Posted by CerebraljamGOLD on June 3, 2008 at 6:00 PM

This challenge is open to all. It runs until Tuesday June 10th at 6PM EDT. Its purpose is to give people a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved. Everyone who participates is a winner.

PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES AND THE THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING

1. Post ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday. You may post a FOURTH song on or after Saturday.

Your song can be a new song or one that was already recorded.

**2. For EACH song you post, listen to at least SIX other people’s songs and leave feedback. That means, if you post 2 songs you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 songs, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose.

Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what it’s about.

3. We prefer to listen to the whole song. Try not to listen to the same people every day. Give new people a chance as well.

4. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread.

5. You don't need to post a song to listen but you need to listen if you post a song. It's best to post earlier in the challenge. But you can post up until the end. Just be aware that the closing hours of the challenge are better suited to listening than trying to squeeze in a last minute post.

6. Try to avoid making multiple posts in a row by going back and editing your posts if you left something out. You have 30 minutes after you post to add to or correct your post by hitting the EDIT button.

Please visit our HOME PAGE for a great deal of useful information by clicking the link below. You will find answers to your many questions, including tips about how to post links and how to edit your posts, our FAQ, our chat room entrance, live recordings from our chat room and our birthday calendar.

Sunday afternoon starting at 1PM EDT (10AM PDT/5PM GMT)
EDT=Eastern Daylight Time PDT=Pacific Daylight Time GMT=Greenwich Mean Time

The theme of this challenge is Men Who Melt! A few challenges back we had Women Who Rock, well ladies it’s our turn to enjoy hearing all those songs that make you go Oooo. Men, do your stuff! It can be sexy, smooth, classy, romantic, anything you think will turn a lady’s head heheh. Ladies you get to sing the songs you love to hear men singing too! Too bad we lost Ella Fitzgerald’s ‘I Just Wanna…’, and ohhhh Wicked Game!!!! No, I don’t want hundreds of Herb Alpert! Although that song is rather ummmm. Unless you get stuck of course. :D Have fun everyone! I want to see just how innovative you can be …

Well, most of you know I love to sing songs from the Great American Song Book. This is one of the later additions to that compendium, orginally added in 1952. This rendition can be found on Michael Bublé's first CD. Here's...

Well since Janet said I couldn't do my "staple" song......

I guess I'll have to settle for my "fall back" selection...

I just ran out and did this one... so it's so fresh it's still steaming...

I can't help falling in love with all of you...

No video on this one... I didn't want to risk all of the ladies hearts bursting right out of their chests....( he said, with tongue firmly planted in cheek) LOL

Wow. What a productive day I've had. Got up early, took care of some banking stuff, went to the dentist, had a great phone conversation with a good friend of mine, got some supplies at Staples, pulled a muscle (ouch), got to the chiropractor to fix that pulled muscle (ooooh), got sneakers I desperately needed, some clothes, some stuff at the hardware store I've been meaning to get, mailed my taxes and got home in time to post in the new challenge. Now I may even go down to the pool. OK. Not everything today was good. That pulled muscle sucked. And I got home to see the stock market tanked. But, if I could have days like this every day, it would be nice (though I certainly couldn't live with the stock market going down every day). Still. It's nice to feel productive.

I think this song may melt some women. Others will just laugh. OK. It's not completely serious. Well, it's not serious at all. But for now, here's

Oh dear me. I do like men as friends
and please don't take any offence here
but men do not make me melt....it's just a fact of life.
So you will have to think of someone else
besides me when you are singing your songs men.

I'll do my best
but I'm not guaranteeing any melting over here LOLOL. So I will enter a song or two
but I will leave the ooohing and aahing to
all the heterosexual women here.

Cool theme. Most of my existing stuff that's relevant was either posted in a previous challenge or nailed by the licensing purge. I'll have to think of something as the week progresses, but I'll post one thing for now:

I wouldn't really have expected it of this particular tune, but my latest Frank Sinatra offering does seem to be having the proper effect on some listeners:

I keep thinking I am catching up and then I see another song and I say to myself yes! One more, then one more! And now, I think I might just have to give in... if I didn't have to be out the house again in 5 hours time I'd stay forever!

Very delicious, my meltometer has broken over and over again, and yes, more steam and bubbles coming out of this challenge than my boiler presented the floor of the outhouse and the *cough* RGee, radiators fizzled earlier on.

Thank you everybody for giving me such a wonderful evening. I will disappear soon and sleep heavenly... you peeps are wonderful!

I'll say goodnight now and just try and catch the last two posts LOL ;-)

BTW I was tempted to go curl up on Dani's bed when I saw it! :D
