I have visited a few other karaoke sites and this is the only one that even has a community section where people can freely post things. I just discovered that myspace now has a beta karaoke. I don't like it that I can tell. The arrangements weren't good, nor was the recording quality. They give you effects but they're horrible and if you don't use any, songs sound flat. They also charge a fee to use it and it's more than this site. I hate to see a huge entertainment conglomerate taking over yet another fun community thing.... I can only guess that they have been one of the bigger thorns in SingSnap's side. They do have some of the lost songs but not all of them.... they may have owned the rights to that music before..... but we know they have very deep pockets, too, as well as powers to persuade.

I tend to agree that if Singsnap could be a little more open about issues and there really was solid evidence that songs could come back, the community would fund it. One thing I now think and I know many will disagree but mysapce, for example, gives a short free trial, after that, you have to pay. I think something similar should be done here because being Blue isn't so bad. Maybe they pay less than Gold.... There's a LOT that looks schlocky on myspace's site and this one (even though many songs are now gone) is far better for many reasons. Personally, I also like that it isn't owned by a huge corporation, although I also guess that if this site ever did get running par excellence and making tons of money, they would get an offer from one of the larger corporations and sell out.... just like myspace did. Can't blame them really but it is so sad that this is the world today..... I don't think the biggies provide enough or pay enough to their employees but they're controlling everything and they have little competition to keep them striving to be better.... it is turning into 1984 a little later than George Orwell predicted but it is happening.... well.... have fun!
