I'm going to be honest; I don't listen to much country music, but you did a very good job here. There were just a few end notes you faltered slightly on, but overall a great rendition. Perfect song for your voice- you sing country very well.

Firstly, I enjoyed listening to you. You have a very nice sound to your voice. Now the bad news: your key is hit and miss in your low range. You were singing flat, esp on the word "Love" -"If I ever lose your love" line. I'm sure you can do better.

Sir/Ma'am,
Firstly, I never claimed to be a professional. I stated that very clearly on the first page. I also never claimed to have an excellent voice. So I’m not certain what you are “exposing”. I'm doing this critique based on the experience I've had in my life- that doesn't put me at zero experience. Less that you maybe, but not zero. As far as the song you submitted, what sounds good to one person may not to another. Even professionals disagree. Music is another form of art, and everyone has an opinion. Furthermore, I don’t even know who you are. I at least have my real name, age and location listed in my profile, but there is no information about you. Sorry, but I will continue my forum. It’s not perfect, I’m not perfect, but I’m not going to shut down the operation based on your comments.

Don't worry, Juan. I will tell you what I think! It's true that honest feedback is essential, but we need positive encouragement as well... Ok, so you did very well here. You need to tighten your performance a little more, but overall very good job. You have an extremely pleasant sound to your voice, and it was the perfect song for you as well. Good luck on your contest!
Nice rendition of this classic song. You started out sounded great, but lost key and control during the chorus part- you just didn't sound the best there. If you could get the song sounding consistently good, I would give you a higher score.
Actually I agree with you. I sang it 4 times, but I couldn't get past it. But that is why we have our soundcards with all of the effects. Of course I can always fall back on my COPD. I scored much higher than I thought I would. Don't mind that guy that was so insulting. With music all you need is ears. If you would put this one through the mill. My first song on SingSnap. It is my favorite. Same song though I warn you it has the effects. http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/b99f7295
Lol, I just finally broke down and bought a soundcard... even without effects I still sound better! I will get to your recording ASAP, and thanks for being kind...

My previous decision still stands. Your voice sounds a little more even with the effects, but no change to the chorus. The good news is, if you can hear where you're off, you can improve it. Or, find another song to do! Seriously, there are songs that I can't master, no matter how hard I try. But best of luck to you...
Oh, and not to shock you or anything, but I usually re-do a song 20-30x before I put it out for public display. This might sound crazy, but it often requires many takes to get a song sounding good... and if it is still having issues, I might come back to it later, or else move on to something else.
Very fine performance. Not much to critique here, except I thought your voice would sound better in a different song.

Opinions usually do vary when critiquing. I agreed with most of Simon's comments. A couple of the perfect scores he gave I didn't agree with and a couple that he didn't score perfect, I personally thought deserved it. It basically comes down to what appeals to our own ears. Because I have been singing most of my life (although I've never had a single voice lesson), I listen first to the appeal of the singer and then the music usually comes second. My favorites are the artists that can sing with such clarity, making it seem so effortless. (josh groban, hayley westenra, delta goodrem, lara fabian, amy lee are some of my most favorite). It makes me wish I had some classical training.
Anyway, I have faith that Simon will eventually critique one of my songs. He told me he would. I just think he is extremely busy.
