain't in the marshmallow noises of the chocolate cake voices
That come knockin' and tappin' in Christmas wrappin'
Sayin' ain't I pretty and ain't I cute and look at my skin
Look at my skin shine, look at my skin glow
Look at my skin laugh, look at my skin cry
When you can't even sense if they got any insides
These people so pretty in their ribbons and bows
No you'll not now or no other day
Find it on the doorsteps made out-a paper mache´
And inside it the people made of molasses
That every other day buy a new pair of sunglasses
And it ain't in the fifty-star generals and flipped-out phonies
Who'd turn yuh in for a tenth of a penny
Who breathe and burp and bend and crack
And before you can count from one to ten
Do it all over again but this time behind yer back
My friend
The ones that wheel and deal and whirl and twirl
And play games with each other in their sand-box world
And you can't find it either in the no-talent fools
That run around gallant
And make all rules for the ones that got talent
And it ain't in the ones that ain't got any talent but think they do
And think they're foolin' you
The ones who jump on the wagon
Just for a while 'cause they know it's in style
To get their kicks, get out of it quick
And make all kinds of money and chicks
And you yell to yourself and you throw down yer hat
Sayin', "Christ do I gotta be like that
Ain't there no one here that knows where I'm at
Ain't there no one here that knows how I feel
Good God Almighty
THAT STUFF AIN'T REAL"
No but that ain't yer game, it ain't even yer race
You can't hear yer name, you can't see yer face
You gotta look some other place
And where do you look for this hope that yer seekin'
Where do you look for this lamp that's a-burnin'
Where do you look for this oil well gushin'
Where do you look for this candle that's glowin'
Where do you look for this hope that you know is there
And out there somewhere
And your feet can only walk down two kinds of roads
Your eyes can only look through two kinds of windows
Your nose can only smell two kinds of hallways
You can touch and twist
And turn two kinds of doorknobs
You can either go to the church of your choice
Or you can go to Brooklyn State Hospital
You'll find God in the church of your choice
You'll find Woody Guthrie in Brooklyn State Hospital
And though it's only my opinion
I may be right or wrong
You'll find them both
In the Grand Canyon
At sundown
hey my friend!!!! mine is: For The Good Times
i love the song!!!! thanks so much.
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/aea4fe8e
Don't look so sad
I know it's over
But life goes on
And this old world will keep on turning
Let's just be glad we have some time to spend together
There's no need to watch the bridges that we're burning
Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine
In a whisper of the raindrops flowing soft across the window
And make believe you love me one more time
For the good times
I'll get along
You'll find another
And I'll be here if you should find you ever need me
Don't say a word about tomorrow or forever
There'll be time enough for sadness when you leave me
Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine
In a whisper of the raindrops flowing soft across the window
And make believe you love me one more time
For the good times
For the good times
Hi Lee and all!
My favorite song that I could listen to over and over is by one of my favorite artist! It is a simple song but just makes me smile!
Todd Rundgren ! Love Todd
Hello It's Me
Hello, it's me
I've thought about us for a long, long time
Maybe I think too much but something's wrong
There's something here that doesn't last too long
Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine
Seeing you
Or seeing anything as much as I do you
I take for granted that you're always there
I take for granted that you just don't care
Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should
Think of me...
Think of me...
Think of me
another of my recent faves,, for reasons that are obvious to most lol.
SNOW PATROL LYRICS
"Set The Fire To The Third Bar"
(feat. Martha Wainwright)
I find the map and draw a straight line
Over rivers, farms, and state lines
The distance from 'A' to where you'd be
It's only finger-lengths that I see
I touch the place where I'd find your face
My finger in creases of distant dark places
I hang my coat up in the first bar
There is no peace that I've found so far
The laughter penetrates my silence
As drunken men find flaws in science
Their words mostly noises
Ghosts with just voices
Your words in my memory
Are like music to me
I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
I, I pray that something picks me up
And sets me down in your warm arms
After I have travelled so far
We'd set the fire to the third bar
We'd share each other like an island
Until exhausted, close our eyelids
And dreaming, pick up from
The last place we left off
Your soft skin is weeping
A joy you can't keep in
I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
And I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms
I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
and I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms
RightSaidFred oooh i love the new stereo soooo much!!! thankyou trev!!! ;-)This is my fav song and lyrics...
