**The Snap Factor 3 - SIGN UP POST **

Hello and welcome to a new series of THE SNAP FACTOR!

This contest is about being a versatile, entertaining performer. This isn't JUST about being able to sing, you've got to be able to put some charm into your performances and stand out, which is what the Snap Factor really is. Your prize is the glory of winning and anything you gain from performing here!

Last series we found a new winner for our title, janeh23! A fab singer, who definitely had the Snap Factor! This series we're looking for even more talent, and perhaps someone who could take the crown from her :)

To sign up, really all you have to do is say "Sign me up!" or something like that. As long as it's obvious, whatever you say should be fine, lol. Also if you want to be put on the subscription list (see below) request it in your sign up post!

Sometimes our forum threads are full of banter, feel free to join in, we're all friendly and want to get to know you all a bit. Even if you get eliminated, we hope that's not goodbye forever :)

My advice for when you start singing is practice and choose wisely for your voice.
Please really work at not having too much sound distortion, and make sure your voice is clear and audible, this includes not overdoing echo/hall effect. As judges we're not fond of inaudible recordings, and we don't really want to see people leave for that. Most of all, have fun and show us and your fellow contestants that you mean what you're singing! (or are at least pretending you do!)

However there is a huge change to last series! In each round you will be placed in a group by way of my sorting hat. You will be voting on your group (ranking style, so best gets most points, worst gets least) and the bottom two/three will enter the DANGER ZONE. There will be more on this in Round 1 thread ie how to vote, good reasons to vote someone high, etc. The judges will also vote like this, but they have extra points (because you can't vote on yourself, the judges CAN vote on everyone in a group)

In the danger zone you will have one more opportunity to sing any song you feel will save you. One last sing for survival! The judges alone decide who should stay and leave from here! It's really important to stay out of the danger zone, so do your best in the themed rounds!

Each round will last 3 days, and the voting for 24 hours after that (for contestants and judges). You may vote earlier if your group is completed. The Danger Zone will require 48 hours for submission and the new round should be up shortly after that, once the judges make their decisions.

Subscription List - If you want a critique on your performance for each round, then please request to be put on the subscription list in your signup post. You may join or leave the subscription list at any time.
The critique aims to evaluate positives and negatives of your performance perhaps highlighting any possible improvement points. The critiques are always fair and we as judges always try to be unbiased. However they are polite and hopefully will give you some ideas on how to do better next time. Remember with the added addition of the voters in your group, the judges opinion isn't always the be all and end all!

The Rules:
1. Please keep to all deadlines. No entry = automatic elimination. No voting will NOT be an automatic DQ, but you will automatically be put in danger zone. Failure to vote 3 times WILL result in DQ though.
2. No pre records (unless part of alternative solution)
3. Extensions/alternative solution will be granted for good reasons only, but don't be afraid to ask.
4. If you disagree with mine or a judges decision then please take it into PM and not shout off on the boards. Any unjust arguing may result in a disqualification.
5. Only songs which are in the SingSnap library are allowed.
6. Key changer will be allowed if you are a gold member.
7. Harmonies, echo, reverb etc ARE allowed.
8. Please don't post anything obscene/disturbing, as this is a child
friendly site

Yep there's a reason for no auditions! I want everyone to have a fresh chance at the first challenge, you'll see why when we get there :) Just feel sometimes, with the auditions, perhaps people made a bad song choice and they need a second chance.
Also why there's the danger zone now - those who want to stay will try their best with the second chance :)
