I wanted to post this for people who are looking for sponsers. I've talked to several people on here that are not gold, but would love to be. Maybe it's out of their budget for some reason or another. Maybe if there are people looking to sponser someone- they can look at this thread. If you know anyone who's wanting to sponser someone please pass the word along and for anyone who wants to be sponsered. Feel free to post.

I'm a stay at home mom. This website is purely for fun for me. I get out of the house about twice a month with out children to karaoke with my best friend. This website gives me practice for the real deal. It would be great to have a gold membership to change tones and I know a few locked songs right now that I'm dying to try :)

Skypres, I'm with you... I'm a mom of four, I work full-time 5-6 days a week and when the kids are tucked in bed is when I get my opportunity to sing. There are quite a few songs that are locked that I would love to dabble in....as well as songs that are currently "free" that I would like to be able to change the pitch.... I've actually seen some of the artists on here that have a sponsor button by their name.... I would like to know how I can get that.

You do have a sponser button next to your name on your recording hun. I just checked. AND I feel ya- this website is real release for me too.

I'm asking anyone who posts on here to please be nice. I've seen some heated discussions today over the button. If you listened Trevor's update it seems this has been an option for a while- they added the button just to promote the sponsorship so that others might have a chance for gold. It is not begging maybe a little more like asking at the grocery store if you want your total rounded up to help others. So - if ya post here. Please realize - the people posting are not begging. Just simply saying "hey we wouldn't be mad if you decided to do a random act of kindness we would take no offense to it.

well I dont wanna sound like a begger but, I would love to get sponsored... I no longer work due to an accident ayear and a half ago so my income is what my wife brings in so I am not gonna put more preasure on her just so I can sing, though I love to sing... so if anyone wants to check me out to see if I am worthy or not but, dont concider me if you know someone worse off...
Thanks for reading and thinking about this..

Wow! This is a great idea! I have been to threads, defending the effort that Trevor is making with the button and reading that if you can't afford the gold fee, then how can you afford internet? For some of us, myself included, we have a limited, yet well budgeted, income that allows us to partake of the internet. That extra money is simply not in the budget! I would gladly take the gift of someone sponsoring me!

I did notice, however, that no gold members have posted in here as of yet. Beware of selfishness when visiting and responding and please be kind!

I'm not a Gold. I'm a Greenie. I want to weigh in with a few thoughts.

I know of several Gold's that are Gold because they are sponsored. Why did they get sponsored and others haven't been? At least with the ones I know of, it is because those folks doing the sponsoring knew the ones they sponsored in some way.

It varies all over the place for how or why they knew them. It could be from their participation in challenges/contests. It could be from their presence/activity on the message boards. It could be from the friendships forged from listening/commenting. Any of a number of ways of interacting.

Presently, I'm not in a position to be able to sponsor anyone. Should that hopefully change come July, then I will come back to this page (if I can find it) and look to see if there are peeps that are in need of sponsoring AND are adding to my enjoyment of the site. Perhaps that sounds selfish but if I am gonna sponsor someone, yes, I do want something out of the deal. Be that a new friend or added enjoyment of the site or just knowing I took care of one of my buddies.

Good luck to all of you in finding sponsors. Making others aware of your needs is a start.

Well, really you DO get something out of it. Please don't take that as a negative statement. You do it because you get the satisfaction of making another member happy and because you get the pleasure of listening to them. I feel that should be the reason ANY sponsor should sponsor. (That sounded weird, didn't it? LOL)

No Stacie, it doesn't sound weird at all to me. You said it much nicer and more like what I meant. What I will get out of sponsoring people is knowing in a small way I made their world a little nicer.

The reason I can't sponsor anyone presently is I am unemployed. Thankfully I had a LOT of savings to sustain me during this very long job search effort. Hopefully, come July 1st, a part time contract I have now will become a full time position. When that happens, yes, I will gladly share with others.

