I tried the "Enabling Stereo-mix in Vista" but it doesn't hear my voice now!

Hey there, I followed Jason's instructions (very easy to follow....thanks) but now SingSnap can't hear my voice. It worked with just microphone (which is built in to Laptop) but it sounded rubbish without any music. Anyway, have changed it and now it can't hear me at all.
Anyone know how to fix this?

I have yet to see a laptop with Vista on it that can do both mic and music at the same time. Rare to see one these days that even offers mix, so what is the laptop?
When you enabled stereo mix and set it as default did you have to reboot?
