Florida SS Get-Together June 21

I am planning a SS get-together in Tampa, FL on June 21. This will include an evening at a local karaoke club to be named later. Details will be posted here soon, but I wanted to get the date out there and gauge the level of interest.

At this point the only specific plans are for the Saturday evening, but I am open to other suggestions. My hope is that this would be a fairly informal event -- just to meet up, have some food and drinks, some singing, and a lotta laughs.

If you would like to attend, please reply here or send me a private message. If you would be coming from out of town and would like hotel/travel info -- let me know. I will know more about that once I have the karaoke site selected. I'm hoping to get that determined in the next week or two.

Please pass the word to any SS'ers you know in Florida or nearby areas! Thanks!

OK - right now plans are to have the event at Bobalouie's Grille & Sports bar in north Tampa, 6/21. It's a nice place with a karaoke stage and an extensive songlist. They serve sandwiches, wings, and other typical sports bar fare. They also have several pool tables, darts, TVs, etc.

Karaoke begins at 9 pm but I thought we could get there early, say by 8 pm, where we can settle in, meet and greet, get some food and then sing for a few hours.

Bobalouie's is located at 1913 E Bearss Avenue, less than a mile west of Bruce B. Downs Blvd. You can get there from I-75 at the Bruce B. Downs exit, or from I-275 at the Bearss exit.

I have to see about a sitter, but this sound like a LOT of fun. I have not sung in front an audience in a LONG LONG time, so even if I did not sing, it would be really cool to listen to everyone else. Will let you know more once I determine whether or not I can get a sitter. :)

Hey, you guys, wish I lived closer, but from Mississippi it's a long drive and with gas prices like they are....grrrr..

We had a mini meet here in Ridgeland, just outside Jackson, Ms. in May, and had 8 SingSnappers in attendance. We broadcast from our little bar, The Pub, directly into my karaoke room on Pal=Talk, so there were more SS'er there to watch us dance and sing. Then during the break at the Pub, we reversed the audio and listened to the singers in the Pal-Talk room...over the big speakers at the bar. The ppl in the room could see the patrons clapping and cheering for their songs, and I typed in what I could about the comments from the bar.

It was a great experience, and I would recommend that you try that too. I will be glad to tell anyone how we handled it if interested. Please PM me...as I'm not sure when I'll get back here......Ellen

OK - only six days away! Hope we have a decent turnout -- i know of a few people who will definitely be there but also some maybes, so we'll see. Either way - small group or not we'll have fun! :)

Well we had a great time! Thanks to Alissiebug, Erinandhergirls, amusings, and all the non-SS friends who tagged along. That was fun! We need to do it again!

We even did our share of SS recruiting - hopefully we'll hear Leon here soon! Dude can sing! (and knows how to keep an eye on his beer!)

Thanks, Chris, for making the arrangements. Will you let us know when the USF school newspaper article comes out? What an experience!!!

We had such a GREAT Time and met MANY characters. We sure missed you if you didn't make it. Maybe the next get-together.

I too had a great time!! What a nice surprise to see you there Amanda (Amusings) and hubby!!
Also it was nice to meet Fleacdp and his precious wife, and her funny friend too! THanks for taking bug and I to the beach in "with the rag top down so our hair can blow". What a beauitiful night and day that was!!!
Thanks to bug for um, sitting by the fry burglar. I wont do that to you again bug!! Sorry! ;) I had a blast at your house too!! Love ya girl!!
So next year sound like a plan guys!!? :)
