Well, 28 entries aren't bad.
I'm going out of town on Friday (July 3rd) morning for a family reunion, so hoping to have 50 entries in and judged by then. Shouldn't be a problem.
The other judge is out of town right now- he informed me that he should be back tonight to do a few listens.

Hi, Randy.
I'm seeing some familiar faces stop by that have also been to my critique thread. That's totally fine, just as long as you don't enter a song that was previously critiqued.

Okay, I'm caught up on listens. We now need only 18 more entries. The sooner you guys get your entries in, the sooner I can close the auditions- and then we'll see who survived!

Remember, I'm going to be out of town from Friday until Sunday. We may be able to start Round 1 before I leave... depending on how quickly the last entries pour in. If not, then Round 1 will most likely be posted on Sunday.

Speaking of the competition... I just listened up to here... I've been in a lot of contests but I don't think I've ever heard as many really good singers in 'one' contest as I'm hearing in this one...

Just making it through the audition would be cause for celebration. This may be one of the best gatherings of singers on SingSnap...

Hi Everyone....

I recorded something that I thought some of you might find interesting. I was an artist for Mercury and Warner Bros Records in the 60s...

I ran with some pretty 'famous' people back then. (Clapton, Mama's & Papas, Grassroots, David Crosby, Beau Brummel's, Little Richard, Eric Burden, Lenny Bruce, etc.) I'm really just reminiscing, but if you liked any of these groups, you might find what I have to say entertaining... NO singing, just a few stories from my past!

Bruce (the other judge) and I have come to the consensus that there have been 2 entries so far that have used effects on their songs. We decided to let you all off with a warning... this time. As they are pre-records, we have given the guilty two the benefit of the doubt that they forgot there were effects on the their songs.
Do not let this continue into Round 1. If it does, your future entry will be given a zero score, which is the same as being disqualified.
So, as much as I enjoy being a tyrant, I didn't really want to post this note- but I had to get everyone's attention now. (And I didn't want to spoil Bruce's reputation of being the "good cop", lol.)
