We are throwing the Temple doors open to all on SingSnap!

The Temple of A_God_S is a fun place to share your sings, chat, frolic and of course participate in Temple Challenges, XON Challenges, PMSL Challenges and other fun things we have planned! More about that stuff later ;)


The guidelines are simple:

NO DRAMA! If you have an issue, pm either Tanqueri or myself.

No vulgar displays, of language, on cam, or in posts. We understand some songs have profanity and that is acceptable with the proper warnings.

Participation in any challenge is optional…our goal is to “HAVE FUN”!

Yeah I will a bit later on one boy is sleeping at the moment so in about a couple of hours will add something. So that gives me some time to catch up on some listens all over singsnap and most importantly the temple

I dont think Shirl has sung one of late I will have to check her out.

I promised to leave a Temple offering in the form of cake sometime ago. This is for a Reese's peanut butter cake which I made for my daughter a couple of years ago. I looked everywhere for the recipe, then remembered that I made up the cake. There are actual recipes online for a Reese's peanut butter cake but my idea was to make a very very large Reese's peanut butter style cake, hehe. So what I did was bake two large round eggless choclate cakes, I also adapted a filling recipe using cream cheese and organic crunchy peanut butter with brown sugar and vanilla, add salt if you want to make the filling taste more like the actual Reeses peanut butter filling or just leave otu the cream cheese and use more peanut butter, also you can try icing sugar in the filling as well for a different texture with the peanut butter. Covered one cake with the filling then flipped or slid the other cake on top of the filling, then iced the cake with a choclate fudge topping/icing. I made it huge cause there were about 60 teens to share this cake with.

To make this cake for a smaller gathering, just adapt the recipe and make for a normal size cake, ie. use two layers for a choclate sponge recipe or use the eggless choc cake recipe I will post shortly:) If you want to make the huge version just double the chocolate cake recipe and use large springform baking tins.

Here is the recipe for the eggless chocolate cake that I use

Giorgio Locatelli's Eggless Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

450g/1lb plain flour (organic if possible)
6 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
300g/10oz caster sugar
125ml/4fl oz vegetable oil
300ml/½ pint water
2 tbsp distilled white vinegar
2 tsp vanilla extract
whipped cream, to decorate

For the icing:

dark chocolate spread
OR
225g/8oz icing sugar
25g/1oz unsweetened cocoa powder
75g/3oz butter, diced
1 tbsp golden syrup
4 tbsp milk

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda into a large bowl and stir in the sugar.

2. Combine all the wet ingredients in another bowl. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients all at once and beat until smooth.

3. Pour the batter into a greased 23cm/9in springform cake tin and bake for about 1 hour, until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean (place a sheet of foil over the top of the cake if it becomes too dark). Remove from the oven and leave to cool in the tin.

4. Turn the cake out of the tin and spread the chocolate spread over the top. Or, if you are making your own icing, sift the icing sugar and cocoa powder into a bowl and make a well in the centre.

5. Gently heat the butter, golden syrup and milk until the butter has melted, then pour into the well in the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

6. Beat with a wooden spoon until the icing has cooled and thickened slightly. Spread the icing over the top and sides of the cake with a palette knife. Decorate with whipped cream.
