When I play back my recording there is no sound....what am I doing wrong?

I'm having trouble recording, too. It doesn't record my voice OR the music and this never happened before. Yes, my mike is plugged in lol. What is the wave control The Gear Guy? I never heard of that before

start- control pannel- audio devices -audio- then volume THATS HOW...LOL THE GEAR GUY.

I have everything the same as before, but nothing is recording. It acts like it is, but when I review, there is nothing there. Never had this happen. It has been like this all week. Mic works, speakers plugged in, wave is up, stereo is on, don't know what else to do!

just signed up and really want to sing songs but I cant due to the fact that when i try to record a song there is no preview recording when I get done singing. Everything is working fine. Wizard was ran and it said everything was working.
Help!!!