John Lennon - (Just Like) Starting Over lyrics
Our life together is so precious together
We have grown, we have grown
Although our love is still special
Let's take a chance and fly away somewhere alone
It's been too long since we took the time
No-one's to blame, I know time flies so quickly
But when I see you darling
It's like we both are falling in love again
It'll be just like starting over, starting over
Everyday we used to make it love
Why can't we be making love nice and easy
It's time to spread our wings and fly
Don't let another day go by my love
It'll be just like starting over, starting over
Why don't we take off alone
Take a trip somewhere far, far away
We'll be together all alone again
Like we used to in the early days
Well, well, well darling
It's been too long since we took the time
No-one's to blame, I know time flies so quickly
But when I see you darling
It's like we both are falling in love again
It'll be just like starting over, starting over
Our life together is so precious together
We have grown, we have grown
Although our love is still special
Let's take a chance and fly away somewhere
Starting over
John Lennon - Mother lyrics
Mother, you had me, but I never had you
I wanted you, you didn't want me
So I, I just got to tell you
Goodbye, goodbye
Father, you left me, but I never left you
I needed you, you didn't need me
So I, I just got to tell you
Goodbye, goodbye.
Children, don't do what I have done
I couldn't walk and I tried to run
So I, I just got to tell you
Goodbye, goodbe.
This is one of my favorite songs. The way its sung and the meaning - as short and sweet as it is.
If I were to ever pass on (knock-on-wood) early, this is what i would want to have played for my children. i have sang it, a'capella and recorded it for them on a tape recorder. But it isn't the same as singing it with music....(maybe I should go song request it now)
Jewel - Angel Standing By Lyrics
All through the night I'll be watching over you
All through the night I'll be standing over you
And through bad dreams I'll be right there, baby,
Holding you hand, telling you everything is all right
And when you cry I'll be right there
Telling you were never anything less than beautiful
So don't you worry
I'm your Angel standing by
Always been a big Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush fan
this song was released in the early 70's and I still think it sounds fresh and relevant to this day...
"Juggernaut"
Evolution, revolution are the parents of one another
Moving ever moving crushing everything that gets in its way
Smiles telling lies about the future; I don't want to believe them
Pity on their faces baby; don't you think they laugh in your face
Wheels of justice; they have fallen off
Man's on crutches being kicked like dogs
Politicians makin' money; all the time they murder our freedom
Filling up their pockets while the people in the street lay and die
Man you're workin' hard as hell; you only end up payin' more taxes
Give 'em all your money baby; don't you think they give you a bomb
Lambs were slaughtered for the sacrifice
Man's now offered up by his own kind
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
Cry for your soul
Young and old
Help your own
They will need it, heed it
Don't be caught between the stones
Economic pressure and recession in a nation of madness
Living under fear of countries launching up a nuclear attack
Men are killing men with paper bullets;
you may wonder how that's done
Money is the bullet and the dirty greedy heart is the gun
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
Rise or fall
One and all
Sink or swim
We can win now; oh how we can do it if we try
Superpowers playing chess along a board with people as pieces
Taking human life just like they're only sacrificing a pawn
Don't you know the game is rigged;
the best that they will do is a stalemate
Who will be the judge of what is right when we are lying in graves
We'll inherit from all of our nations
Not peace
Only
Deadly radiation
It's a juggernaut
This is my all time new fav....
