Well, Tonya....morning!! I can say I don't like the feature page either. I can't afford the "gold" until I go back to work again. :-(
So, I just thought I would sing a song for the feature...lolol
I hope your doing alright and staying safe with all the storms so close. I am glad I am in the upper part of Texas.

I hope those down around Houston and Galveston get out of there and come up our way. We are only getting some rain and high winds from it. We never feel the affects of the storm like those right there on it.

I wasn't having any trouble with mine out of the ordinary.
I enjoyed it very much. It was quite a blessing to me since I could make the songs higher that needed to be. I can't sing in the "gutter" all the time..lolol Most of the songs I was trying to sing was wayyyyy tooooo low for this girl..lol

I just went to "new" songs and it wont let me sing any of them. It says to "subscribe" on all of them. That isn't right!
I thought they had new songs that weren't for just the gold people....hmmm

I was just listening to vicky's fruitcake song and wanted to share this type of fruitcake

FRIENDSHIP CAKE - ORIGINAL STARTER

3/4 c. (can) sliced peaches, drained and diced
3/4 c. crushed pineapple, drained
6 maraschino cherries, cut in half
1/2 c. sugar
1 pkg. active dry yeast

Combine and place in glass (gallon size) jar with a loose cover at room temperature. Stir several times first day; then once daily using a plastic or wooden spoon.
After 2 weeks this starter will have fermented enough to start the Friendship Cake Mix (using the second full cycle of above fruit makes a far superior mix than not doing so).

Old recipe recommends 2 or 3 friends get together on this.

FRIENDSHIP CAKE STARTER

1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail
1 (16 oz.) can peaches
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
2 1/2 c. sugar

Combine fruit cocktail with juice, peaches with juice and 2 1/2 cups sugar in large jar. Stir with wooden spoon until sugar is dissolved, cover. Let stand at room temperature. Stir each day for 10 days. Add pineapple with juice and 2 1/2 cups sugar, mix well.
Stir each day for 10 days. Add cherries (cut in half) with juice and remaining 2 1/2 cups sugar, mix well. Stir each day for 10 days. Store in refrigerator. May store in refrigerator indefinitely. Yields enough for 7 cakes.

FRIENDSHIP CAKE:

1 (2 layer) pkg. white cake mix
1 1/2 c. Friendship Cake Starter
2/3 c. oil
4 eggs
1 c. chopped pecans

Combine cake mix, Friendship Cake Starter, oil and eggs in bowl, mix well. Stir in pecans. Pour into greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan few minutes. Invert onto serving plate. Can be baked in 2 loaf pans.
