IN MY OPPINION THIS SITE WILL ONLY BE A PAYING SITE VERY SOON. ALL NEW SONGS ARE GOLD ONLY NOW, AND MORE SONGS THROWN OFF THE PROGAM THEN THERE ARE NEW ONES ADDED
I LOVED THIS SITE TILL RECENTLY BUT HOPE SOMEBODY ELSE WILL START A SIMILAR SITE THAT WE CAN PAY BUT AT LEAST GET MORE TUNES AND NOT BE SUBJECTS OF BEING KEPT FROM OUR 5TH AMMENDMENT RIGHTS OF FREEDOM TO SING AND EXPRESS OURSELVES IN ANY WAY WE PLEASE. FREEDOM, PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL, AND SORRY TO AIR OUT MY FEELINGS IF IT SEEMS TO BE IN A NEGATIVE WAY TO SOME.

Hi there zoz!
45 pages of recordings.. is not bad for free really is it, seriously. I have 20 more pages than you but only been here a year longer.

Also it isn't an American only site it is based in Canada I'm in the UK no fifth amendment here I don't even know it's content.

Also things implemented such as 'potentially offensive songs flagging' was put in place because community reached out and asked for it. The same users usually visit and try out all karaoke sites and would either suggest the same again (provided like singsnap they allow people to express their views and complaints publically) or potentially not go there if it wasn't like that for all the reasons that it was stated in the 'for' it threads. You have the patriotic act does that not prevent you from expressing your entire thoughts freely, I remember stories of peeps getting arrested for saying silly things about George Bush?

So you are willing to automatically pay for a new site that will provide all these recordings... when at the moment nobody has more songs than singsnap available for free.

Sorry if I am rambling...I'm just trying to understand your feelings and the part about wanting somebody to make a new site using the sites forum for you really...

I'm sorry, I don't undertand this part at all. You'd be willing to go to new site where you'd have to pay, but could at least get new songs to sing?

So, what's wrong with paying for this site and having access to all the songs?

If you pay you will get more tunes, you are free to sing every song you can access. And what does 5th amendment rights have to do with it ? It's a karaoke site not a political forum.

I'AM HAVING TROUBLE AND HAVE BEEN!!!!..THE LAST TWO DAY'S ARE REALLY REALLY BAD...SONG'S WHEN I GO TO LISTEN TO THEM ARE SO CHOPPY.OR CUTTING OUT AND SOME TIME NO SOUND AT ALL....SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT HAVING TROUBLE!!...BUT THEY WILL SOONER OR LATER!!..RITE NOW THERE IS A WHOLE BUNCH OF US THAT ARE...WE WOULD JUST LIKE (((SOME ONE)))..TO LET US KNOW WHY...PLEASE!!!..THANK YOU!!

I guess my point wasnt made clearly. All the new songs being put on now are for paying members only! There arent any new songs being posted for regular blue members. So does that mean take what was given to you for free till now and be happy, or if you want any new songs to sing pay for it. Where is Trevor for the announcement that from now on all the new songs we are adding are only availabel to paying members? At least with that people are getting the truth.

Also how do any of you know that the new songs being paid for wont get removed in the future? Are all the new songs placed on the site protected from being removed?

I dont want anybody thinking that Im not appreciative of coming to this free site, because I am very grateful for having the chance to sing and meet people here.

I just wish the messages from administration or Trevor would be clear to its members. thanks for the replies I got. I am always anxious to hear other peoples thoughts and am open minded to accept it if Im wrong about things the way I see them.

And the only reason I bring up Freedom is because I always thought that by Singsnap saying on all their songs that the song is in the style of a certain artist and by them not duplicating the song exactly that we would all have the freedom to use whatever backtrackings they would put here as long as it was slightly different then the originals. I guess this is a legal issue that the ownership of Singsnap know about and I guess there is no way for them to resolve it.

trevor DID mention in at least one of the general discussion threads that at this point, all planned future releases are for paid members...

and no, nothing is guaranteed to stay on here... it says that in the terms of use... snap reserves the right to remove any content from the site at any time... but of course, they don't WANT to remove anything, and they only pull stuff when they ABSOLUTELY HAVE to... as in when they are forced to... laws change, contracts change, and snap can't make promises for tomorrow based on what's going on today... but you can bet your socks they are doing everything they can to add to the site, not take away from it...

i have noticed that some songs that were removed because of lic issues have returned but now only for gold members . i willl agree there are a lot of songs on snap . and i would think about going gold if ! i felt that the songs being requested .if possible were being added . take a look at the requested songs area people are asking over and over and over again . for the songs they would like added . it would really help them if after checking to see if its avalible . some kind of feed back was left . such as will be added or unavalible . then we wouldent feel whats the point of asking ! however thats academic now as only gold get new songs . i`m not bashing snap . just stating a point of view . happy singing if your Gold or blue green or whatever :-)

In a nutshell, yes.

And as Mark says, Trevor did make it clear that for the foreseeable future all new songs would be gold-only.

I don't remember it being stated exactly like that (for the foreseeable future all new songs would be gold-only!). Basically, it sounds as if blue members (that would be me) will have to settle with the songs that were listed prior to the addition of "gold memberships". So, is the administration saying that blue memberships will never have access to "new" releases? I sure hope not because then I would definitely feel as if I was being phased out....

Well, I guess that answers my question. The intent is to force blue memberships to become paying customers or settle for the limitations. I guess it's time for me to make a decision.....

By the way, do you all believe that gold memberships will be locked in at $7 a month? I think it will be raised in increments and will get to at least the $10+ a month rate.

No one is being "forced" to do anything. As you said, you now have a choice. If having access to new songs is important enough to you, then by all means, become a Gold subscriber. If you don't feel having access to new content is worth the money, then enjoy the thousands of free songs available. Your choice.

If by "locked in" you mean there will never be an increase, then no, I don't believe that. Just as I also don't believe milk and gasoline prices will be "locked in" at their current level. You used to be able to buy a McDonald's hamburger for 15 cents. If they "locked in" that price they would have gone out of business years ago.