You Can Let Go - Crystal Shawanda
Wind blowin' on my face
Sidewalk flyin' beneath my bike
A five year-old's first taste
Of what freedom's really like
He was runnin' right beside me
His hand holdin' on the seat
I took a deep breath and hollered
As I headed for the street
Chorus
You can let go now, Daddy
You can let go
Oh, I think I'm ready
To do this on my own
(It's still) (It still feels) a little bit scary
But I want you to know
I'll be okay now, Daddy
You can let go
I was standin' at the altar
Between the two loves of my life
To one I've been a daughter
To one I soon would be a wife
When the preacher asked,
'Who gives this woman?'
Daddy's eyes filled up with tears
He kept holdin' tightly to my arm
'Til I whispered in his ear
(Repeat Chorus)
It was killin' me to see
The strongest man I ever knew
Wastin' away to nothin'
In that hospital room
'You know he's only hangin' on for you'
That's what the night nurse said
My voice and heart were breakin'
As I crawled up in his bed, and said
You can let go now, Daddy
You can let go
Your little girl is ready
To do this on my own
It's gonna be a little bit scary
But I want you to know
I'll be okay now, Daddy
You can let go
You can let go
Everything I Own - Bread
You sheltered me from harm.
Kept me warm, kept me warm
You gave my life to me
Set me free, Set me free
The finest years I ever knew
were all the years I had with you
I would give anything I own,
Give up me life, my heart, my home.
I would give everything I own,
just to have you back again.
You taught me how to love,
What its of, what its of.
You never said too much,
but still you showed the way,
and I knew from watching you.
Nobody else could ever know
the part of me that can't let go.
I would give anything I own,
Give up me life, my heart, my home.
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again.
Is there someone you know,
you're loving them so,
but taking them all for granted.
You may lose them one day,
someone takes them away,
and they don't hear the words you long to say
I would give anything I own,
Give up me life, my heart, my home.
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again
Well I love the song Amazed. The words are beautiful.
Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you
The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh it feels like the first time every time
I wanna spend the whole night in your eyes
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you
Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Oh, every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you
Most respected artist in my book & probably will be till I die. Madonna is 2nd. Who do I like in this day & age? I see Rhianna being the next Madonna...
Ok give me your hell...
All time most favorite lyrics:
Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
2 get through this thing called life
Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here 2 tell u
There's something else
The afterworld
A world of never ending happiness
U can always see the sun, day or night
So when u call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
U know the one - Dr Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, baby
'Cuz in this life
Things are much harder than in the afterworld
In this life
You're on your own
And if de-elevator tries 2 bring u down
Go crazy - punch a higher floor
If u don't like the world you're living in
Take a look around u
At least u got friends
U see I called my old lady
4 a friendly word
She picked up the phone
Dropped it on the floor
(Sex, sex) is all I heard
Are we gonna let de-elevator
Bring us down
Oh, no Let's Go!
Let's go crazy
Let's get nuts
Let's look 4 the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!
We're all excited
But we don't know why
Maybe it's cuz
We're all gonna die
And when we do (When we do)
What's it all 4 (What's it all 4)
U better live now
Before the grim reaper come knocking on your door
Tell me, are we gonna let de-elevator bring us down
Oh, no let's go!
Let's go crazy
Let's get nuts
Look 4 the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!
C'mon baby
Let's get nuts
Yeah
Crazy
Let's go crazy
Are we gonna let de-elevator bring us down
Oh, no let's go!
Go crazy
I said let's go crazy (Go crazy)
Let's go, let's go
Go
Let's go
Dr. Everything'll be alright
Will make everything go wrong
Pills and thrills and dafodills will kill
Hang tough children
He's coming
He's coming
Coming
Take me away!
RightSaidFred oooh i love the new stereo soooo much!!! thankyou trev!!! ;-)This songs makes me cry coz of some lines in it i can relate to and they are how i feel....
Such as:-
No mother's arms to hold me or soothe me when I cry.
Sometimes it gets so lonely I wish that I could die.
I'm nobody's child
I'm nobody's child
I'm like a flower just growing wild.
No mommy's kisses and no daddy's smile
nobody wants me
I'm nobody's child.
