Nothing new today for my taste, but thanks anyway Tony. I agree with the poster in the companion thread, we're fortunate to be getting new songs every week.
I know there are some who may not suit the taste of songs this week but the songs that are up are always something to look forward to weekly :) (you roxxors)

What happened to Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Steve Miller Band, David Bowie...the list goes on of artists/songs we've lost! The NEW selections..yeah okay I know a couple songs here and there. What about the OLD selections???? I'd like to start seeing us get the old ones back...we've lost so many, and more and more disappear nearly weekly!!!
I'd rather see resources put in towards getting the songs we have lost back, due to the popularity of those artists, than getting more (relatively speaking) junk. I guess it's possibly not possible, but money talks...we all know that.
Again nothing new for my taste, And again and again and again. New 50 another big disappointment to me yet again.
Thanks for trying but it's really gotten to the point where I think: well I suppose I might as well check the new songs but I don't expect much. Not something to look forward to at all for me as yet.
I fully support tony in his efforts to bring us new songs...but not much has been added that appeals to the 'mainstream' public. If money is an issue, I'd rather see singsnap pay for 5 good songs instead of 50 songs that hardly anyone has ever heard of. Its sort of feeling like being in a store where you loved all the fashion on the racks and then all of a sudden they started bringing in items that don't appeal to you...After awhile you start looking for a new store to shop in...Not that I would do that because lately I've been finding some rare finds and trying them on for size..
As a paying member I agree that I would rather pay for 10 great songs a week, rather than 50 mostly unknown songs and repeats. And if some of those were LIC artists, even better.
I would support that too, altho inevitably there would be much disagreement about which Lic. songs to bring back as well as which ones of the thousands to bring back FIRST. So, matter what Trevor decides there would be anger and whining on those issues. You've got thousands of people who would be arguing over several thousand lic. songs and little agreement. I really don't envy Trevor on this.

I would strongly second that!
even tho, that sounds like a great plan! I don't believe that the reason we don't have these artists is because of money but because of laws/artists/producers, etc ... Just a gut feeling but my gut has been wrong in the past before LOL.

Cheeky- I should have clarified. For the most part, I'm agreeing with both you and the wiz. In another thread on a different board than this one as well as another thread on this board, I defended SS as not being cheap and quite willing to spend what it might take to restore the license removed songs. In both those posts I said that I believe the only reason they haven't been restored is the songs not being available for license on an international karaoke site like this, not the issue of price.
My post here is trying to say that if both you and I are wrong, and it does turn out to be an issue of the price rather than licensing availability, then I would like to see the most requested/popular of the old songs that were removed put back before we got any new songs that have never been on here.

When I signed up for gold membership it was to mostly support singsnap to improve. I see the improvements on the recorder and some other website features, but at the same time when I began to pay is when I started noticing the artists/songs disappearing....did I do something wrong? I have favorite artists that I enjoy very much singing, and simply want them back. What is being done about it?

That is the million-dollar question. Nothing has really ever been publicly said about it on here, at least nothing ever specific. I'm confident they've continually been trying, but because it probably involves legalities they can't discuss in any detail here, we're just going to have to believe, or not that they're trying until we hear specifics or start seeing the artists and large numbers of songs that were lost restored to the site. I continue to be interested in the outcome, but I have no idea when we'll find out and I'm not holding my breath or in any hurry for the next year, or most of it, at least.

These are very common karaoke artists/songs. Steve Miller, Stevie Wonder, Beatles, Billy Joel, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Jim Croce, etc. You can sing them in just about every karaoke club anywhere in the world! This "Licensing" word is very vague!! I'm also noticing that the staff is overlooking these threads/questions??? Do we need an additional funding to have our favorite artists? What "exactly" is the problem, and how do we fix this?
