We use 'miffed' plenty here in Leftpondia too.

The Feature page is usually too much of a bother to me, so I rarely sing something just b/c it's featured that day. I think there's a way to get picked to do the Feature yourself for a day...maybe you could do that and list the artists you like.

We also need karaoke cover bands that will tackle the more obscure stuff. I'd like to sing some XTC, which isn't anywhere near obscure, but there just aren't many karaoke versions of their songs available.

I found this nifty online database where you can at least find out if your song exists somewhere as a CD+G. Getting it here on SS is another hurdle, but for songs that aren't here (or, lately, for things that were here and got deleted) I sometimes just buy the mp3 off itunes or emusic and do my own recording at home.

Well, ya just do what the SS rooting section says when there's a complaint that a certain song has been lost due to "lic." "Why don't you just go sing one of the other of the thousands of songs that are on SS?"

if its any consolation, im a big country fan, and i sing a lot of country on here,,but not today,,i dont even tknow the artists listed on the feature page...so ill be singing nothing either today............but im sure i can last a day withiout being on the feature page,,,or can i?,,mmmmm....lol

Why not take a minute and pull up the artist and give them a listen or just attempt to do one of their songs? I mean honestly I think it's fun to listen and learn new songs. They can't all be that bad just because they are "country'.

Everybody has days they get left out! It's disappointing and sometimes we get a director that will go out of their way to make keywords that totally exclude country and then I am left out, because I have a voice that only lends itself to country music. But, for the most part, everyone gets to have something they can sing almost every day.

Challenge yourself......Learn one of the songs that would be featured. I've learned to appreciate many genres over the years by just getting in there and trying to learn some of them. You might be surprised what you'll enjoy doing.

I'm pretty miffed myself but not so much about the features. Why did they get rid of so many songs? I think half my recordings are now blocked by licensing restrictions. If they had the restrictions they should have never been put on here. I'ts almost getting to where I can't find anything to sing anymore.

They do have a couple of what I call techno on here by "Sash" I found them last night.........

My 18 yr old son calls it "handbag" music lol........

It's kinda fun learning to sing songs that you've never heard and you consider out of your genre. I sing mostly country cause I was raised on it, but I still try the occasional rock,rap song, much to the amusement of my friends here. lol..

Well, if you enjoy singing for the feature page, and you don't know any of the songs, sing a parody or mock of the song...make up stuff, jump around, make funny faces...just make it fun.

I very often do a search on a the "tube with no name" to find songs I don't know. Then listen over and over to learn the song or at least get the gist of it before trying it out.

It's helped me to widen the range of stuff I do on here no end.