Soulrebel1 a day without sunshine is like, night.dexys Midnight Runners - Knowledge Of Beauty
I've often thought about
The men where I came from
And times ago
Their sons, these days, are found
In US and Britannia care
And as I think about,
In my mother's eyes I look and see the story there
It's a knowledge of beauty in these days rare
Go west, go west young man
West of hollow words and all that lies there
Go west, I'II sing an air
For all the previous
Wild black curly hair
For what use is anything
If I don't have the wisdom and warmth
Of my past generations
If I need strength
To take bad on,
I just look back to
where I came from.
I look back where I came from
I've had respect, money and love,
I've denied my beautiful heritage
Gone away from my roots and come back home again
I gave away my individuality
And listened to the "now" generation
When really I'm not one of those
But love has brought me closer to the truth and right now
I couldn't be any closer
To love your father is a fulfilling thing
My national pride is a personal pride
Taken from the album "Don't stand me down", one of dexys finest, see , they did do more than Come on Eileen! :)
"Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)"
Mamma
You gave life to me
Turned a baby into a lady
Mamma
All you had to offer
Was the promise of a lifetime of love
Now I know
There is no other
Love like a mother's love for her child
And I know
A love so complete
Someday must leave
Must say goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
Mamma
You gave love to me
Turned a young one into a woman
Mamma
All I ever needed
Was a guarantee of you loving me
'Cause I know
There is no other
Love like a mother's love for her child
And it hurts so
That something so strong
Someday will be gone, must say goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
But the love you gave me will always live
You'll always be there every time I fall
You are to me the greatest love of all
You take my weakness and you make me strong
And I will always love you 'til forever comes
And when you need me
I'll be there for you always
I'll be there your whole life through
I'll be there this I promise you, Mamma
Mamma, I'll be
I'll be your beacon through the darkest nights
I'll be the wings that guide your broken flight
I'll be your shelter through the raging storm
And I will love you 'till forever comes
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
'Till we meet again...
Until then...
Goodbye
oooh I LOOOVE this!
Here's ONE of my favorites...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A case of you
Just before our love got lost you said
I am as constant as a northern star
And I said, constant in the darkness
Wheres that at?
If you want me Ill be in the bar
On the back of a cartoon coaster
In the blue tv screen light
I drew a map of canada
Oh canada
And your face sketched on it twice
Oh you are in my blood like holy wine
Oh and you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you
I could drink a case of you darling
And I would still be on my feet
Oh Id still be on my feet
Oh I am a lonely painter
I live in a box of paints
Im frightened by the devil
And Im drawn to those ones that aint afraid
I remember that time that you told me, you said
Love is touching souls
Surely you touched mine
Cause part of you pours out of me
In these lines from time to time
Oh you are in my blood like holy wine
And you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you
I could drink a case of you darling
Still Id be on my feet
And still be on my feet
I met a woman
She had a mouth like yours
She knew your life
She knew your devils and your deeds
And she said
Color go to him, stay with him if you can
Oh but be prepared to bleed
Oh but you are in my blood youre my holy wine
Oh and you taste so bitter, bitter and so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you darling
Still Id be on my feet
Id still be on my feet
Mmmmmmm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I even quote from it in emails and myspace sometimes..
"I could drink a case of you, darlin'.. and still be on my feet....I would still be on my feet...:"
Artist: Stevie Nicks
Song: Crystal
Do you always trust your first initial feeling
Special knowledge holds truth bears believing
I turned around
And the water was closing all around
Like a glove
Like the love that had finally, finally found me
Then I knew
In the crystalline knowledge of you
Drove me thru the mountains
Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet
To the sea
How the faces of love have changed turning
the pages
And I have changed oh, but you...you remain
ageless
I turned around
And the water was closing all around
Like a glove
Like the love that had finally, finally found me
Then I knew
In the crystalline knowledge of you
Drove me thru the mountains
Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet
To the sea