In fact, thanks to your positive attitude and efforts, if you ain't gold by then, you will be soon as I can click the lil buttons. :-)

that's the feeling i get.
that's why i do it. i like to make people happy....i have yet to go back and listen to those members. why? because I don't know them from Adam. I didn't listen to them to begin with, and I can't keep up with friends on here thus far (slaps self) -But - it feels good.

That selfish part - I agree with......

I thought Green's are grandfathered into the benefits of a gold membership because of the administrative work they do. I know some greens who use the pitch change feature, and have recorded Gold only songs.
I could be wrong. just curious....

They may or may not also be golds, just when you add the green in, green is a darker color so it overtakes the gold, I guess? Heh just a dumb pointless post here.

It was specifically stated as being a "Gold". Yes. I do get gold benefits and I'm very grateful for them. I didn't do the things I do for Snap to get any benefit. I did it because I believe in the site and wanted to help make it better.

At present if I wasn't a "Greenie", I have some friends that know details of my personal situation and have stated they would make sure I was "Gold". When I am able, I shall help some other folks be "Gold".

No worries JooDee. It would never be you I sponsored. You made it clear you would like the option to decline should someone care to do that. Since I cannot provide you that option, I will not impose upon your view of choice by sponsoring you.

Thanks for being nice on this thread- cause people are really getting gly. I really do believe there are people on here that adding gold is out of their budget my selp included. I LOVE this website and have met some great people on here. Singing has always been a big outlet for me. Being able to share it with others has been wonderful. I do hope that they can keep this site free for those who enjoy it.

I hear ya.... I agree with alot of people on this thread... There are ones out there that can afford it, others that are sponsored, and others who are on a fixed income, like myself and many others... I really enjoy this website and the people that I've met on here.. The only reason that I have internet at home, is because my husband works from home....the company he works for pays for the internet.....otherwise I wouldn't have it... All my extra cash goes into my daughter... She needs certain things paid for that insurance doesn't cover.... I don't want to sound like a charity case by any means.....but bottom line....its thankful for the ones that do sponsor people because alot of us are all in the same boat...

So if there are ones on here reading this thread that have sponsored members.....bless you.... I truly believe that other than making someone you may or may not know happy, blessing will come back to you 10 fold....

Always remember that one good turn, ALWAYS deserves another back...

Peace!!! xoxoxoxo

Ok there. Hey, hi ... gold member here. :)

I do have a question. I've gone into Paypal and see that there are no subscriptions listed so I'm wondering -- if I DO sponsor someone on a $7/mo basis ... will it be recurring or can I just sponsor someone for a month? It would be kind of nifty to maybe spread the niceness around and sponsor someone different each month, ya know? :)

OK I HOPE I AM STUMBLING ON THE RIGHT THREAD HERE! LOL

i was wondering how do i get sponsored?

i dont like asking anyone for anything - it is not of my character- but are there requirements or something? like do you have to be an A+ singer?

i am a low-income single mother - i am lucky to even be able to afford the internet and the other bills that are important in the house...i spend my money on others who need it within my home- i feel guilty if i by anything for myself.

so someone please tell me what do i have to do?

much appreciation for any idea's or knowledge ya send my way!

if i should happen to get lucky enough and anyone sponsor's me- please pm me to let me know! thanks!

Someone can sponsor you for the whole year, or just month to month. If they don't cancel your subscription, it will automatically renew you for the next month, and so on....If that person decides to not continue sponsoring you, they go into their acct, and cancel.... Your Gold membership will then end......:O)
(This is how someone explained it too me)

i've sponsored folks in the past but if i ever did it again i'd wish to be anonimous to everyone apart from the person i sponsored....i did sponsor someone and they splashed it all over their song..i did ask very nicely for them to edit their comment! which they did! :)

In this case, I Think that I would just send an email saying, "I just sponsored you. Your gratitude is appreciated, but I would appreciate it if it could be kept between you and me." It is perfectly acceptable to ask something like this and not rude at all. :)
