Just a question here...Have you really discovered via some sort of proof that people were actually cheating the system in the manor you described? or are you assuming that is the case?

I'm sure that it was Not intended as a Dig at blue members, There has been complaint and gripping about the HOF since its conception.... remember when they changed the name even.

and all that they ever have done is try to make it better or what "We" have wanted (we as in general).....
The Staff has PROVES themselves over and over again that they do listen and do care about the General Public (including the Free memberships) since the very beginning!

Many do not participate in the HOF nor do they want to... but just as many are very diligent in the fact that is what and where they want to be!!!

I truly do not care for or will i look at the HOF very often! I choose to look at the NEW recordings rather than the Feature page even.... I must be in the minority way way down.....

I found 34 topic's alone discussing the HALL OF FAME....... kinda makes ya realize that STAFF is doing the best with what they can or have the ability to do!!!

so what your saying is if a little group of folks spamm the daylights out of the threads about there percieved wrongs on the site we can get things changed ? its the same few folks who start the same hall of fame thread , im not going to hold my breath thinking this new move will satisfy the ones against the hall of fames or as they called it hall of shame , its only beat to deathin some folks minds if folks dont aggree with the new move . do people think that now that blue has been removed from the process of voting that the people who want there names to appear will now ? LOL im waiting and watching, i cant wait to see the new hall of fame list . know this im out of the loop i wont vote nor do i want to be voted in that hall of fame ever as far as im concerned .i have already canceled all my hall votes is there a way i can block votes off my songs ?? i now sure dont want to share the hall of fame with the whiners no way no how .

You know that isn't a bad idea..put an option on our songs if we would like them to be up for consideration to the Hall of Fame.

I would imagine that the original intention of The Hall of Fame was to create an area on the site where outstanding renditions can be heard and appreciated. The problem is that it hasnt gone entirely to plan and the hall is often used to promote an idea, some kind of symbolism, a memorial or to provide a challenge to weird people who try to get their names up there by any means foul or fair.

Now, while there is nothing wrong with drawing attention to something that is of interest to the whole community it doesnt help to make the Hall of Fame a source for fine singing with all those conflicting things going on.

Better perhaps to have a Hall of Fame and a Hall of Fantastic Singing since they are quite evidently different.

I think the hall of fame is a good thing , But unlike other life form hall of fames Its way to easy to get there!I'm sure It could be looked at as a selling point for the site For exposure of those seeking a career If it were more difficult to get there Maybee It would be more interesting to go visit. I get A little dissapointed when i listen to some of the recordings..But by the same token I can see why many are there! maybee this will help and when you click on a song you will really enjoy listening .I will also say even
the most talented singers here seldom hit the jackpot with 8 or 10 out of 100 song's ..IMO!

or the little elderly lady who just had come home from a cancer treatment who got a smile from someone putting her in the hall of fame and let her know someone cared and loved her enough to go to that trouble . this site is for everyday folks who love to sing no matter if there an embaressement to folks who think that only talented people should be in the hall of fame . take them away and see how long this site lasts . when this site starts to cater to just the talented singers then this site will lose more then it gains

What happens to the nominations if a Gold member goes back to Blue?? Are all of thier nominations then deleted? Just curious.

Quite frankly, I couldn't care less if the HOF exists or not. I have no problem with people nominating songs for whatever reason they feel deserves it. What might sound good to one may not sound good to the other. We all have different tastes. Also, if a song moves you emotionally, whether it makes you cry or laugh, why shouldn't you be able to nominate it? I do have a problem with people SPAMMING for votes as I have received a few requests from strangers myself. My simple resolution is to delete them and ignore the request. I also don't think it's right to create multiple accounts so you can vote for yourself either!!

If it disappears, I won't miss it at all!

PS...I think I've cast maybe 6 nominations total since it was implemented! And I've never been in it either!

If you have nominated recordings as a Gold member and then turn Blue, those nominations won't be counted. The nominations will remain in your account though so as soon as you turn Gold again they will once again be counted.

Still think we should go with Peanut's idea and ax the HOF and dedicate that space to our Heaven bound Snappers...there have been quite a few. What a wonderful way to memorialize them! I know the families and friends of those who have passed on would LOVE a special site that anyone could visit and hear their loved ones voices again! Could have a family member pick the song of their choice to showcase in the "Heaven's Choir" section of SS....what do you all think?

well ive read through the thread and have to say...its intreged me that so few blue members have added a post....i for one come on here to sing have a laugh at with some of the wonderful friends i have made and thats about it.... i couldnt careless if i got into the HOF and think i have nominated maybe 3 times.....i have never spammed anyone in fact never messaged anyone except to say thanks for a comment unless they are my friend...as for going gold right now i dont feel the need to go gold also circustances make it hard...but i definately wouldnt go gold just so i could nominate HOF i come on here to sing sing sing thats what a karaoke site is for lets face it.... all the add ons are great but i think some are forgetting this is a karaoke site not a life or death situation and some should chill a bit

All of this aside, why can't voting be based on isp number like other sites do? I could be wrong, but I thought at one point the rating system was like that, that only one account per household was able to rate a song, or maybe that was ksuperstar, or singshot. still, if they could do it, why can't singsnap? There are other solutions, just doesn't seem like anyone has any intereste in preserving any benifit the 'blue' accounts may give.

This kind of proves my point on the HOF. Another thread had to be created to avoid the oringinal post from yesterday. Possibly because I am not on somebody's friend list. I believe that we all started out as blue members on this singsnap program and it does not matter if you cried, lied, or damned near died... or whether you stroked, choked , or damned near croaked...
you sit there talking about the "Pros" ..... and the Gold members as if you support a corrupt system. I don't need friends like you....Like Tracey Lwarence said "You Find Out Who Your Friends Are"!! If I had to spam my way into the Hall of Shame that way, I don't need it. You know who I am speaking to when I say this. Rest Well!

I joined this site coz I love music and singing. If I was amazing at it, I'd be on Pop Idol, or X-Factor....... I sing for fun, and I've met some lovely people on here. HOF means nothing to me... Seeing my name in Gold letters means nothing to me....... The friendship, and the love I've found here , mean the world to me.... I'll continue to sing here as long as I can, whether anybody listens or not. I'll always remain Blue. If one day I'm forced to go Gold or leave,, then I'll leave. I'll never pay for the privilege of singing. I'll just pick up my Guitar and sing for free, or go to a Karaoke bar and sing for free... Music is fun and it stops being fun when money is involved. Whoops I've said too much..... lol.....I don't normally speak on threads but I aint complaining..I'm getting it for free..... for now.... :))
