Wow is that how you do that.. never thought to try muting the sound from my card before.. Thanks Miles..
But seriously Trever, We all would like our recordings to sound like the church bells on the cathedrals in New York City so Can I get A BIG DING DONG IN THE HOUSE.. NOT hahahahahahahahahaha
Is that sound clip something that can be easily replaced?
How about an online contest encouraging users to create a new sound clip. Tell them what size the wav file needs to be and have listeners vote for the best one. Terrific bragging rights!
Aside from the annoying sound, it sort of interferes in trying to find the pitch to a song, I assure you I need all the help I can get, and that darn sound makes me sing off key every dang song I swear !!

Well,if you know where you want your music volume at before you record, just turn your volume all the way down for the first seconds of recording, then slide it back up before the music starts. ; )

if you're using the stereo track (no longer recording through stereo mix) then the chime isn't recorded, unless your volume is up high enough in the headphones that the mic picks it up a bit

OOh that must be it. On my new laptop, the only way I get any music is if I use the stereo. I guess I never really noticed that suddenly, that stupid chime was not on my recordings. Cool!!

We've a had a thread to get rid of the chime on the front page for about a year now.
It's still there.
Someone besides Connie must really like chimes.
