I HAVE FOOLED WITH THIS COMPUTER FOR HOURS TRYING TO GET IT TO RECORD RIGHT! I'VE READ POSTS FROM DIFFERENT PEOPLE ABOUT HOW TO ADJUST THE SETTINGS BUT NOTHING IS WORKING. I EITHER BARELY HEAR THE MUSIC AND MY VOICE IS LOUD AND THERE IS A HISSING SOUND....OR I HEAR THE MUSIC REALLY GOOD AND I CAN'T HEAR MY VOICE!!! WHAT AM I D0ING WRONG? SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
first of all to be able to help you, we need to know what sound card you have, what windows version you are running and if you have a desktop or a laptop.
to find out what kind of sound card you have you can either go to START, then CONTROL PANEL and then find the one that says Sounds and Audio Devices. OPen that up and it should tell you right next to the speaker icon what type of sound card you have. OR if you have the speaker icon on your task bar, open it up and at your left hand corner bottom it should also tell you the name of the card. Jess
Alot of people have this sound card and they are all having problems with it as well. I have an SB sound card and I have no idea how your card works. No one has got the right answer to how to get this card to give out a mix of voice & music. Wish I could be of more help. :(
I made a video here on a really old laptop that uses onboard sound (Via chip) I have explained how you set mix and set the balance between voice and music in XP. It should be similar to Realteck, so have a look and download the video if you want.
It's lots like a soundblaster really, except music is Wav and on soundblaster it's prolly MP3 and Stereo mix is What U hear on a creative card. I may stick that video on youtube, but it wont be as clear as went it makes this into it's format you loose some detail. It's only 1.49 MB anyway :)
