For those of you who know Shawn, he had surgery today to help repair his arm that was severly broken in a car accident a few months ago.
Shawn's surgery ended this afternoon at 2:30. Everything went smoothly, but he still has not come back to consciousness. The doctors are coming in every 15 minutes to try and wake him. He opened his eyes briefly for about 45 seconds over an hour ago. I hope he wakes up soon!
Please pray for him!!
Before he went into the hospital, he requested his friends to sing "Awake" by Josh Groban. If anyone would like to show their support that way, please record that song and send me the link.
He is awake! He woke up about 40 minutes ago. He thought he was waking up right after surgery. It frightened him knowing he had been sleeping for almost 35 hours. He is feeling nauseated with a bad headache but the doc said that could be anesthesia sickness or sleeping that long. He is fine except for the after effects. They want to continue monitoring him today to make sure he doesn't fall back to a deep sleep again. He was asked by the doc how his shoulder feels and in Shawn style let him know "ta heck with the shoulder it wasnt his bleeping shoulder that was the problem he was ralphing and has a terrible headache." He became slightly agitated with the medical staff asking him questions to make sure he was in his right mind. His answers were very sarcastic and funny. He made us all laugh with his response to who the President is and his rant on the economy with fuel costs. They were going to give him a shot for the headache and nausea but that did not go over well with him. He told them if they poked him with anything he would have to physically injure them. His throat is very sore and he is very hungry the boys left to get him McDonalds at his request. The doc said the food might help his nausea. We had to remove the flowers from his room he said the jungle was pretty but the smell had to go. Margo took them all back to the house after she scolded him for oversleeping they are so mother and son those two. He informed her that if school counted him absent they would just have to kiss his behind. Until or unless he contacts all of you himself I will keep you up to speed. All your prayers worked. I will never forget how all of you have been there for us. Aaron
Thank all of you for your prayers and good wishes!
