trevor is viewing his easy to find inner circle videos! :)
It is with deep regret that we make this post and video today. There are days in business and life that nobody ever wants to face, yet circumstances force us to make the best of what is beyond our control.
Due to licensing circumstances, we feel it is prudent to remove a portion of the content from our site. As we've said in the past, we have and will always strive to adhere to restrictions placed on us by copyright holders of the material on our site. We don't take these actions lightly or without considerable thought.
So, a portion of our songs will no longer be available to sing, and recordings made with those songs will no longer be available to view. You may still review the comments on the affected songs in your account area, but they will no longer appear on your Profile or in the Watch & Listen section. While we do not foresee any further difficulties, we cannot predict the future and we'll always adhere to the legal and ethical requirements placed upon us. Please review Section 4 paragraph 2 of the Terms of Use for more information on Intellectual Property should you require any clarification on this.
It is very regretful that we must do this at a time when Gold Subscriptions are becoming ever more popular. While we like to keep things under wraps we can say that more Gold features are right around the corner. We will be releasing Stereo Backing Tracks and the ability to have your recordings viewed on a semi-private or invite only basis. These features will be available in the next few weeks, and more features are in development.
These actions, while having some short term pain, ensure the longevity and continued availability of SingSnap for the future.
We know you will have questions, and we'll try our best to answer them. We know some of you will be upset, but we'll try our best to appease you. Most of all, we need and appreciate your support and understanding in this difficult time. Some people may not see this message right away, so please, direct them here and help us make the best of this tough day.
I agree Trev it BITES! All the music industry does is alienate people outa sheer GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!! buncha @#$@ shucksters. Hope their music we take off dies and don't make em a dime. OK ALLLLL AT ONCE LETS FLIP EM THE BIRD-LOL
Moondoggies_Dream happy and content in the arms of my true love, my moondoggie
Trevor this is not fair , my fience and i have lost most all of our duets, < flooding with tears here , we worked hard to get them to come out right, geashhhhh.. why.. recording rights? you can downlaod them from the internet why cant we do them here..plz explain
Caz999 is spending time with laura before she goes home tomorrow
well i am really upset about this!!!it would have been better if the songs no longer available that we have already done could have been set to private so only the person who sang them can view it now or something like that! or some sort of warning to us that this was going to happen would have been nice!.........from a very unhappy gold customer :~(
Binky- is knee deep in catalog *weeeeeee* send a paddle plz
omg i lost a lot of mine too but hey what can they do but follow the guidelines for licensing its soooooo sad thank goodness i have most backed up and i have cdg's myself that i own of them.......
In my recordings list, it looks like almost 50% are lost, but I'm confused. I thought when you mentioned it before, if we recorded something with a license, we couldn't review it again, but others could. This is not the case? For instance, the song "noone" is now not available for anyone to view or sing?
What about "dont know much"? I just did that, and it's gone, but it's such a popular karaoke song. I'm just a little confused.
Caz999 is spending time with laura before she goes home tomorrow
i told trevor what for!!!!! still not happy i said he could of at least gave us warning that this was gonna happen grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
oops wrong thread hahahahaha well that cheered me up abit
I can understand removing them so people wont be able to record new version. ...but blocking recording we have already made so we cant even see them privately for ourselves? What the h... was the point of having them online in the first place? This is unprofessional of you. I'm having second thoughts about gold here. Are there really any legal implications to you giving us the ability to view our own old recordings if they are private?
I understand this must be hard for you, but you get little sympathy for this. Had I'd been a gold member that suddenly lost my recording... well
I hope you get this sorted and that user complaints doesn't bring you too much aggravation.
I've lost 59 of my recordings!!! THIS IS NOT COOL!!!!!!!!!!! Most of these are part of a contest or something too! What in the world?? That is so crappy!
Trevor and staff sorry to hear about this.I knew within my own heart that sooner or later it would happen as things get tougher in the recording industry. You all have done your best and are doing yiour best.I'm saddened that this has had to happen here but,you all know as well as I that "NO ONE" wants to get sued if we can protect ourselves from it.Trevor I know it's out of your control and that you don't like it.You are a man of honor because,of the fact that you're honest and sincere when it comes to protecting this site and it's members.May God bless you and continue to guide and give you the courage and strenth that is needed to run this site.I'm very honored to be a part of this site.I support you 100 % in what you need to to and must do for the site as well as the safety of it's members. mawofthreesons Jamie
Copyright issues blow but it happens. But for someone who used to like playing out in a band and being in the public eye,....I now have 3 kids and this site has been great for still being able to do what I like to do since being in a band now is not an option. Great site, keep up the great work, TOM1970
woooow ..I have lost 146 songs , sure wish we had some forewarning so we could at least make copy!! Was fun while singing them anyway :) .....Copy right laws must be followed...I know its out of your control.... but this really stinks.

It does kinda bite. I don't have that many recordings because I usually get rid of old stuff that's probably not going to be listened to anyway... I'm not trying to build a music library. So, out of the dozen songs I on my account I lost only 4, but that's a third of them. Wonder if Que Sera Sera is still on the site?

I've spent half a day creating altered lyrics for a song (Lucky Man) for a contest and now I can't even view it or use it.
Somewhat annoyed.
