nongoldmembers get the same songs, but just 1 month after....so if you don't want to be a goldmember, you have to wait 1 month to sing it....so you can stay mad for 1 month lol...or you can be a goldmember and sing it now.

I've had free membership since last May, good going I think. I paid for Paltalk for 1 year and never went there lol. I'm still a paid member for Inspeak but I didn't pay for that. Not been to Inspeak for over 6 months. This site is worth every dollar, euro, pound, rupee, sesterci bloody hell thats going back a bit lol, dubloons.......

I live off my small pension and a benefit that I receive every 2 weeks. If we can pay for the Internet then surely we can afford the subscription.......SUPPORT THIS SITE :-)

that means that as of right now...the songs they released on March 1st for the gold member....that they currently have no plans on releasing them to the non gold members any time in the future. That is how I understand it. That is how things stand at this moment in time.

Of the 50 songs released there wasn't one that I wanted to sing. The pitch thing so far hasn't adjusted enough for me on the songs that are wrong key for me. I'm glad to pay for an awesome website but tell me again, what are my benefits in going gold besides doing the right thing in paying for this site.

Well said.........It would cost me a hell of a lot more if I went out to the bar every night. I live on my own and yes I do get bloody bored with the tv. So here I get the chance to sing my heart out ( well up untill 10pm or later if I sing quietly lol) great pitch changer cos I do use it. Worth every euro to me. The price I paid for a years subscription doesn't even cost as much as for 200 ciggs in the uk.

We don't pay extra for movie channels so I don't complain to the Dish Network people about not getting to watch a particular movie I'd been wanting to watch.

I helped sponsor a contest last weekend.
I sponsored a one month subscription for one winner and a two month subscription for another winner

i just went to paypal to cancel the on-month subscription - before I get billed for 2 months for that members name.

It doesn't tell me who is who!!!

i do not remember of which order i paid for the 2 winners subscriptions!! :(

I don't know what to do. To the best of memory I cancelled subscription for the one-month winner, that I believe I subscribed to singsnap first. I hope I cancelled the right subscription!

if i accidentally cancelled the 2 month winner, i will of course resubscribe for the additional month that the winner was awarded.

but if i cancelled the two month winner on accident, and not the one-month winner - than the one-month winner will have received 2 months from me, instead of the one month that they won.

But as a free member you seem to have Trevor all figured out. And to be honest if he did upgrade and charge more again it is our choice as to whether or not we buy.

But for free members singing on a daily basis and posting on the boards. . Using the chat room. FREE.. :)

I'm glad you feel you are getting a good deal. But I am alarmed that should the current trend continue, soon there will be NO new songs for blue members anymore, and a platinum tier will be added for even more charge per month with more features that gold members won't have access to.

Paying for bandwidth is one thing, but converting to a for-profit site is another. A certain number of people will always have the money to pay for the latest and the greatest. But those people are not always the ones with more time to contribute content to the site. Moreover, once a site converts to profit, it never goes back. Sometimes sites that are run for profit not only ask for funds for using the service, but they also include ads at a later date as well. There is a difference between money and appreciation. For example, would you rather be friends with someone who was always asking you for money, or someone who was always asking for positive feedback? Money can be a form of appreciation, but it is not a perfect model.

Finally, you can say the site is nonprofit, but until the financial statements proving it are available, I don't have to believe it. Or, I might believe it to be true now, but I might not later, when the site ends up putting up ads for free members anyway.

when there are those that are treated like second class citizens when they don't have to be.. Nothing wrong with snap making money they were offering upgrades to gold that was causing them to sell which is fine but then they struck at the free clientale that also earn them money from there sponsors and put them at the bottom of feature pages and put new restrictions on new songs.. As stated not upset snap is raising new revenue but they could have did it by upgrading the ride for gold without putting blockades up for blue.. I saw comments and suggestions where people were making that would have enticed me to go gold.. but once these two things were done i couldnt in good concience do so.. One lady shared with me that this has been a great site for her since her son passed.. she still enjoyed singing and couldnt get out like she had but due to this being a free site it was all the joy she needed. I know as well is you the joy for a karaoke singer comes from the appreciation of others and this old lady will see far less of that.. so i showed her other sites where she will not be treated as second rate.. Hopefully these sites when they upgrade will do just that upgrade for the premium not take away or ad restrictions for the free cause to many people can get hurt that way.. Let the free drive the Volkswagon and the premium drive the Porche but let them share the same road.. Not that difficult a task or that much to ask for and many could have spared the hurt feelings.. somebody with power or sense in the decision making process should listen to the little complaints that are growing of so many and they would learn it is only these two things that stand out.. surely gold has more to offer that these things shouldnt be included.. The keychanger and suggestion of allow already rated songs to be put into a jukebox so gold can listen while doing thins around there home and there are so many other suggestions. why take away the things that make it so enjoyable not only for the current free but for the new folks that come behind that would grow an ever increasing supply of gold... However the actions taken couldnt be better if in the future You really don't want the sponsors but want all members to be gold.. Please people look at the big picture.. there are other sites that with a few tweeks could be even better...However snap has the audience now and i hope this message gets to the right people It has been a great site however i feel maybe not enough thought was given before making these 2 decisions.. The money was there and more to be made with premium without doing away with the great service given free. Which helped so many and is vital to SS growth.. Thanx
