GIDEON99'S COMMENT: "I’ve spent a good amount of time listening to my fellow SSRC members. I must say, they sure have talent and I’m very impressed. Wish I could pick more than just one “singer of the day” today, because I can choose a bunch! So the task of choosing one was not easy for me. Fortunately I had the opportunity to listen to Vrgnia. I think some have adoringly called her “Ate Virgie”. For me I prefer calling her “Kumadre Bing”. :-)

So why did I pick her as the “Singer of the Day”? Several reasons: She has a good voice, she’s very versatile, she can sing with anyone that’s talented as she is, and she can harmonize. She doesn’t waste her voice on songs just for the sake of singing (I do that a lot .. hahah). When I find myself running out of ideas of what songs to sing, I usually sneak in her page and see what songs she recorded. She never fails to impress me each time I listen to her.

She’s an inspiration, she never wastes a single note. (Fantastic gender-bender’ singer, too!) The numerous responses and comments she gets from her listening fans is an indication of how talented and magnetic “Kumadre Virgie” (aka Vrgnia) is.

I’m not really a country singer fan but this song by Emmylou Harris caught my ears and I'm sure will put a smile on your face! My dear friend Virgie captured the essence of the song."

If it were not kosher, I would probably pick Pinoy48 as my singer of the day every day! His vocal stylings in all of his songs are well thought of, well sung, well produced. We have awarded him countless trophies and adulations in our club. We actually don't have any choice when someone is consistently excellent at what they do! Walter and I go back since we were kids competing in Amateur contests. We never met personally because our parents were competing with other parents and with each other, a popular hobby in those days for them! Now we regale ourselves wtih these stories and have fun comparing notes. I so enjoy listening to Walter. I have his CDs and we have had several duets at the now defunct kSuperstar. It was a joy that we reunited here at Singsnap. Enjoy this ballad I picked for you today. Enjoy Walter's smooth delivery.
