1)Begin the process of minimizing the degree to which our government has entangled us with foreign governments and matters not directly associated with our own security.
2)Begin the process of drastically cutting the amount of tax payer dollars that are sent to foreign governments and redirecting those dollars into our own infrastructure, defense, educational programs, and energy technologies.
3)Stop policing the world with our troops.
4)Drastically increase our own military defense capabilities and make it known to our adversaries that we will no longer deal lightly with their agression.
5)Build a 15 foot high, secure double wall all along the US-Mexican border. Create a mined buffer zone in front of the wall for about 100 yards. Post warning signs all along the wall and in the mined buffer zone that alert the reader of the fact that the area is heavily mined. Build Sniper Towers along the wall at five mile intervals and put sharp shooters in each with instructions to shoot anyone attempting to scale the wall or that enter the mined buffer zone. Notify the Mexican government of what we have done and how motivated we are to enforce our border security.
6)Begin the process of deporting any and all illegal immigrants currently in this country. Send the Mexican government a bill listing the cost of deportation and requesting they compensate the US Government for the task.
7)Strike down the anchor baby laws.
7)Enact legislation making it a felony to employ anyone not legally in the united states. Attach stiff fines and manditory jail sentences to those responsible for employing them. Also attach fines and imprisonment to anyone issuing driver's liscenses and insurances to illegals, or renting or selling property to them.
8)Immediatly begin drilling in areas of known domestic oil deposites. Give insentives to build new refineries. Begin building more Nuclear Power plants.
9)Heavily invest in developing new technologies and manufacturing processes which will free us from the need to use so much oil.
10)Adopt a flat tax system for private citizens. Do away with the "death tax".
11)Allow for privatization of social security.
12)Drastically increase the school voucher program and incentivize home schooling. Overhaul the public educational system and break teachers unions.
13)Mandate that prisons construct prison work programs which allow certain prisoners with non-violent offenses to work outside the prisons in produce fields to harvest crops.
14)Overturn Roe vs Wade. Allow abortion to still be legal in cases only involving incest, rape, or the life of the mother. (As medically verified by two physicians)
I suppose a person could go on and on...but that is what comes to mind off the top of my head.

This country needs an overhaul on the 2-party system get rid of "politics" i.e. Democrats and the big elite government
-Get control of our borders..implement an immigration work policy -more choices and reform for our flawed education system -fire all the spendaholics in Congress (sorry donny...hey its all a pipe dream anyway!) -support innovation and entreprenureal ideas in the marketplace -spend on working ideas for alternative fuels and we dont have to destroy the environment to do it -create a healthcare program for everyone.. that doesnt get destroyed by litigation, beaurcracy
The only way things are going to change in my view, is for Americans to act in mass. Then the powers that be cannot resist and change has to come.
I just am not sure we are ready to do that. We are too concerned with out day to day survival and the maintanence of our current lifestyles. We just don't seem to pay attention. And as I have eluded to in past threads, I think sufficient generations of American's have been dumbed down by our public schools so that they inherently do not care or are unaware of what is happening.

I suppose a person could go on and on...but that is what comes to mind off the top of my head.
The only thing I could add to this Rick is put some trained dogs between the double layer fence. Rickorama in 08!!!! Go a head make my day what about GUN control? I know some will ask. What will you do in Irac? How will you handle big companies that hire illegal workers?
I would cut us off from Saudi and use our own oil supply(we apparently have plenty in the gulf, plus alaska, and our 2 mountain chains also have plenty). I would then gradually make all of the oil companies wither relocate over seas or make sure they start using alternative methods. Now as for everything else we will start making our own products again so that immigration will become a problem of the past. As for drugs that's the only thing we'll use the armed forces for besided home protection. We'll take down all of the drug cartels and leave all natural resource countries alone. America is well equiped to help itself without getting involved with anyone else, besides trading. The national debt will dissapear, other countries will like us again, employment will skyrocket, the environment will benifit, other countries will invest in our new ways of transportation, and we will suceed intead of fall behind countries like China and Japan. As for gun control if you want a gun and have never had a felony, comlete and handgun problem or just buy a rifle. With our forces staying around here more often you won't need anything automatic. Space exploration needs to be a mainstay again. If we can figure out how to harness the suns energy from beyond the eaths magnetic field we'll be able to power the US on solar power alone.
eileen is missing my boy scout at camp..love that kid..;)
and in order to figure out how to harness that solar power, Mr. President to-be, we need to support competition and innovation in science and technology by awarding inventors and scientists. Be sure and tell NASA theres some new ballplayers in the game.
I'd add -Adopt an "outsourcing tax" that makes it unattractive to any company that outsources their customer service departments to companies in foreign lands. I shouldn't have to call my phone service carrier, only to be answered by somebody in India, who doesn't understand that southern NJ and Philadelphia are a river apart, and I'm not roaming.

What I was suggesting is the next president needs to support more innovation in research to the private sector so we dont get behind China and the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, scientists are not supported by Congress and their efforts go unnoticed.
If I were the head of NASA, I would be really worried about all the wasteful spending that is going on. But I guess I'm not supposed to worry about that because it's not my money anyway.

Well Mars would be great.. but I am thinking more practically with energy and environment.
I just think we need an actual President and not a CEO after all there is a fine line between Capitolism and Communism when the big wigs start controlling the money. I'm not knocking down Bush or any President after all it is a combined effort with the Pres, the house, and the Senate.

Yeah he could have vetoed that.
the war?
the money for the war yes. We do need moeny for the military, as a former Airman I know how it was during the Clinton admin(housing sucked). But use it for the defence not the offense and it won't cost so much. Don't invade just protect unless another Hitler immerges(some compare Bush to Hitler).
eileen is missing my boy scout at camp..love that kid..;)
How about a flat rate tax break for corporations so they WANT and can do their business in our country? Make it appealing for them to stay. They go overseas for the affordablilty. The business's go on their own because of the high cost of doing business in the States.

Good idea, why is it less expensive for foreign countries to park there companies in other countries. Japan does a similar thing to us. Use the tax rate and save the economy so we can stop worrying about the Hispanics coming in and taking the unwanted jobs.
