Last week, Trevor stated that you have showtunes in the works for upcoming releases. Is there any chance that we will be getting something OTHER THAN "Grease" and "HSM" in those or at some point in the future?

On a happy note... there are actually songs that I know this week on the list and one or two that I will surely sing at some point.

No Suedhead from Morrissey as I was hoping, but I couldn't care less today. Thank you so much Tony for adding what I believe is the first song request I've ever remembered posting that actually got added, even tho it was probably a coincidence this time. This would be Military Madness by Crosby Stills and Nash, one of my favorite political songs and one from the Legends label.

Look forward to more from Legends and maybe even Chartbuster of songs we've been requesting for new or to get back from the licensing purge.

Well I have be waiting also for any new showtunes with the exception of High School Musical and Grease that is all that has gone in for as long as I have been on here, there are a lot of older musicals that would be nice to have. and some of the rock operas also like from Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, would also like to see more Westside story, Fiddler on the Roof

There is a difference between regular Karaokee and This site.. Difference Internet laws stipulate different requirements for Intellectual property and contracts that require SS to comply.. This is why Some songs are removed that were on the site because of LICENSING.. and the thing is.. If you arent gold kiddo.. even if they add the songs you want.. you cant sing em anyway because you have to be gold to sing new songs...

Didn't know youtube.com was a karaoke site.... oh wait it's not. This is why songs are pulled when reported or found by the license owner or representative of them. Things aren't free, and in order to sing a song and record it licenses/permission need to be obtained. Normally at a high cost. If you sing a song and don't record it I believe you don't have to pay royalties just as long as you aren't being paid to preform it. Same goes if it is a parody.

I agree the features aren't worth the money thats paid. I could easily program my flash to intercept things in stereo. In fact I believe there are things already in existence for this from the flash developers kit. I can also go out an get a much nicer mixer then whats on the site.

However what the money is worth is the song license(s). They aren't cheap and although I may have done things differently in the way of how to generate money from members to pay for those licenses, the fact remains that the general fee charged isn't near as bad as it could be.

Purevolume.com appears to be a site for original artists. If you post karaoke songs there it will be a copyright infringement. You'd probably be banned from the site.

Youtube.com is not a karaoke site and they don't have rights to any karaoke tracks, nor do they supply any of them. A new karaoke disk of new songs of good quality is $18-24 for 9-15 songs...maybe only a couple of which you would even want. AND buying the disk doesn't give you legal right to use it anywhere but in your own home, privately. Putting the song online with or without your voice is considered unauthorized copying without proper licensing.
