Round Eight for the Competition the 'CRADLE TO THE GRAVE' – You’re Getting Divorced (major setback)

This competition is all about story telling and entertaining us with more than a few musical notes and wonders, we want to be taken away to as though immersed into a book or watching film as your character fictional or otherwise ;) comes to life through your words and of course songs.

PLEASE READ THE RULES OF THE COMPETITION BELOW AND REFER TO THESE THROUGHOUT WE WILL POST THEM EVERY ROUND.

Theme – Cradle to the Grave
As denoted by the title, we intend to run the competition as a pan out of someone’s life, from their baby days right through their lives, the rounds will reflect another stage of this persons life, you are the story teller, we want you to immerse yourself into a character that can be fictitious or representative of yourself, you will name them, give them an identity and purpose and follow through their lives with the highs and lows singing a song each round that best represents that stage. We will guide you with a situation and from there the story is yours, be as descriptive as you can, the more you tell us the more we can buy into that person and live their lives through your story and song, make us want more like getting hooked on our favourite soap opera and dying to know what happens.

Round Eight – Major Setback/Your Getting Divorced

At this stage of the comp, we are very much tied into the lives of these people and we have mostly been happy and going along in bliss, we can now choose to carry on the fairytale and bring more stories of happiness like your childs progress or your retirement etc… but perhaps throw a twist in the tale and bring about a divorce or some tragedy….. ive gone with a divorce to keep it simple but we can go any way you feel fit, we can even hold back and decide to do that at a later stage.

(Divorce Option)
After many years of wedded bliss and raising your child, things are starting to disintegrate and the sad story of a marriage break up is upon us, your devastated at this stage and it can be from any view point, be it you are leaving them for whatever reason or they are leaving you, either way the marriage has come to an end.

You need to tell us the story of what’s happening, we’ve gone from a very special time in your life with the child to what now looks inevitable as a divorce, we need you to fill the gaps, then sing a song that represents this time, it might not be sad, it might be progression, that’s up to you. Maybe you’ve got a new love or something has happened to force the situation, remember its your story but we need a song to go with it.

All entries must be in by 7pm Snap time on Tuesday 29th July (12 midnight GMT)

NO PRE-RECORDS ALLOWED

Competition rules:
The competition has been devised by Tegga and Faith we will also judge the rounds and Kat will be a third judge and will have involvement throughout.
1) This is our first competition but we have plenty of experience in being in contests and know what to expect so we hope to have everything in place each round. If there are any problems or questions please PM us, we may put the details on the thread for others to read to answer all points and to be completely transparent, however, we will no tolerate any bad mouthing of judges or fellow competitors either through PM or on the competition.
2) This competition is just for fun only we cannot offer any prizes but we will as the judges nominate the best entry each round and the subsequent winner to the Hall of fame.
3) There will be no exceptions for any late entries or incorrect entries, if there is a problem people need to PM us straight away and we can sort something out if deemed necessary. We will be offering after the audition round a wild card which can be used once only throughout if contestants have a genuine reason why they cannot post a new song that round and we can agree on the reasons.
4) We will run with all entrants until the final round where there will be a public vote to decide on the overall winner. (people can only vote if they have commented on a song previously on another round prior to the final) We aim to have around 10 rounds in total and entries will be spaced over several days to allow everyone to submit their entries.
5) We may have mini challenges within each round that could result in a bonus or even immunity to the next round, these are designed to be fun and will be a chance for ones who have already sung to continue to play a part in the competition while they wait for all the entries to be submitted.
6) Duplicate songs from the same artist will be allowed but bear in mind you will be judged on your song and compared with others, we recommend picking your songs carefully and trying to avoid any clashes but will accept your song entry regardless.
7) Due to recent licencing restrictions on the site we have to be careful when a song is posted that its not going to get eaten up and removed, therefore we will give dispensation should this occur, your songs will be tagged by Two judges, if your song has not been tagged we will allow you to change your entry but this is only for 'lic' songs that may have been removed during the round.

We recommend you try to listen to your fellow competitors out of courtesy this is not compulsory and we understand that this may prove difficult at the early stages, we will likely have a voting system for the final so in this case you will be asked to listen and vote on your fellow singers to provide a fair way of deciding the winner.
